  1. Right, and this is the Microsoft-esque move I was talking about. Higher ups demand something by a specific date instead of saying "let's get it right". As you said, they know there will be another version, so who cares if this one is a bit messed up. Just get it out there and we will deal with the issues later, our customers will just have to deal with it. Every company that produces electronic entertainment does the same thing, and I am a bit sick of it.
  2. I do not see that, and I am not sure how you came to that conclusion. Do you think we will be getting every torso in every blank color that lego has at PAB? Or a 4x18 brick in blue? How about a wagon wheel in green? As far as I know, LEGO does not like the PAB system. They thought it was going to be a way for people to buy bulk bricks and it turned into a packing and processing nightmare for them. I cannot see them adding thousands of new items which will do nothing but add to their headaches. This feels like a Microsoft model for releasing new material. Instead of testing, getting beta feedback, and fixing all bugs, they hear the screams for something new and get it out there. Again, maybe I am wrong, but this is the sense I get.
  3. I have to say that I am pretty disappointed in this new version. The inclusion of items in colors that do not exist for us to actually use if we want to actually build the model is absurd. Carrot tops in white and parrots in purple?!? The addition of way too many items in the regular LDD mode makes it exhausting to scroll through 100's of pieces I cannot buy from LEGO and some of which are not available at all. What I loved about the older version was that I could build a model in LDD mode with readily available bricks and then switch over to extended to find out which few rarer parts I needed to get. This new melange of new, old and fictional pieces is what the extended version was made for. Do you really think this is easier to use for a younger fan than something that only gives you 10 legs to choose from instead of the list now? Couldn't there have been a happy medium? It seems like it would be overwhelming and become tiresome for a child to wade through all these options. Maybe I am wrong, but that is how I see it. Sorry if I am ranting, but I really love designing my mocs in LDD first, and this just seems like the same thing as pulling out my shoeboxes full of bricks to find the few pieces I need. Oh well, can't go backwards!
  4. Thanks so much everyone! This was a really fun build, and the figures are some of my all time favs.
  5. [pid][/pid]197B This was an entry into Forbidden Cove's JRCII Bretheren Court Category: Captain LaRose's Rerturn to the Court Captain Sally LaRose, also known as Seven Sea Sally, has returned for the fifth meeting of the Bretheren Court with her crew close behind her. You can see her piece of eight in the hand of her advisor, a piece of incan gold! This is a moc from last year, but was I was asked to post it here. More, Larger Pictures Here Enjoy!
  6. I believe the next set will be a music store. The one action that is not covered yet is singing, and a music store would give us all the tools to make a choir without the religious twist. I do not think a house is in the future since it is not part of the "town square" scene they are creating. They could add another skating area which would allow us to expand the rink size as well.
  7. I am not usually into City sets, but the ranger ones are very cool! Did anyone else notice a new piece in the trees? It looks like a 2x2 round plate with four connection points for the leaves. I have not seen it anywhere else, but it looks very useful. Oh, and my Bear Claw Clan figures are going to be very happy about the bear figure!
  8. This thread will be for all my Western Decals, I will be uploading them as time permits. All decals will be in the first post so they will be easy to find. Here we go: Brick City Bob: All my decals can be found HERE
  9. Congrats to everyone who entered this contest, and a special shout out for all the winners. This was a fun contest, thanks also to ISC for putting this all together, thanks!
  10. We need more thieves, bandits, and peasants. However that does not make a very exciting theme, so how about a Muskateer theme? I know it is near the end of the castle period (or even a bit past), but it would allow for thieves and peasants and more of the cool muskateer figs and accessories. I also would love a Robin Hood type theme, back to forestmen is never a bad thing!
  11. Really nice work! The details are wonderful, the waterfall, trees, and the rock design are very cool and add loads of atmosphere to the scene. Odd to win in the Sci-Fi category, but it is certainly a winner!
  12. Yippie!!! Someone got it, in the middle of writing the description it hit me and I had to change the name. Anywhere I can sneak in the Simpsons I do (My wedding cake was all Simpsons made by Ace Of Cakes!). Thanks!
  13. Thanks so much everyone! I knew putting fleshies in would cause a stir, I have no issue with doing that, but understand how others feel. I am not a fan of the flesh figs, but I do like the idea of showing different skin tones for different races. Then again, I also use custom figs and accessories in all my scenes, so a purist I am not and never will be. Thanks again to all!
  14. Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun with this scene, glad you enjoy it as much as I did making it!
  15. This is an entry into the Eurobricks Spaghetti Western Competition, category 2: SAVED BY THE BOOM Just as Black Bort was being strung up for the crimes he had committed, a large wagon comes barreling through town, blowing up the jail and causing the townsfolk to scatter. It is the Black Bort's gang, the Black Hat Boys, who are here to save him. The wagon is only the distraction while two members clim up the other side of the gallows to set Bort free. More Pictures Here Enjoy!
  16. Thanks guys, maybe someday we will find out LEGO's thinking on this one! Fred - I design the items on the computer and they are 3D printed for me by Shapeway.com. The material is a plastic resin dust that is built up istead of carved away.
  17. Thanks guys, I do not understand it either. They will fall over backwards to make a new LEGO Star Wars element but do not have the time for a simple wand? Sad really.
  18. THIS is a wand!!! I never understood why LEGO never took the time to make a proper wand for a theme they have done so many sets for, so I took it upon myself to remedy the situation. This is the Harry Potter and Elder wands from the movie series. Enjoy!
  19. Thanks so much everyone! I did not think about other colors for the roofs, but you are right it would break up that color block much better. This is my first moc with the brown plants, I was very excited when I got them a few months ago. Thanks again!
  20. This is an entry into the Eurobricks Spaghetti Western Contest, Category 2: The Deadbrick Duel Welcome to Deadbrick, a small, dusty cowtown near an active gold mine. It is known as one dangerous town, and today is no exception. Three partners have come in from the mine, had a bit to drink, and cashed in their dust. Then came the argument, the bottle over the head, and the duel. The sheriff got there just a little late to stop anything! More pictures here Enjoy!
  21. Wonderful scene! I love how the action goes on above while down below life goes on as normal, until that guy hits the ground at least! Great work, good luck!
  22. Thanks so much! i agree the hat is a bit rough, shapeway has a new polished option I may try next order, it may be smoother. The decals are waterslide, printed and applied by myself. Thanks again, glad you like the little scene!
  23. This is an entry into the Eurobricks Spaghetti Western Comeption, Category 3: Brick City Bob Once a highly decorated sniper in the Civil War, William Bothman is now known as one of the most deadly manhunters in the West. Known to most as Brick City Bob, he is a relentless tracker and does not hesitate when he finds his man. - Decals on torso and head by Shmails - Hat, Spurs, Cigar, Rifle designed by Shmails, made by Shapeway - Reins and gunbelt by Brickforge - Gun by Brickarms - Saddle custom made by Shmails Enjoy!
  24. I just got my order and the new items look awesome! I had a hand in working on these when they were in the development stage, and was very excited for each and every item. Once the spill comes out in red, blue, yellow, and orange, it will be an amazing piece that I think will be in many mocs. The martini glass is my favorite, but the broken bottle is close behind. Everyone who likes custom elements should grab a few of these, they are lots of fun!
