  1. Just survived Oryx at Level 11!
  2. Jess returned to the hall after a long rest from her ordeal. She noticed she had two cookies in her pack. Vaguely remembering something about increasing health and power, Jess ate both cookies, receiving +1 to health and power. She then signed her name on for quests 27 and 28.
  3. Aaaaand... The warrior is dead. Got surrounded and shotgunned in the godlands. Ah well, it was nice while it lasted. On to knight!
  4. Finally broke 20 with Warrior!
  5. I hate to say "I told you so", but I told you so.
  6. Oh wow, the guild hall has changed a bit since I've last been on. It's so much more grandiose now! Oh, I'm back, by the way.
  7. I can't find my stupid camera! D:

  8. Can't. Find. Stupid. Camera. *annoyed with self*

  9. Oh good, it's not just me. Google Chrome is dragging its butt also.
  10. Sorry Doc, my power went out for a second due to the storms moving through my state. It was enough to turn everything off. Sorry!
  11. Let me check real quick. EDIT: USMidWest.
  12. I've finally figured out how to get RotMG going. So I'd like to join the guild. TLSisco is the name.
  13. No please, I welcome constructive criticism! Yes, the repeating of 'mist' struck me, too. I just couldn't think of what to say, really. Thanks for that suggestion though, it really helps to get the wheels turning! --------------------------------- To be brutally honest, I'm an American. Even worse, an American that's never been out of the country. So my knowledge of "European streets" is pretty limited. I'm putting "European street" in as a placeholder in this first edition. It's just his current-self dreaming of a strange place. I make this obvious in the next bit, don't worry. Thank you! I do try to get my descriptions done well. I've decided on third person omniscient. We'll see Martin's thoughts, Martin's feelings... Think the perspective of Harry Potter. Again yes, I'll make it clear in the next bit that it's a dream. Thank you for the clear and detailed constructive criticism!
  14. Here's the first bit of the book, for your reading enjoyment: Please bear in mind that this is first version, straight from my notebook. I'm open to suggestions, but be kind please!
  15. It's a bit of both. It's part romance, part adventure. It's told completely from Martin's perspective, though. My current reason is that Russia reveals that when the U.S.S.R. fell, they secretly put in a shadow government. The dictator steps out, and declares war on all nations with democracy. Kind of out there, I know, but I'm still working on it a bit. Well, sometimes when Martin's unit goes to evacuate civilians, a battle has already begun. They're often caught in the crossfire. And you have to remember that Martin and Luna have been dreaming of each other for a year, thinking that one another was a figment of his or her imagination. There's at least some affection there. And a personal tragedy for each character will occur to drive Martin to desert. I'm not offended, and you didn't come across that way, don't worry! I'm aware that this book could have a fairly shallow plot, but I'll try to at least make it interesting. As for a sequel... I've decided against a full blown series. But I was thinking perhaps having the first book in Martin's perspective, and the second in Luna's; that is, if I decide to have a second book. I could just do a "part one/part two thing in one book, shifting perspectives. Of course, I'm open to ideas and constructive criticism.
  16. "I come from a huge forest in the South. I know, stereotyping myself here, but I can't help where I've come from. The trees are hundreds of feet tall, with a reddish bark. Fronds litter the forest, and game is abundant. That's why most of my kinfolk are rangers now; they honed their bow skills by hunting the wood. I'm not that bad with a bow myself, you know. "
  17. Yeah, that's sort of what I was leaning toward. Anything else?
  18. "Well, the quest was full of lies, deceit, temptation, and apparently a curse from my old buddy Wren. She tempted me with a heap of gold to let go of Haldor. She lied to me constantly. Always whispering in my ear. Telling me I was better than Haldor. Telling me he wasn't good enough for me. But he is. I believe that Haldor is my match made in Heaven. I love him unconditionally."
  19. Thank you! Do you think I should make a series of it?
  20. Good to be back! Jess will have a new class and outfit tonight!

  21. Where are the balloons? Do I get a cake? :P

  22. I just started writing a book. I was inspired by a dream of an Irish girl that was incredibly detailed. The next day, I saw the exact same girl on an album cover while listening to Pandora. I had never seen the girl before in my life. So I thought what would happen if I dreamed of a girl, perhaps repeatedly, then met her in real life? So I began writing a book. Martin, the protagonist, is a High School student in the U.S. He dreams of a girl named Luna, an Irish girl. Martin dreams of Luna for about a year, believing that she is a figment of his imagination. Then, in his senior year, World War Three suddenly begins. The Draft is reinstated, and he is drafted into a unit that evacuates civilians from battle zones. He is deployed to Ireland, where he evacuates civilians. He meets Luna, and after some internal turmoil, deserts the army and runs off with her. I think that will be the end of book one. I'm still debating on whether I want to make a series out of this, though. Thoughts?
  23. Jess listened, her face darkening with every word. "I'm here, hon. I missed you so much! I love you... "I suddenly went blind. I couldn't speak or move. But I could hear every word that was said. I slept intermittently, but kept waking up to darkness. That bitch Wren..." Jess' mood brightened considerably at the arrival of her old friend. "Tesni! So good to see you again!"
  24. It all returned to Jess in a flash of light. She was sitting at the table with Haldor, her eyes open. Haldor was passed out, presumably drunk. "Haldor? What happened?"
  25. Huzzah! New (well, fairly new) computer is set up and ready to go! In fact, I'm typing on it as we speak! So good to be back... So much I need to catch up on... Which I will do tomorrow when I get home tomorrow evening. If you didn't catch the message, I'm back! But I'll talk tomorrow.
