  1. And we might as well get the classic castle people involved, as I don't think they are too happy about the KK stuff comming out. "Legoers of the world unite" eh? Sorta nice ring to it. :-$ The,um, Jack Daniels room is so named because of a massive 12 foot by 4 foot Jack Daniels rodeo banner. That and I enjoy some JD every once and again. Not very piratey, but the only way I can handle rum is in eggnog *sweet*, so its whiskey for me
  2. In answer to Phes, I have them on display in my Jack Daniels room, but only my pirate collection. They are the only Lego sets I have worth displaying! It is a real shame that Lego gave up on the pirates line, espically when considering how popular pirates have become recently. The great thing about being a university student is that I have tons of money(yeah right) that won't need to be payed back until I get a real job. Hooray for student loans everyone! Once I get access to a digital camera, pictures will indeed ensue, and hopefully by then I'll have plundered enough(stupid job) and secured enough credit to get an Eldorado(largely in part thanks to Phes' pic review) and have my imperial trade complex built. It won't be much of a MOC, but its better than nothing!
  3. I have the Harry Potter set, and I like the look of it. With some modifications to it, it could become a small unarmed galleon transporting cargo or important diplomats, etc. The 4+ ship looks far too juinorized, has those silly maxifigs, which would only be good spray painted silver or grey and used as a statue in a MOC. The Drumstang is a much better model, all it really needs is sails and a few improvements. BTW, I read a rumor once of a MOC with the Drumstang, anyone know where I can find it?
  4. Beautiful set review, makes me want the set even more. I think I'll be doing some saving for this one. :)
  5. Well Mr.Phes, to answer your question, I have the Blackseas Baracuda and the Imperial Trading Post. I don't think I need to post set numbers with those two. I recently ordered 6263 Imperial Outpost and 6265 Sabre Island. I've been trying to get a Caribbean Clipper, but to no avail. :( My Imperials really need a ship of their own
  6. Hello to you all! After an initial post in the ship challenge topic, I'll make this my offical greetings to everyone here. As well, I just expanded my pirate lego collection with a Sabre island and Imperial Outpost. What I am planning to do with these two sets, and an Eldorado once I can afford one, is combine them with the ITP and create a cheap semi-custom MOC. The ITP is, in my mind, an Imperial supply post, and I feel it needs more protection, espically since I have no Imperial fleet to speak of! BTW Phes, for those other MOC shots, and this one sans Eldorado, I am hoping to get a digital camera in September once the computer labs open rentals at school. Till then, I'll do my best to describe what I've got, if anyone has any questions about it.
  7. The stone WWII lander is set number 8801. I basically built her from the box, then put it up in my windowsill and ignored it, as I do with much of the KK2 line. Anywho I was over in the castle board, and they mentioned how they hated it because it was 1)made of stone and 2) had no sails or oars, hence no way to move it, aside from the two flags. Since I got the ITP, that little cutter has been the only Imperial ship in the lego waters, so I thought I should beef her up a bit. I tore apart the castle boat, took down the front tower and the ramp in the front, so that it was reduced to just the flat bottom hull. It's nice and wide, which is much better than the narrow cutter. I then tore the hull off the cutter, and basically put the top of it onto the hull of the castle ship, with a little work around the edges to make it look nice. The biggest problem I ran into, and hopefully you all will be able to see soon, was the very front of the cutter was a bit too narrow for the rest of the hull. Lacking enough pieces to really get it to fit, I just tossed it on there and told myself it looked mighty fine. The nice thing is the wider hull means I can fit a cannon with a swivle on it, and the below deck cargo hold is now much larger. She is a bit front heavy though, even with the cannon removed and both crewmen at the stern. Just means more tinkering I guess :) As to how the lego got stolen, it was mostly my fault. I had moved down to Lethbridge, and it was raining so my lego container got wet during the trip. I left it out on the lawn to dry off, and accidently left it out too long I guess. I sucks, but if I had it, I doubt very much I would have found out about bricklink, ebay, and these forums. Besides, I got a BSB(My first ever large lego set. I got my first one when I was 8), and had a blast rebuilding it. The ITP was something that I had always wanted, but never got, so that was a natural second selection. Now its a matter of concentrating on the pirates line, with a few side trips to TRU for vikings(their ship was great to build, with the old pirate hull pieces in the center) and the few KK2 sets that look good. If/when I get access to a digital camera, I'll also upload pics of a pirate hideout/secert society temple that the captian belongs too. More KK2 shifted into the Pirates realm, I'm afraid.
  8. Greetings all, I posted a little bit on piratebricks, before it went down, sadly :-( Anyway, a few years ago, just as I was comming out of my dark ages, my collection of lego got stolen. So, I began picking up KK2 sets(groan, but at least its lego) and finally found out about bricklink and eBay! I got a Imperial trading post, and fell in love with it, but I wasn't that big of a fan of the cutter. It was too small for my liking. Long story short, I combined the cutter with one of the KK2 sets. It was a toysrus special, the big stone WWII esque beach lander. I think it looks pretty good, but sadly right now don't have a digital camera. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon. Sorry for talking so much without an actual pic.
