Nico71's Creations
nico71 replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks ! I am working on the rear of the Morgan. It is quite difficult, not because of the shape, but because of the homogeneity of the constructions ! I am trying to mix flex / panel and classic beam design. :) -

Nico71's Creations
nico71 replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Jeep Differentials cracks because of the 12th gear inside, what it is impossible to figure out. With the unimog, it is 3 times faster and the gears can't crack, the motor stalls. the differential is good for turning abilities but it is quite difficult to anticipate the diff's sliding. Again rammacco, many thanks for the offer but I can't be in belgium at this meeting, too bad ! I hope you will create a post or topic to see Trial Truck in motion during this meeting. -

LPub doesn't shop Flex Axles
nico71 replied to Jurgen Krooshoop's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hello, if Lpub crash during the loading, you may verify if you have install Ldview or Ldglite (in the preference option), then ensure you to have the model.pli in the corect folder (again in the preference option). Regarding the flex part, you may install it when you install Lsynth. I have attached the file Lsynth.zip, extracte it an copy in C:/program file/Ldraw/apps. I have attache the file Lpub.zip, extract it and copy in C:/program file/ (this is the version 4). Then have a close look to the mlcad.ini because lot of line of code refer to lsynth and you must correct if the path is not good. I have attached mine, you can copy and erase yours but check the path before launch mlcad (this is the last version or mlcad.ini modified by J.C Tchang). Then, you can launch Plub. You can download the file here : http://nicolas.lespour.free.fr/fichiers/images/Lego/Lpub4/Lynth-mlcad.zip I hope you will figure out, the most common problem with lpub is about the lsynth, which is almost always a problem of instal or pathing ps : don't hesitate to mail me. I don't go often on the forum but I respond to every mail I receive and I am quite good to debug Lpub (last : Lpub setup project crashes when there is a line break before the list of part...) -
I have decided to create this topic to show you my lastest creation because one topic per creation is not very good, I have already lot of page to manage (but thanks David, to have featured some of my best creations ;) My latest truck : Unimog V4 : Off course with the building instruction and bild of material. This is not a dismantling photo sequence but a building photo sequence : http://www.nico71.fr/trial-unimog-v4/ :)

nico71 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes my bad, building with SR3D and mlcad sometime gives some bugs or mistakes. Like the axle 2L black instead or red and some other mistake. I repeat myself, but your work is impressive Nathan and always happy to help you in anything. -
Nathanaël Kuipers's Concept Car
nico71 replied to Anio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have created many building instructions for my models, sometimes with a real good visual with Lpub (maybe 20% of my moc, half have instructions). I know the time spent in so I understand the fee even if my work is free (I have also considered the other way). So very good building Nathanael and good job joshua, you have done an impressive work ! But I have a question : why the instruction looks so like the lego one ? why not be more "exotic" or different ? Because the visual of the instruction are far from what Lpub gives. And for the business vs hobbys : personaly I earn money with my youtube video so my lego work tends more to business that hobbys but still be a hobby. Before my motto was "fun and building", today it is "innovation and building" because to be atractive, the moc have to be surprising. For the idiot question about "please instruction!!!!" I have made a special FAQ page of my website : http://www.nico71.fr/faq/ I will resume the whole sentence by that : "if you are a 11-year old boy and want I build a tank for you : don’t contact me" :) -

Wow, you have done a good work ! I am a student un mechanical engineering and it is always interesting to know more about our lego parts, especialy the mechanical field. Therefore, many thanks to you, you acheived an usefull and interesting work ! At Setechnic.com, we have many crane-builders who migh be interested in your study (regarding the design of boom and jib). -

Trial Jeep
nico71 replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is nice from you but please remove the link. I want to be the only one who distribute the PDF (very important for me). For the moment, I don't have the possibility to do the PDF. In second, the PDF will be in high resolution, in twice more resolution. The PDF you make is based on low resolution sample on my webiste (but still enough to built). So please be patient until I publish the PDF. The PDF will be release in only one week. And thanks for the comment :) -
I will present my Trial Jeep : The jeep is a AWD built for truck trial. It is for me a new breakthrough with 5-link portal live axle, new frame, completly new design with the BB inside (on the lowest point) and with differentials. Yes I know why differentials in TT ? In fact I was boring by the Trial truck which don't turn enought, so I would implement this and it works ! Of course sometime the wheel slip but I prefered with the differential, regarding tunring abilities. The clibbing abilities are good, thanks to the axle. I have also included detailed interior with dashboard, seat, rearseat, exhaust. The bodywork is also modular, it is fixed with only pins. You can see here the drivetrain, with the main gear-box and axle. Last but not the least : I have done a complete building instruction in 41 pages. Visit http://www.nico71.fr/trial-jeep/ for the building instructions. And to finish, a complete rendering of the model : I hope you will apreciated. It is for me my best Truck trial, and I like the design, more than normal truck.

Centrifugal Tachometer
nico71 replied to nico71's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As the PFS-M motor turn slower, I must change the centrifugal governor : add weigh or increase the lenght of beam. :) -
some news : I have figure out all problem I have for the payment BUT I will not launch finally the service. I explain you why : In fact I have always done my work in lego for free and now selling instruction embarrasses me. I think (finally) that selling thnig from hobbys is not the correct way to develop it. Although the price is low, I consider that the most valuable thing I can do to develop and encourage the production of instruction is providing for free. I don't judge people who sell instructions, because this is their choices but for me I assume that it is not the right way to monetize our passion (I already receive incomes from youtube for my videos so the money is not the point for me). Concerning the amount of time to create an instruction, if I had launched the service, I would have spent lot of time to create instructions and not to create models (creation is important for me). So many thank for people who contact me to become a instruction sellers. Continue to give for free, it is more rewarding for me :)
