  2. I would go for the 6399 Airport Shuttle :)
  3. Super great work getting this built up to this size and capturing the actual ship look and feel! Any idea how heavy it is?
  4. Fantastic and incredibility big MOC, will be nice if one can see it up close in real life...
  5. great work indeed... Thanks for sharing this great piece!
  6. Hello all, i managed to get my hands on a 7470 Space Shuttle Discovery-STS-31 and decided to share some pictures on this set as well as some comparison shots of the 10213 space shuttle set. Sorry if my photos are amateurish. Should you require reference or the review on 10213, please check out dr_spock's review. Enjoy! This is the front of the 7470 space shuttle. It has a more blocky but has a more solid look. Side view of the 7470 space shuttle. Not so spectacular due to the holes... Back view of the 7470 space shuttle Bottom view of the 7470 space shuttle, The yellow technic parts are used to lower the front and back landing gears. This is the shuttle's cockpit. while 1 minifig can fit inside, it wont be secure. Shuttle's cargo area, Satellite and deploying arm of shuttle Without the satellite. Sorry i can't take a photo with the satellite on the arm as i am missing some technic parts :( . Note the rubber bands used for the landing gears The shuttle's tail is moveable (left and right) Comparing 10213's Satellite and 7470's Satellite 10213 and 7470 front shot - Some how having a windscreen pieces looks much better than slopes 10213 and 7470 side shot 10213 and 7470 side shot 2 10213 and 7470 top view - Aligning them from the back engine, 7470 is longer 10213 and 7470 back view - the 7470 smaller engines are held with technic bricks so they are more sturdy. Fun shot 10213, 7470 , 6544, 6339 shuttle. Building the 7470 was fun however maybe slightly challenging if you are not a technic person, took about 2 hrs to finish building it. Comparing this with 10213, i think the 7470 shuttle has the look and feel of the real shuttle. If you like space shuttles and have the chance to grab hold of this shuttle for a decent price, do get it as well as it is well worth it. :)
  7. Thanks for the Great review with those extra real life pictures of the Opera House. The set does capture some essence of the real Sydney Opera House but not from all angles and close ups esp from the sides does look a bit funny in my view. Guess it is a must have for Architecture fans :)
  8. Happy Birthday WhiteFang, have a great day and year ahead!
  9. I for one will also like Blacktron to come back as a space theme. However i would like them to come out as a whole space theme themselves rather than complete each set with a good guy's vehicle. Using Sp3 as a comparison where they included the bad guys and their vehicles, i felt that the quality and design of the sp3 vehicles could have been better if they concentrated only one space police ships or bases in one set. While they had a modern look and feel but somehow it was lagging that solid built look for the kind of pricing. However looking at it, i guess it made sense since a kid who fixes up most of the SP3 sets would have a good and bad guy's ship to play with immediately. Not sure if this is too retro these days, but having a new blacktron series with some sets planned out with light and sound (optional) will definitely be a plus.
  10. Hmmm a recent increase of lego minifigs in the SG media in the recent months.. and now moving to posters too.. Thanks for sharing whitefang
  11. Using firefox and IE mainly but to me, not much difference in terms of loading speed. 99% of the time the pages load properly and fast enough. If you didnt mention about the upgrade, guess i would have not known about it.
  12. For the networking part, to be able to log on a network = you need a server (windows home server edition) and do the necessary setup (example: http://www.howtogeek.com/57729/how-to-make-windows-home-server-into-a-domain-controller/). Frankly its lots of work and maintenance down the road, and isnt cheap. If your aim is just to get storage and have files to be accessible to all home pcs, all you need is a router which handles dhcp so that it can assign an ip to any pc connected to it and a NAS. 2 - 4 bay NAS is a good start.
  13. Very nice indeed! You managed to bring back those blacktron sets with a modern twist.. Looking forward to see more of your creations!

  20. Hello all, My first review on EB on the set 21100, the Shinkai 6500 Submarine. A unique set only available for sale in Japan and the first set made via LEGO and its partner Cuusoo. Enjoy! LEGO Set No/Name 21100 Shinkai 6500 Submarine Theme: TLG/ Cuusoo Released: 2010 Pieces: 412 Minifigs: 0 Price: ¥ 4,830 Continuing on to the back of box, shows some actual photos of the actual submarine, as well as some facts about the submarine. Opening the box, unlike most other sets with lots of air, this set is very compact! The parts when unpacked, from what is stated in Brickset, there are only 412 parts. Some shots of the instruction booklet, also different from the mainstream sets, book has pages describing the submarine, the operations, author, mostly in Japanese. Another shot of the instruction booklet, shown below the last view of the submarine as it is to be displayed. As well as some information on the marine life encountered by the submarine deep in the ocean. As you may already know, Cuusoo requires 1000 supporters to get a set produced, however it must be also feasible to make. This page (and another 2 pages) shows this, but i dont think all names are listed, as counting the total i only got 353 (21 rows x18 columns - 4), But at the end of the last name, they put 1066 names. The Dreaded Sticker Sheet (DSS) -> Since it small and cushioned by the instruction booklet at the bottom of the box and tightly compacted by the parts, it was in good condition! Starting out with actual building the building, the base, The black sticker is meant to be pasted on the centre bottom tile, wished it was printed as in the other Architecture sets Completing the left side of the base, some rock formation with hot underwater vents Believe the below is for some deep water lifeforms (crabs, octopus, etc?) Completing the base, the technic axle is to hold the submarine at a tilted angle. Now for the submarine, will not be going to the whole process of fixing it up, more of almost completed shots. The submarine is made modular, this is the rear section. The rear tail piece is rare in terms of the color orange and only appears in this set. Also the 2 round stickers go on both sides of the orange tail. Another look at the rear section, the propeller turns. The midsection 1/2 completed. The midsection completed How the mid and rear section fit together The front section 1/2 completed Note the bottom 1x1 round plates, those are supposed to be cameras Another view of the front section, oh yes, the 2 white stickers goes on the White 4 x 2 Wedge How the front section joins the mid section The final piece, the view ports, sample baskets, and claw arms. That goes into the mid section black Technic pins. Completed set in modules Everything put together on the base. Spares, may have missed some 1x1 round white plate. But the spares can be used to extend the rock formation/gases to your liking. Fun shot - how big is the submarine? About 1/2 the size of the 10213 shuttle from the claw arms. Conclusion Overall, it is an easy set to build, i like the modular building process which also makes it easy to keep.As with all Architecture sets, it is more for a display piece rather than for heavy play. Using price per price, it is slightly pricey, however being a rare set with only 10000 sets produced, it is definitely worth the price. Comments welcomed!

    MOC: Abydos

Very nice moc indeed. Hard to capture scenes like this and you did it perfectly!! Hope to see more Stargate scenes from you soon!
  22. Like the rest mentioned, Very refreshing and nice color scheme, however less or no lion heads for my preference.. I think maybe you can have another level (3rd level) before ending with the roof (dark brown bricks), seems very long from the 2nd level to the roof. However still a WIP so looking forward to see more! Regardless, Great work!
  23. Very nice indeed. Like the solar panels. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Happy New Year everyone here in EB! Hope it will be another great year! @BrickWild, its gonna be a rabbit year for 2011
  25. Hello lightningtiger, was trying to hold off comments till the finished product, but its just looking great after the stickers are added in! Just wondering will you be extending/ building up the whole building?
