Patience, Grasshopper. I'm a very busy man! X-D Most of those yellow panels come from 8147 Bullet Run which uses an identical method to make the wheel arches on one of the racers.

Nice work Gylman, JP-30 and Xenologer. I like the modifications you made Xenologer, especially the front windscreen and the new wheels. The wheels really improve the look of the vehicle. I love reverse engineering Lego sets. Here's my attempt: The wheels and axles are from 7731 Post Van. The finished Jeep. It will be interesting to see who's got closest to the actual design!

I'm a little disappointed in hearing that the minifig torsos will be stickers, but at the same time it's great news that we'll be able to order extra stickers sheets through Lego Factory. This means it will be easy to replace lost or damaged ones, and easy to convert more of my existing minifigs to Star Justice! This weekend I've been messing around trying to work how to build Chris' Star Justice scooter, here's what I came up with: I've made one small modification so that the pilot can fit air tanks on her back. Here's how I think the engine goes. Am I close? Our daring pilot after a particularly hard landing. Still, any landing you can walk away from is a good one eh?

Of course what we're all really waiting for is TLC to release a Fabuland Space line! ;-) Seriously though, I'd like to say welcome to Mark and Chris. I've been a fan of your creations for a long time. Thanks guys for all the hard work you've put into these new sets and the other stuff you do as Lego Ambassadors. My initial reaction to the pictures: Awesome!!! *wub* This is the best news for Classic Space fans since the release of Blacktron/Futuron (I liked Space Police as well, but for me it all went downhill from then on)! I love the style of the Star Justice set with it's old skool flyer and base made from modern components. It echoes the original designs featured in the line when it had it's debut back in 1979: I would buy this one just get those cool new space torsos. This is the kind of thing I had hoped for from Mars Mission but was disappointed. Much better colours! Even if the plans you guys came up with don't include a large craft, I'm just itching to see how big a space ship I can build using all the parts in the set! And the Space Skulls... anyone who loves anime as much as I do could never get tired of Giant Tentacled Skulls of Doom! Don't listen to the nay-sayers! I'm totally looking forward to picking these up (even though I'll have to jettison a lot of my 2008 wants-list to do so) and also playing with the new parts in LDD and hearing more about your creative process when you guys can finally talk about it!

Those are just beautiful Alex! *wub* I'd like to wax lyrical about your building style, but Asuka beat me to it! ;-) All the buildings are awesome but my favourite is the Bank Corner. There are some truely innovative building techniques in that one (didn't I say you were a genius?). I also love your use of curved road plates to create a town "square" (or should that be circle) with a neat griffin statue in the middle. I'm still wrestling in my own mind about which building style to go for, CC or classic town, and this beautiful hybrid has given me a whole lot more to think about. The classic open back style has one really big advantage; it uses far less bricks so you can build a lot more buildings with what you have! X-D

Yes that's the picture that's referenced on the front of the new Town Plan box. The neat thing is, that little boy is actually Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen!

Actually the version on the right (which I call type 2) is closer in design, and uses more bricks from the original 7731. The version on the left (type 1) had to be rebuilt from the ground up using totally different bricks, and yet it looks more like the original.I have been experimenting with Asuka's idea and have created type 3: Although I still prefer type 2:

Thanks for the review Yoda! I knew I wanted both of these sets as soon as I first saw them. At last a return of the postal theme... now, where's the Post Office??? One problem - the Mail Van has failed to appear in any of my local shops (I live too far from nearest Lego brand store, and I refuse to pay postage on top of SaH's prices)! Fortunately I was in Paris last week with my wife and picked it up at Galeries Lafayette. You might think that's a long way to travel for a 6.50 Euro set, but since we were there anyway for another reason *wub* , this was just an added bonus. My first throught on opening the set was... I'm going to be buying several more of these! The actual design of the set irritates me somewhat. I hate the wheels, because they don't sit in the arches properly. The reason they don't sit in the arches is due to the use of this piece: ...but that piece is one the reasons I'm going to buy several of this set! It hasn't appeared in a set since 2003. Hey TLC, how about making Asuka's wish come true and putting some proper doors in too? Oh, and Alex, you're a genius! Indy's bag to carry the mail in - why didn't I think of that? Personally I think that the bag works really well in it's existing colour. The postmen and postwomen I see locally often have a battered brown satchel. Chuck's right - a black one would be better as a designer handbag. So, here are my 7731 mods. Oi! TLC! No! Either use those wheel arches properly or don't use them at all you muppets!

Nice review, Dr. S! I have been thinking long and hard about the scale of the planes in my town. I would like to keep my passenger planes in their classic 4-wide fuselage style, but I really don't mind the new plane hull pieces if they are used as an enormous transport plane like the Ilyushin-76. Unfortunately I can't afford this lovely new green one at the moment (which would be perfect to go with my green army) as I took too much of a hit buying the new 2008 Star Wars sets! But I have modified my white one to take huge cargo loads, in fact my APC is designed specifically to fit inside. Unfortunately I'm a bit busy to take pics at the moment, but hope to put some up soon.

I think that's kind of the point of this poll; which set you prefer is determined by whether you like the old smaller classic open-back style of town, or the large new modular 4-sided extra-detailed style....I still can't decide!!!!!!! *wacko*

There's actually quite a lot of official Lego wallpapers that can be downloaded for free. If you go to the Lego.com Products Page, each theme has it's own mini-website. Within each site if you go to the Downloads section, and then Wallpapers you will find quite a lot of cool stuff.

I like this a lot. As soon as I saw it, I immediately started to wonder how I could do this with my hopper wagons. A list of extra parts would be very useful. As for the instructions, I'm sure I can work it out!
-
I wanted to make the APC very compact so it would fit inside a transporter that I'm working on. However, you've spotted it's major drawback: It's so compact that I can't get the driver and the two soldiers out without taking the whole model apart. I just have to imagine they climb out... somehow! :-D

They're definitely recessed new windows in this set I'm afraid, just in case no-one has answered your question yet.I got this set in Woolworths the other day. Tescos have it too now. I have to say it's my all time favourite Police helicopter. Nice review PSP guy!

Neat story, but it would be even better if there were some pictures to illustrate it. Doesn't the Albrickuerque Cross have a photographer on it's staff? :-D

Nice review phoinix. I *wub* this set! You can have endless fun thinking up lots of mini carriages and trucks to add. As for track, it seems to run very nicely on these old style Lego rails: I like the challenge of seeing what you can build with a really limited group of parts. I came up with this alternative just by adding 5 parts and a minifig: See full details in this topic.

After observing the arming up of it's neighbouring city-states, New Block City has decided to create it's own military and join the EN purely for it's own defense. Our largest (and only) arms manfacturer, the General Block Corporation, also sees this a an opportunity to export it's unique weapons designs to other members and make a quick buck or two! Inspired by the beautiful green military vehicles of Doctor Sinister, the General Block Corporation's designs are compact enough to fit down your city streets and are thus ideal for urban conflicts. I want to continue to experiment with these models, so I'll be updating this topic as and when I come up with new designs. Here is picture of the entire army so far, waiting to cross the border at Checkpoint Timmy (Sort of like Checkpoint Charlie, only the guy manning the guard hut has a Timmy face! :-D ). The latest addition is the ultra-compact T700 Main Battle Tank (more details in a post below): The T4837 Light Truck (cargo version) is made almost entirely from 4837 Mini Trains adding just 5 pieces plus a minifig: Add a few more bricks, and it becomes a fighting truck! Note the nifty folding tailgate: The left over wheels from 4837 have been used in the T38 Armoured Personnel Carrier. It's armed with two forward-facing mortars and four machine gun ports, two on each side: The APC can carry two soldiers as well as the driver, with storage for their guns on the inside of the rear door:

Nothing to be ashamed about! :-)When I want to find the approxmate going rate for stuff I just do a search on Bricklink. I just did a search for 7146 TIE Fighter, and a used one with no box, instructions or figures is around $15, while a new one that's still sealed in it's box is around $30. Of course you would have to pay postage on top of that.

Hi folks, just got back from Woolworths and they are having one of their 25% off promotional periods on ALL Exo-Force, including all the new 2008 sets. These promotional periods usually last only a week or two, and usually apply to all Woolworths across the country, so hustle on down to your local store and pick up those bricks while they're cheap! Also, the following sets have appeared since I was last there: 7733 Truck and Forklift, 7620 Motorcycle Chase, and 7671 AT-AP. These sets are sadly not reduced!

Excellent review Nausicaakro. Welcome to Eurobricks! Even though I have to agree with some of my other Eurobricks colleagues that I quite like the speeder, I'm always interested in a different point of view that's nicely stated like yours. Like you I too would prefer yellow faces, mainly because I've been a Star Wars Lego collector since the line started, and most of my figs are still yellow, so I'd like the new ones to match! I've managed to find yellow replacements for most of my new Star Wars figs, but this one's got me stumped. I can't find a yellow face with a chin strap. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Wow, cool find Chuck! From the parts listed here, I think these new mini TIE and snowspeeder models will look quite different to the ones we've seen before.

What an excellent set! I picked one up on Monday, and loved it so much I went and got another today (Thursday). I've always wanted minifig compatible versions of the two big droids and I've tried building my own but could never get the design right. For information: the wheels on the Haifire Droid are fixed in place, but the track links fit loosely around the transparent radar dishes so they sort of slide, but not very well. I've removed one link from each wheel so that the links fit real tight, and modified the model so that the wheels spin, and it now rolls along, sweet as a nut! X-D Plus points: A whole bunch of droids to build your army, excellent designs of the two large droids, flick-fire missiles that actually work well (unlike the irritating ones on the ISD and Hoth Rebel Base) and NO STICKERS, yay! Minus points: The horrific price.

Egads! I got this set today and I do believe that Mr. Felth may be correct! The printing on the stormtrooper helmet is ever so slightly different to the ones we've seen before. From a distance or in the right light they look identical but the difference is there nontheless.Awesome set by the way. Not too much of a rip-off in the UK and I for one love the Crapship. I could have done without the stickers, but I can think of many other uses for them apart from this model so I don't mind too much. I can't wait to see Shacala's mods.

Neat story HC. I'm really looking forward to the impulse sets too. It's been a long time since there were any Minifig sets that were small enough you can just buy one on a whim at the supermarket etc. No sign of them round here yet tho. :-( I also love the neat town buildings you've used for the background to this tale. They really are excellent examples of the classic style. I assume that RundFunk is a record store, or mayby they just sell all kinds of round funky things. :-D

Excellent tumbler, Exobuilder! This is one of my all-time favourite Batman vehicles, and hopefully the official Lego version will be much better than the rather lame Batmobile we got in 2006. There are a lot of tumbler MOCs out there on the internet, and if you want some tips on how to improve your own, I'd have a look at what other people have come up with. I like different parts of each of the MOCs I've seen. My favourite overall is the one built by BaronSat, but even he doesn't have as many cool side details as yours, like your triple exhausts which I love. He uses two of these pieces for the front windscreens: (Click on the image for Peeron list of what sets it can be found in) and he uses these wheels for the front: But his MOC is larger than yours, so I would maybe try this wheel: I hope these comments are helpful, and good luck with your building!
