  1. Noted, thanks! And edited, thank you! Ignatious taps his foot, impatient to get started. "Please make a decision, heroes! Octavian's ready to get started." "..."
  2. "I've never seen that assassin in my life, and I have few enemies. As for knowing when to return... Octavian and I are very close. We've depended on each other for more than 25 years. As such, we've developed a way to send mental messages to each other, regardless of distance. We've discovered that in our testing of the time travel spell, our system transcends time as well."
  3. QM Note: Noted, thanks.
  4. I feel kind of bad for murdering Gilderoy so quickly, especially since he waited in the hall so long for sign-ups.
  5. Ignatious regarded Sarick, then smiled. "I suppose that an explanation is in order. Mine and Octavian's father was Zander Ziegfried. Our mother was Deborah Porthiar. She died when Octavian was born. They had to cut him out of her stomach... I was 2 years old. Our father was consumed with grief for the rest of his life, and Octavian and I were left to fend for ourselves while our dear old Da rotted in his room." "Years passed. Da died when we were 15. Octavian and I were both surprised that he had lasted that long." "More years passed. We heard of a quest from Heroica involving the musty tomb of a 'Crozen Porthiar'. Our interest was immediately piqued. We went to Erin Hinkwell's residence, and asked a few questions. He said that he'd bought the place from John Porthiar. Unfortunately, Erin fell off the tower you saw when you first came before he could elaborate. But curiously, he left this manor to us before he fell. Odd, isn't it?" "That's were you come in. We believe that the Porthiars lived and breathed in this manor, and spent some time in this room. We've pinpointed a few years through hours of exhausting research. Gilderoy is going to send us back in time. Octavian, in his quiet brilliance, found a book with a spell for time travel. I tested it out. Someone has to stay behind to keep a link to the present and keep the spell going while he sends a person or group of people to the past. Gilderoy will be that anchor, so to speak. The spell in a book up on that bookshelf. Gilderoy, fetch it, will you?" "Yes, sir." While Gilderoy goes to get the book, Ignatious goes on to say that Octavian, though a Ziegfried, was trained as a Barbarian. Idle chat follows. "Ah, here it is sir." Gilderoy retrieves the book, and begins to bring it down. All of a sudden, a dark figure appears and stabs Gilderoy in the back! The book drops to the ground at the Party's feet as the assassin slowly drops Gilderoy's corpse off of his sword. The assassin turns around and takes a good look at the stunned heroes. Before the heroes can gather their wits, there is a flash of light, and the assassin is gone. Once the shock has worn off, Ignatious turns to talk to the heroes. "Well... Needless to say, that was not good. Now I'll have to stay behind to anchor you to the present. And the presence of an assassin could mean any manner of things. I want one hero to stay behind with me to protect me while I'm casting the spell. It'll most likely be boring work, but someone has to do it. I'll let you discuss amongst yourselves who that person will be." Ignatious and Octavian wait patiently for the party to make the decision, eyeing the corpse of Gilderoy laying up the stairs.

The brothers then were quiet as they waited for the heroes to introduce themselves. How will the heroes respond?
  8. Gilderoy nodded at Bloomingham as he signed up for quest 21. "Meat shield and a mage. Very nice. That brings me to the chosen heroes:" Nyx (Pandora) Sarick Lanse (Xarrzan) *Party Leader* Nerwem Calmcacil (Chromeknight) Lord Lawrence Boomingham (Zepher) Amorith Marvelo (legobodgers) "Unfortunately we'll have to forgo the hero from quest 5. 9. ooc- What? I don't see anything...
  10. Gilderoy walked into Heroica Hall; his clients were getting impatient... "The current sign-ups are:" Sylph Solanum (Dannylonglegs) Nyx (Pandora) Sarick Lanse (Xarrzan) Nerwem Calmcacil (Chromeknight) Amorith Marvelo (legobodgers) Benji Carvenhall (Flare) "Hm. Does anyone know where I can find a hero from Quest 5? If all of them are out questing, we might just need to leave without one."
  11. Excellent. You bought the story that I wanted you to believe. But no, the secret's out.
  12. It's interesting to think that Finnigan was born from a lame excuse on my part. I noticed that my questers were having a very hard time with all the undead, so I made the dagger a diamond-imbued dagger mid-battle. It was too late to edit the drops, so I waited until one of you got the dagger. Luckily, it was K-nut.

Ironically, I'm watching True Grit right now, and I can see it. Still a fantastic character and work of art.
  14. Cleared my cookies and browser history to no effect. It ain't the firewall, either. I know I have a fast connection, and my computer works pretty well. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Wednesday from the Addams Family? I love that show! If it's not, it's still a fine piece of art.
  16. Hm. I tried to get on with Firefox, and got the same problem... Guess I won't be joining you guys any time soon.
  17. I'd love to play, but I keep getting this "loading error, retrying" text. The background is the normal loading screen. I'm using google chrome, do I need to switch browsers?
  18. TCW is corrupting our youth!
  19. Gilderoy walked into Heroica Hall, hoping to see more names on the sign up list. "The current sign ups are:" Tarn Valco (Rumble Strike) Sylph Solanum (Dannylonglegs) Nyx (Pandora) Dak Shadeaux (Darth Nihilus) Sarick Lanse (Xarrzan) Knifk (Bioniclover) "Much better, heroes. We'll wait a little while longer, but we need to leave soon."
  20. Depressing note you have there, Zepher.
  21. 'Course. They didn't show the game here, so that's why we won. I'm a bad luck charm.

  22. Because my awful chiefs owned their sorry butts somehow.

  23. "I don't think that you'd be best to stay behind, Sweetie," Jess says, addressing Haldor. "They're going to need a cleric to heal their wounds."
  24. "We'll talk about this later, Guts."
  25. "Sure, Guts, here you go," Jess says as she hands Haldor 13 gold.
