The stone WWII lander is set number 8801. I basically built her from the box, then put it up in my windowsill and ignored it, as I do with much of the KK2 line. Anywho I was over in the castle board, and they mentioned how they hated it because it was 1)made of stone and 2) had no sails or oars, hence no way to move it, aside from the two flags. Since I got the ITP, that little cutter has been the only Imperial ship in the lego waters, so I thought I should beef her up a bit.
I tore apart the castle boat, took down the front tower and the ramp in the front, so that it was reduced to just the flat bottom hull. It's nice and wide, which is much better than the narrow cutter. I then tore the hull off the cutter, and basically put the top of it onto the hull of the castle ship, with a little work around the edges to make it look nice. The biggest problem I ran into, and hopefully you all will be able to see soon, was the very front of the cutter was a bit too narrow for the rest of the hull. Lacking enough pieces to really get it to fit, I just tossed it on there and told myself it looked mighty fine. The nice thing is the wider hull means I can fit a cannon with a swivle on it, and the below deck cargo hold is now much larger. She is a bit front heavy though, even with the cannon removed and both crewmen at the stern. Just means more tinkering I guess :)
As to how the lego got stolen, it was mostly my fault. I had moved down to Lethbridge, and it was raining so my lego container got wet during the trip. I left it out on the lawn to dry off, and accidently left it out too long I guess. I sucks, but if I had it, I doubt very much I would have found out about bricklink, ebay, and these forums. Besides, I got a BSB(My first ever large lego set. I got my first one when I was 8), and had a blast rebuilding it. The ITP was something that I had always wanted, but never got, so that was a natural second selection. Now its a matter of concentrating on the pirates line, with a few side trips to TRU for vikings(their ship was great to build, with the old pirate hull pieces in the center) and the few KK2 sets that look good.
If/when I get access to a digital camera, I'll also upload pics of a pirate hideout/secert society temple that the captian belongs too. More KK2 shifted into the Pirates realm, I'm afraid.
