  1. I did visit BC, and climate and scenery there are suprisingly like NZ. In Saskatchewan, there was no lack of snow but a complete lack of anything resembling a slope. Skiing=fail. I took up ice hockey instead.
  2. Just popping my head in. I lived in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for nearly three years as a kid/young teen. Some wonderful memories and every rainy gray New Zealand winter I miss Canada's fresh fallen snow and crisp dry air. I like to call myself semi-canadian. After all, New Zealanders say 'Eh' too.
  3. Farmers has 40% off Indy Lego! Also 20% off some S/W, Agents and Space Police.
  4. excellent (and seamless) improvement - how it should have been originally! Nice re-engineering.
  5. In my entire life, I've only ever brought one set with a missing piece, a 1x4 blue tile from a hovercraft. At that point 5 or so years ago, I didn't realise you could call lego direct about missing pieces. I did try to exchange the set for another one at the store, but they said no as I had opened and built it.
  6. This is an accomplishment for me - my first substantial MOC post-dark ages. I wanted to do something with a very Kiwi feel, so this it. Most New Zealanders have memories of beach side holidays at places like this one, full of sun, surf, beach cricket, endless barbeques and going to sleep listening to the surf just outside. This is built somewhere in between Modular and Classic scale. Like Classic, it has no back, and like Modular, it is quite tall and detailed and has a furnished interior. Someday, if time and money allow, I would like to build a hinged back on this. Comments and suggestions are welcomed! Full MOC shot: Mr (Harry Snapper) Organs and Organs Junior play beach cricket. Mrs Organs, in her trendy french beret, bring them refreshments: Another shot of the facade: Inside the house, Mr (Harry Snapper) Organs is in the kitchen whipping up dinner, while Mrs Organs enjoys the peace and tranquility: No more tranquility, Junior wants his food! Upstairs, two bedrooms, one for Mr. & Mrs. Organs: And a tiny one for Junior: Last shot of the house with roof off: Thanks for reading, and enjoy. Ben
  7. Great leg design! How is the gray pneumatic 't' part attached to the torso?
  8. Hey there buddy, I have seen any cup cakes yet. Do I need to send my boys up there?
  9. I'm not really into heavy music, but right now I'm loving the band 30 Seconds From Mars.
  10. I can't fathom the concept of spending $470 US dollars on Lego windows! What the heck is this MOC that involves 1000 3x4 windows!
  11. I can't really help, as I don't have an AT-TE, and I don't like new SP, but according to Peeron, there are still some available around the $100 mark. linky.
  12. I know I commented already, but I'm back. This is just great. I love how you have captured the detail and still kept it simple. MOC's like this make me dead keen to get into trains!
  13. What I do like about that Dacta Set is the unfinished-ness. I would love to finish that bad boy off. But it is huge, most kids (and probably me as well) would not have the parts to finish it, which is kind of sad. This topic has got me thinking about my building future - I'm currently working on a suburban scene, maybe I can expand it with a small private clinic and shopping center?
  14. Very nice! Great colors and detail.
  15. That datca hospital is pretty cool, I would have loved that as a kid.
  16. Are any of these available on Wii?
  17. Great moc Steve, lots of life and detail.
  18. Truly brilliant. I absolutely love it.
  19. I think it's gorgeous. And I like the grey tiles on the flatbed. It breaks up the sea of red a little. Would love to see a video of it in action!
  20. Guys, I'm after at least 2 16x32 tan colored baseplates (part number 3857) None available in NZ or Aus on bricklink. I don't really want to pay the extra shipping to get them from the USA, so I'll try here first. Does anyone have any they would be willing to part with? I can offer cold hard cash or posibly trade for something. Thanks Ben
  21. I'm not sure if it's been covered in the thread, but are you ladies and gentlemen using a tripod at all? My photography is pretty bad I must say, but I think my camera is pretty good, it's a Panasonic Lumix, with I think around 8-10 megapixels.
  22. Fantastic MOC, and I'm not just saying that for the cupcake. I love MOC's with depth like this, because there is a lot of stuff going on underneath us all the time. My only coment is that Batman's motorbike looks a little plain, maybe you should brickbuild him something. There are some great Triumph designs in the Town & Trains section that might inspire you. Nice work. Ben
  23. About $100 (New Zealand Dollars) worth of bricklink, hopefully I can finish my current WIP and get a good start on the next one. Also brought some part for my younger siblings, because I'm a nice guy.
  24. Fantastic stuff! Great detail and the post van is just perfect. (maybe does need an opening door in the back though)
