Blogged about them earlier this month here. At that time I read that "large box will be £23, the smaller one will be £14 and the head will be £17". Sadly not available in Singapore, but in UK can be bought from Store & Amazon UK website. Can some kind soul who is getting/has gotten some do a review pls?

Thanks for all the comments. Seems to be rather polarized... either you like the overhang or you don't. Personally I kind of like the overhang for the unreal, toy-like feel (Tim Burtonish?). I'll play around with the roof config next time I've decided on what building it should be... Added a 2 storey pic in the 1st post cos I just remembered that after I built it, thought it actually looked better as a shorter (and cuter?) building. What do you think? As usual, more stuff in my blog but this time just the 2 storey config in black background... just for variety.

Hi Vader11, managed to take some pics today so I've created a new thread for the white building here: Link As usual more pics are available on my blog, including the previous brown version that I've torn down. Hope you like it!

Hi everyone, I haven't decided what to do with this white building but in response to Vader11's request here it is. I used the parts from 2 sets of Winter Toy Shops (10199)and retained the stuff I loved in 10199 – the distinctive roof and the red and white awnings. I also kept the chimney and fireplace from the 1st version (in brown) that I built. This also comes with a 3rd floor living quarters for the shop owner, and an attic storage area if and when I ever do up the interiors. Front view Back view Unstacked floors More pics and close-ups in my blog, along with pics of the previous version that had full interiors and winter landscaping. Appreciate your suggestions and comments, and hope you liked it! Oh, my new street view: Update: Forgot that this building works as a 2 storey building too. In fact, think it looks cuter as a 2 storey rather than 3.

Let me see if I can find time to take some photos tomorrow. If not give me another week or so cos I can only take reasonable pics in decent daylight condition (I'm using an 'point&shoot' cam!). Wow, thanks! I love the GE so it's a great compliment. TBH I think it is not as good of course, but still great to hear! Oh, I designed it so my lego-lings can buy popcorn & drinks without having to go into the cinema. There are so few food places in my Lego town you see... every bit helps! I think this shot shows layout better. It's designed to have 2 service staff operating during peak periods (one for the outside counter and one for cinema patrons) hence the 2 cash registers.

Oh space and police sounds good cos I won't need to buy them I think. Ok, I may just change my mind when the pics are out. I do love the 7744 Police HQ and although I already have 2 of that set, any set that can top the 7744 will be a must buy. But I'll leave the space out! Yippee! Time to recover from a really fierce 2010 on the wallet. Plus need to save for Tower Bridge too.

Thanks alot for all the kind comments! Btw it's yellow cos I wanted something cheery for my street (and also I do have loads of yellow bricks ). For my next few buildings I intend to colorise my street (red, blue, etc) so hopefully the yellow doesn't look too out of place next to the earthly official modular series. Life lites refers to specialty lights for lego (I'm not familiar with the term)? Unfortunately this building is not lighted. CarrollFilms & Fires-storm: I did some research on cinema MOCs before I started on this. Maybe you can have a look for reference and more inspiration? Hope you finish your cinemas soon and to share it with us. Link to cinema research Yeah... I tried to do a tiered seating at first, but it was simply too heavy to support. I could also expand the L-shape to make it bigger but roof and floor plates was a major constraint on the building size. It's a bit of anti-climax for such a big building to have only 6 seats huh? Haha, yeah new bling bling indeed. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I wanted a cinema that was modular scale to entertain my minifigs, so I modified the Town Plan cinema into a corner modular cinema. Retained the features I really liked in the original such as the 'cinema' sign and the frontage. The cinema has full interiors including a snack/popcorn corner on the ground floor, and the cinema hall on the 2nd floor. Front and side views: Frontage & interiors: View of cinema with the rest of my modular street: More interior pics can be found in my blog: Link to blog Thanks for viewing. Comments and suggestions welcome...

Where to get Lego Brick Separator tool in SG
metalgearsolid replied to LegoBuilder's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Try Toyshunt at Great World City level 3. They sell the brick separators loose. -
Hi I came across this interview with a Sydney Opera House commercial partnerships manager, and he mentioned working with TLG on an Opera House lego set bigger than the Taj Mahal. Extract from interview: "For example Lego who we are now working with to create a Sydney Opera House set. They’ve recently completed the Taj Mahal, which I believe is a 6000-piece Lego set, and they believe this could be bigger." Could this be the set after Tower Bridge? Any Australians here with more news about this? I'm quite excited at the idea of a Sydney Opera House set cause the distinctive curves should be fun to re-create in Lego. Full text can be found on my blog.

For a duplo plate... I can only think of an alien landscape, although not being able to moc rocks or plants would suck. If it's a system plate though, I may create a jogging track by using green plates in the middle for a field, or a tennis court (clay court?) for my lego-lings to do some sports. Red plate.... may work for flooring of a department store? If I intend to show studs and not tile I guess. Well, given there isn't any red system plate on sale this is mere fantasizing of course.

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
metalgearsolid replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I stumbled upon BrickTopia, and it remainded me how much fun lego was. Of course, the creations were truly inspirational. http://members.cox.net/bhamilto1/topia/topia.htm Plus being a working adult with bigger pocket helped too. The modular buildings were also a huge push. -
ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
metalgearsolid replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I use "Vanish Power O2". Works great and also whitens discolored white bricks (improves the yellowing effect but I've not experimented to see if a longer soak will restore the color even better). I usually leave bricks in for an hour, rinse, dry and they look great. -
I saw the midi star destroyer in my local catalog. It's small enough to show a kid's hand holding it (on the prelim box cover) to play 'swoosh'. The set has also been listed on Brickset. It's definitely small, like this year's midi MF size. No minifigs.
-
Oh gosh, just realised next year is a Kingdom Advent Calendar! Set no 7952 on Brickset. Hope it's as good as the last Castle Advent!
-
Sorry no pics. Didn't think the pics wouldn't be leaked (since the same day all the POP and Kingdom set pics were leaked). It's an imperial star destroyer. From the small little pic it's just this triangular ship. Sorry couldn't make out the details and I'm also not SW fan - was just helping my bf to look and see if any new UCS (none in the catalog I saw).
-
Hi I did a search here (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25435) and did not find any mention of the midi sized star destroyer I saw in my local trade catalog. Looks like the midi MF that was released this year. Just thought to share the news.

How much is your collection worth?
metalgearsolid replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks to Brickstore program, my current sets and gear inventory based on average Bricklink selling prices for past 6 months is about $16,500. Stilll need to inventorise my loose parts though. Actually, most of my collection is still MISB, so I guess the value will freefall once I open the sets to play. -
How do you keep track of your collection?
metalgearsolid replied to desultor's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Brickstore is great. Started using after reading about it on this thread so thanks guys! Was using brickset previously (and still maintain the sets list there), but guess it's brickstore from now on so I can track loose parts too. -
Yes, the jester set is real, as are all the other leaked 2010 Kingdom set pics. But you shouldn't deeplink any pictures marked confidential tho.
-
It's just too bad santa won't be putting this set under my christmas tree! What an excellent piece of work. Love the exterior, love the interiors. Absolutely fantastic. Look forward to more excellent MOCs from you lgorlando.

Some legitmate evidence for the return of HP...
metalgearsolid replied to Derek's topic in LEGO Licensed
New HP sets release date in Oct 2010. Did not see any pics but the names look the same as Allansmith's in the trade catalog i peeked at. -
The Alamut set looks good. Has a 'fortress' battle scene with interesting parts like golden domes (different sizes but looks like those from 7571 Fight for the Dagger) that would make for interesting MOCs. After seeing all the pics, I think it's my 2nd most fav POP set after the ostrich race set. (I peeked at a trade catalog, no pics tho sorry!)
-
The jester and wizard impulse sets looks good. Wizard is green, so something different from the last wizard impulse. No third impulse set in trade catalog I saw tho. Seems to be going back to the castle designs of past style-wise. New castle reminds me of the past set 6098 King's Leo Castle rather than 7094 Kings's Castle Siege, but with a red roof instead of blue and less kiddish looking. Based on box picture i only saw a tower (on right side), so just one red roof? (Not sure if other side has tower, pic is small). I like the gate. Has nice portculis from what i could see, and doors too. No raised baseplate. The Prison Tower Rescue looks good too. The rest of the sets looked normal - not very exciting but then based on the small catalog pic could be i missed all the exciting bits. That's all I can rem. Guess with all the trade catalogs being released to retailers, someone would be leaking the pics soon?

Thanks Rapseflaps. I was hoping someone would help to translate the article by Aliencat, and you came along! Hope you don't mind but I'll use your translation to re-post to my local Lego community. Thanks in advance! I've removed the Googled translated version in my earlier post. to avoid confusion.
