I followed your advice and added knees to the Tarantulla. What do you think? (I also made the under-belly gun swivel mounted so it can fire to the sides, and added a few more missiles).

The mandibles can "shoot" out to form a spear/battering ram. Full speed ahead and down goes a robot mecha. I'll see what i can do about the legs. My original idea was that it moved somewhat like a lizard. Shuffling forward, so it didn't need a knee joint.
