  1. Oh, dear, I almost forgot about this thing. I've been insanely busy this year, what with school and plays things like that, and I only write when I'm sufficiently relaxed and don't have anything more pressing going on. I'm going to try to resurrect this story this summer.
  2. That "unknown" would be Scabior the snatcher, a character I would really love to have.
  3. I don't know, penultimate showdown is a pretty imposing title, but then again, I would have liked a set named forbidden tree, so that shows what I know.
  4. This reminds me of nightmare before christmas.
  5. I don't want to turn this into a huge discussion about the Potter books, but I feel that this should be defended. J. K. Rowling's writing style is much more real and stylized than many writers, this, along with giving the story the immersive feel it has, can make certain points feel less dramatic than other writers would have made them. She also has a very distinct writing style in that (with the exception of the first chapter or two) the book is always from Harry's point of view, without being first person, and the readers aren't allowed to know anything he doesn't. The schematics of the battle, with the chaos and nobody being able to really see what's happening would have made it impossible to have made Moody's death any more dramatic without totally ruining the scene. Now, after that elongated display of my opinions on this matter, a word about lego. I was at TRU yesterday and there was no trace of any Knight Busses, or any othe Potter sets (even the old ones were sold out). That hardly justifies the paragraph above, but sometimes I just have t get my opinions out there. Sorry.
  6. I'm disappointed in lego, when I first saw pictures of the cars sets I thought that they would be using the traditional windshield piece and other existing pieces to create the faces of the cars, instead of all these new molds. That's just the sort of thing I like and the fact that so many new molds from the cars sets could be made from existing pieces kinda ticks me off.

  8. I smell a celebrity endorsement!
  9. Spoiler alert! I don't want to hear anything about the new movie.
  10. I think the last one looks like the bad guys from Jimmy Neutron.
  11. The promos look interesting, except that they all only have Harry, I'm going to have enough soon to do two full seven Potters scenes. But that's to be expected from the closed minded producers of toys, to them all minor characters are incapable of selling products. Anyway, the sets do seem like a nice piece assortment, it could include some nicer pieces, but these should fit in quite well with the existing sets.
  12. I'd love to see Bill Weasley and Mad-Eye Moody. Tonks and Sirius would be fantastic as well.
  13. I do agree that it does look pretty similar to the Yule Ball pic, but you pulled an image from towards the end of the Yule Ball scene, as you can see from my pic, he does have a cape at the beginning and he takes it off. If you can see past Ron's pink ruffles, you can see Harry does have a cape and it actually makes him look like a wizard. I, personally would have rather had Ron in dress robes. They are definitely more iconic that Harry's.
  14. I like that it's dress robe harry, but I wish his dress robes were more frilly and crazy, like Ron's in the 4th movie. They could have at least included a cape to make him look more wizardly and less like a normal tuxedo.
  15. That's fantastic. I particularly like the statue although I would like to see the large scale wizard on the top. Really cool.
  16. Dude, not cool. I am appalled that someone would be so immature as to post that, here of all places. Harry Potter is considered my many (including myself) to be one of society's triumphs of literature and imaginative thinking. There are millions of adults who love it, and billions of young adults who adore it, there's even a very successful club dedicated to it at my high school. Just because you may feel that we're being "childish" for liking Harry Potter doesn't give you the right to act like an immature piece of shit (pardon my french) and spew intolerant nonsense at many many people who love this piece of beautifully crafted literature. Maybe you could learn something about care, compassion and kindness by actually reading the series. Most of us "children" at least have the common decency not to seek out a thread dedicated to something that we don't believe is particularly interesting, or useful and blatantly insult it, knowing full well how many people would be offended. I am amazed that there are people out of high school who still get a kick out of upsetting other people like that. I for one would appreciate it if you would keep comments like that to yourself, or get off this forum. Yeh jackass.

  19. I've changed my mind, these sets seem pretty good, but LEGO is not doing a good job with this line. They have the biggest event of the decade, and they're not making a slew of sets for it, only a few at a time. These sets are some of LEGO's bestselling, they've got tho movies being released closing one of the biggest franchises in the world, and they're re making the knight bus of all things, and not capitalizing on such a huge battle as the battle of Hogwarts. I do like the details in the new Hogwarts set, and Lupin's new face, but I still hate his hair. I hope they fix Narcissa's hair, it's supposed to be mainly blonde and have dark brown, almost black on the top, and unless LEGO knows something that I don't, her hair isn't in that style either. The talking head is kinda lame.
  20. That set is awful, I thought LEGO might actually put some time into Harry Potter's best scene ever. It's like they don't even care what they're designing anymore. I thought we might have some nice architecture and a double scale (mini-fig on inside, model on outside) like the last Hogwarts, I'm sorely disappointed at this.
  21. No they couldn't. Nagini is a horcrux. You can't just NOT KILL a horcrux.
  22. Ravenclaw common room, big part in Hallows, neglected completely by lego.

I have brought you, that our passions may fuse and merge - in your mind you've already succumbed to me dropped all defences completely succumbed to me - now you are here with me: no second thoughts, you've decided, decided . . . http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AgentNickWolfe/mocs/Phantom/poto4.jpg Past the point of no return - no backward glances: our games of make believe are at an end . . .
