This Swiss store has posted its price for the upcoming (Aug 2012) Lego Technic 9398 4x4 Crawler set -- 249.00 Swiss Francs (equivalent to 207.28 Euros or 273.43 U.S. Dollars. There are no pictures of the box yet.

You should try buying needed parts from Bricklink.com -- it's "The Unofficial Lego Marketplace" where you can buy from vendors (large and small) worldwide. look at the Help webpage to see how it works. To learn all about Lego Power Functions, I recommend reviewing the "Frequently Asked Questions" and answers on the official Powerfunctions website. The 8110 Unimog U400 set should still be available into Summer 2013 (since "flagship" Lego Technic sets like it are available for about 2 years on Shop.Lego.com ). The 9397 Logging Truck should be available until the end of 2013. Buying the NEEDED parts from Bricklink.com may be better than buying $140-$200 sets.

Sure, it would be nice to have a re-release of the 32298 "Black Tire Technic Power Puller" mounted on a 22969 "Wheel 62mm D. x 46mm Technic Racing Large". According to the Bricklink set inventories, the WHEELS appeared in both the 8466 4x4 Off-Roader and the 8457 Power Puller sets; the only difference in the TIRES is the "Technic Power" sidewall markings for the Power Puller (Part 32298pb01): The apparent lack of these parts on the upcoming (2H2012) 9398 4x4 Crawler set is a "lost opportunity."

@ 88high: It looks nice! The angle of the windshield (windscreen) could be lowered if you have two black 32015 "Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Angled #5 - 112.5 degrees" parts (pictured below). You are using #4 Technic Connectors (forming a 135-degree angle), and they don't look suitable for a Supercar....

Yesterday, I flew my shortened Lego Technic "Death Star Booster" rocket on an Estes C6-5 motor. I used four 6247 1x11 Technic Links to move the weight downwards. The total number of Lego parts is now 28. The displays what I wanted it to do -- tumble back to earth softly. The "Center of Gravity" is now close to the "Center of Pressure":

[bUMP] As shown recently on The Lego Car Blog, here is a Lego Technic Rosenbauer Panther 8x8 Crashtender firetruck with HRET (High Reach Extendable Turret). Made by hypoXXL/ Hypo, it is VERY DETAILED. The shows it in action, and many more pictures are on Hypo's Brickshelf gallery.

Yes, I could launch it into the air, but it would probably come down as a "Lawn Dart" like the Top Gear rocket did! Thanks for sharing Brickstarrunner's LDD file -- I had not seen it before. If I were to build it in real bricks and attempt to launch it, I was thinking about using two 57792 "Vehicle, Tipper Drum 3 x 6 x 10 Cement Mixer Half with 4 Technic Pin Holes" parts to act as an Estes D "motor mount". The interior is just about the right diameter for a D12-5 motor. The tricky part is that the Reliant "shuttle" and the real Space Shuttle have theirs own thruster rockets, to keep the rocket from tilting in the direction of the extra weight. Most likely, the Lego rocket would end up being a "Sky Writer":
