No water, just air. The entire thing is real LEGO. The base is from the Xpod series, the main round part is one of the LEGO Holiday ornament globes, and the ribbon is also from the holiday ornament set.

Hi everyone! I wanted to show off my most recent creation, a snow globe. The snow globe is freestanding, or can hang from a tree as an ornament. The base is attached using LEGO ribbon.

Welcome! Come on in to Barney's Book store. Barney sells rare new and used books. A mother and son peruse Barney's collection. Look out for the kids throwing snowballs out front! Thanks for visiting! I had a lot of fun building this one! I recently finished putting together my Winter Bakery and Winter Toy Shop, and couldn't resist building my own shop to go with them. All photos also available on my Flickr

Thanks. I love the challenge of good SNOTwork.

Thank you for the comments, everyone! It seems everyone loves the glass balcony! I just wish I was the first person to put glass onto lever bases like that. I've only ever seen one person do it, in a sci-fi scene that was on Brothers Brick a few months back. I don't remember who it was. He used different glass, but the concept is the same. Absolutely! Ideas are free. Take it and expand on it. Make it your own. Thank you! I always love reading your shining reviews. Puts a big smile on my face.

This is a modular LEGO house built to fit in with other Cafe Corner series buildings. I love how the constraints of CC force me to be creative in new and interesting ways. This whole model started as an idea for the entranceway pillars, which bloomed into what you see here. The house is modeled in Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie Style. I'm happy to read your comments and constructive criticism! Update! I wasn't totally happy with the way the upper right corner looked before, so I've brought the side in a few studs and added a window. The whole second floor has been shortened by one brick. Also, I've added a chimney and some interior lights. Let me know what you think! Larger images are available on my Flickr.

Thank you for the nice comments, everyone! The stud line above the door is mainly there because the lion heads are at an angle. It's hard to tell from the photo, but they lean forward about 30 degrees so that they take up 2 studs worth of horizontal space instead of 1 stud worth. I considered putting cheese on top of them instead, but I don't have any tan cheese yet.

My newest CC style building, inspired by a recent purchase of the original Hogwart's Castle (stairs, lion heads). Tons of snotwork and a couple techniques I've never tried before. I'm super happy with how this turned out. I wasn't really trying for any particular architectural style... this whole building is more of an experiment that ended up looking mildly Asian. I'm happy to read your comments and constructive criticism! Mr. Wong's Curio Shop by Jameson42, on Flickr

Thank you. I can't believe I forgot to post the vig here! I have now updated the original post with the vignette.

Smoke and mirrors! Seriously, though... Yeah, it took a while to figure out how to build the bed around him without making it too big. Lotso is just hanging from the tiles that surround his head. His legs actually reach about 2 plate thicknesses below the bed rail. Can't see it unless you're looking head-on from the side. The main photography issue is actually the "feet". From most angles you can see the thumbs, and that kinda ruins it.
-
So, I was looking at Lotso's arms recently and thought, "Wow, those sure look a lot like feet..." Here's the result! I call it "Goldilotso" or "This bed is too small!" Comments and Constructive Criticism welcome! Update (09/11/2010): I'm not sure how it slipped my mind to post this here, but I created a large vignette featuring this bed about a month ago. It was my first MOC featured on TBB, and I had a lot of fun building it! So, here's the MOC, titled "This little bear has a pituitary problem!":

LEGO Jambalaya is something someone on Flickr started. One person fills a gallon bag with spare LEGO parts. He sends it to someone else, who takes what they'd like and adds enough to fill the bag again. They send it to another person, and so on. Eventually the original person gets the bag back. The jambalaya I was in had 12 or 13 people. Took forever for the bag to get mailed around between us, but it was worthwhile.

Boxes in my car. It's only about an hour drive for me. No interior yet. Like many of my buildings, I just haven't had the motivation to yet. Thanks. My girlfriend hates them because she thinks they're too creepy. My response to that is, "That's the whole point!"

Another building finished in time for BrickWorld! I can't wait to see what people think of this one. Built in Cafe Corner style. I've been tossing this idea around for a few months, ever since getting a slew of reptile heads in a LEGO Jambalaya. Perfect for bankers, don't you think? Staff picture: Full set on Flickr

Lots of 1x2 bricks. The tolerance in part connections allows for a slight curve. Connect enough 1x2s together and you can make a very large circle.
-
The first floor has an interior, but I think I'm going to do a little more work on it before I take pics. No interior on the send floor yet.

I just finished my flower shop! I think the curved walls give it a nice organic feel. Enjoy! All photos also on My Flickr.

I'm bringing enough of my CC-style buildings to fill a large table, as well as a couple Vic Vipers for the memorial display.

I have only purchased the Green Grocer so far. I had it assembled for a few months, while I kept building my own modules to sit alongside it. I then took it apart and used many of the pieces towards my "Luigi's Pizzeria". I plan to purchase at least one more, along with multiple of each of the others. I'd like to leave one of each built, but I want the parts, too - My girlfriend hates to see me take any models apart! We just bought a new house a couple weeks ago, and I'm building a set of built-in bookshelves with about 100 inches of flat space on top. Should fit my CC town nicely!

Have you looked at the directions for the 10197 Fire Brigade? You probably could have used a bunch of clips and rods to hold the letters together.

Victorian? I fail to see the Victorian influence in this building design...

Amazing work! I've been wanting to do a castle-themed CC MOC for a while, and this model does it perfectly. While I love the Foosball table and jukebox, I have to say my favorite parts are the bar flooring and your bay window method! Those tiles work perfectly to cover the gaps between the windows. I will definitely be stealing that for a future model. Good job on your first MOC! I hope to see many more from you.
