MOC: Mountain road and rail cargo station
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to Fistach's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great MOC, I would like to leave in that house on the mountain. The crane that was built on the rock remember me Mount Rushmore! -
Thanks for the hint Thorsten! BR 01-1075 World Heritage!!! Teddy we are all waiting for your building instructions of this masterpiece (the front sliding mechanism seems to be too complex to understand from the general pictures).
-
Hi everyone, thank you very much for all the nice comments!
-
Hi Teddy, this new video is really awesome! I like the rear spot lights on the tender car. Have you planned to build some passenger wagons? I love your perfect style
-
Hi Teddy, I'm me again ...your loco is amazing (I've also seen your short youtube-movie ). I've read and written my opinion weeks ago in the tutorial forum to modify BBB's wheels, but what I means is a standard production of a new wheel with rubber band: I'm talking about a new plastic injection mold. P.S. Today I've spent my time to see your several MOC ...you're a genius!
-
You're right! One of my best steam lego set is the old 7750, and since the production of the Emerald Night (and BBB's Wheels) I've tried to build a new black & red loco with working pistons ...but if you want to see the ultimate BR Loco look Teddy's latest creation: BR 01-1075! Thanks for your comment

Open a 12V motor means break the external shell. In several years I have done this operation only one time (on a very old red motor): it was a success but I'll never do this work again (specially on the same motor ). If the bottom contacts (or the inner track contacts) are rusty you can clean them with a product like alcool or "Sidol". Normally I clean my rail contacts with Sidol, then soap & water and immediately compressed air. Use only alcool or Sidol on the motor, and remove also the hair or carpet dust from the motor axle. Keep alive your 12V system

Hi Teddy, nice to meet you! The sound of the locomotive running on the rail-truck is a mechanical noise (I love it ! ) the driving rods are very closed to the friction point and this is the reason why I have decided to use two "technic connectors toggle joint smoot" (part n. 44) in opposite side, instead of two standard "technic connectors" (Part n. 3651). Best regards

Flexible or not, curves offend me
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to catbricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Lego set 7722 is still beautiful, and on bricklink you can find a new motor paying few dollars. -
Wonderful MOC! I like your words: "[...] I try to make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler [...]" because before to realize the final version of my Br23 I have to build several test versions to respect the proportion and pass trough two reversed-switching-points joined together, like you. I wonder how you have put the two motors in a so perfect shape (I have to say that my favorite steam locomotive is the BR series )! The XL train wheels from Big Ben Brick modified with rubber band are really impressive (BBB should introduces that as a new standard). P.S. I think that I shall never see a superior masterpiece in 2011 . You have won first price! Note: My BR23

Exact! ...and maybe a new (RC) rail crossing like the (9V) set 4519. It's strange that LEGO hasn't plan to do that.
-
Beautiful MOC!!! I wonder how you made the flying crows!

Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
YES, also for me! This is the reason why the new train set 7939 is so cool -
If you have enough space to put your layout on a table you could...: 1) have less dust (I hate dust, my Lego is always shining but I have to put a plastic cover over the floor every time I don't play, and compressed air every time I put LEGO back in the boxes); 2) have the space to hide under the table the hundred meters of electric wires you need to control a complex 12 volts layout (in my room I have chosen a trans-clear wire, but in any case the effect is uncool). My 12volts layout ...heaven is an undusty room with a giant table where you can put all you lego sets!

TUTORIAL BBB wheels with rubber O-rings
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to Toastie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
With the old 12 volts train track put the o-rings only on one side it's not so usefull: if the wheels with o-rings are in the inner side of the curve the loco have not enough grip to complete the circle. I suggest to put o-rings on both sides for the 12 volt's era fans. Very nice topic by the way! -
Superb! Very nice details and perfect proportions Only the decal is missing but this is not a real problem ...nice work!
-
This is absolutely fine! I wonder how you didn't place this work in the train forum ...you would have win the "first prize" Too many details, the things I love are: the bed room (the bed is awesome), the stairs and the decals Bravo!

[MOC] Executor-Class Super Star Destroyer
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to Anio's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's superb piece of LEGO art! Your are a mad genius! The steps since the beginnig are beautiful ...the same technique of the Lego Star Destroyer assembled using magnets! REALLY IMPRESSIVE! My favourite picture is the family photo ...how many kilos of lego are on that table? You are a real Jedy Master -
I really love this guys, but the 9 volts era workers are a little bit better. On the contrary I prefer the 12 volts era suit for the train drivers: Thanks for the nice topic!

REVIEW: 7866 12V Remote Controlled Road Crossing
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to Brickaroo's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great review for the best Lego road crossing ever made. In my collection I have one set for the 4,5 volts train layout, and another one for my 12 volts layout, with double size (as showed in the enclosed picture): This set is simply a must (like the 7750 lego set) for all the 12 volts' fans. -
Very nice job! Also the rail are rich of details! Really impressive...

European vs. American Train Styles
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm a great fan of 12 volts era and I'm european too, so it's easy to choose european style! However Super Chef Santa Fe and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe are two masterpieces! -
I've put front and rear lights on the RC set 7897 and 7898 but it's not as easy as it seems modify the new PF set 7938 and 7939
-
I own this set and I've done the same lights MOD (great review ) The effect of this diesel shunter with the lights on running on the rails is awesome ! What a pity that the new PW trains haven't any lights

MOC: 12V version of steam engine 3741
LEGO Train 12 Volts replied to hoeij's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great MOC hoeij! I always love conversion from 9v to 12v ...and the electric motor with 6 wheels and moving pistons is great in this loco Bravo!
