  1. If you mean "borrow the idea", then go ahead ;-) Thanks! You are right, the original set has great potential. The modifications I did took not that much time. I'm still planning to make an interior for this house and work on the garden side. But currently I'm using all my time to sort Lego. I've bought several big Lego collections (on second hand markets and eBay) and those bricks all need to be sorted by color and shape. Not a nice job, but it has to be done. Once that is done (whenever that is) I'll continue on my MOCs. Here's a link to a collection I bought this weekend on eBay.
  2. Welcome here AC !!
  3. I always love to see another MOC from you and this one is no different. This barn house would make a perfect decor for a spaghetti western. Like all your MOCs, it has a clean and decent design with a perfect color scheme. One of my favorite details is the fireplace. The only constructive criticism I can offer is to make it look less "clean". This looks like a brand new barn house. Especially the interior looks shiny and new. My guess it that you wanted to make this barn house look old and creepy. Some more mess and garbage would make it more convincing.
  4. I hope the creator is not a member... The ship is not bad, there is just some room for improvement. Loose 1 or 2 colors, move the guns down and it will look a lot better. Also the stern (back) of the ship should be lower to look more realistic. Can anyone find some pics of those rocks with the islanders?
  5. The background of this picture with the rocks and the islanders on the rocks looks amazing. Too bad we don't have better pictures or close-ups. About the ship, I think is liked the original version better than this modified version. I was not very positive about the original color schema of the BSB. Adding an extra color certainly doesn't improve it.
  6. Welcome at Eurobricks... Have fun here !!
  7. Very good for a first attempt. But why does that poor walrus always have to be hit? Can't you be more nice to him? :-D
  8. Nice review!! I'll headline it next on Classic-Pirates. I'm not so crazy about the set. I rated it 3. It has some nice figs, but I don't thing it took a long time to design this. The parts are very useful for MOC-ing and the I like the colors. And it did have a very interesting price!
  9. And now headlined on Classic-Pirates !!!
  10. Don't worry, I have no plans for coming to that cold country of yours :-D Impressive army! I just love to watch these armies, can't get enough of them. Combine that army with the firepower of the fortress and you'll have a serious obstacle for any invading army. Is the fortress near the sea? Some bombing from the sea followed by a frontal attack maybe....
  11. For making this difficult choice, I'll start by looking at the minifigs because those are very important for me. When pirates came out and had this wonderful imperial soldier figs which consisted of several parts (shako-hat, backpack, epaulets, great torso design), I immediately fell in love. This fig was much more complex and beautiful than anything from the past. For army building those are very well suited. By modifying the epaulets (with other colors) and the pants you can use them to make a very realistic Napoleonic army. However, the western figs are also well suited for army building. I have several of them and I like them a lot. Too bad there was never released any confederate soldiers (the grey ones). The pirates did come with a red variant of the imperial soldier (imperial guard) and having that extra "nation" faction is a big advantage of pirates over western. Comparing the sets is difficult. The pirate theme has more sets, but they are not all of high quality. The western theme has less sets but the quality is high in general. I'm a big fan of the Legoredo fortress. I have one in my collection and I plan to buy a second one because they go so cheap sometimes on eBay. Comparing the Legoredo fortress and Eldorado fortress is difficult. I don't think I can make a choice between those. The MOCability level of both themes is equal for me. I'm seeing great western MOCs in the history forum and I just love watching those. But also the pirate forum is producing some excellent MOCs. This is a draw for me. Both themes are well suited for making MOCs. I can't make a choice based on this. Conclusion: My choice goes to pirates because I like the minifigs better (I'm not talking about the characters Lego developed, just the looks). But Western is my number 2 !
  12. Welcome here Matn !! It always feels good to welcome someone from Belgium. In which part of Belgium do you live? Is your first language French or Dutch?
  13. Great writers often had that one book which instantly made them famous. That's what this MOC is for you. It shows how much your skills have improved and the talent you have. I've looked at all the pictures twice already (and I'll look at them again). This is the perfect MOC with a great overall look, incredible details and perfect choices for the colors. Also the way you've placed the minifigs and took the pictures is *y*
  14. You are most welcome here. Have fun and some good discussions.
  15. Great find Simon!! Amazing set... it is sooo playable. This must be the dream of every kid. Moved to the LEGO Trains & Town forum!
  16. We don't really celebrate halloween here in Belgium. Only since a few years there are some halloween parties. But I haven't seen many carved pumpkins like yours. I like this version better :-D
  17. What a beauty !! It's awesome how the landing gear mechanism works. Also the size and look of this MOC are stunning. However, it doesn't seem to have an interior although it must be about MF size. I've invited the creator to join the discussion.
  18. This looks like the real thing. You've made a good choice for the colors. Brown and green go perfect together in this MOC. Not only the outside, but also the inside is very detailed. And those posters on the sides of the car and building give this MOC that little extra.
  19. Just out of curiosity, do you plan to give this list to a hitman? :-D Or what other purpose does your question have?
  20. @jedikermit: Those Star Trek figs of yours really deserve a thread for themselves if you ever get the chance to take some high quality pics.
  21. This is indeed an excellent spot for taking WW pictures. It would be great seeing some more close ups and actions scenes at this place. Nice dogs ;-)
  22. I'm a bit late... Happy birthday !!
  23. Thanks for joining our discussion!! I have some questions for you... How does one start a project of this size? Did you do a lot of research? And how long have you been working on this ship? Would that be you in this picture? One last question, do you like Sinner? X-D :-D
  24. Hello Vina! Welcome here, I hope you have fun discussing Lego.
