  1. Bricky300 posted a Flickr video of his buggy on a test stand. It shows the return-to-center steering.
  2. On this Flickr photostream, Matija Grguric photographed this LEGO MINDSTORMS Zeppelin AIRSHIP displayed at the LEGO World 2011 event in Copenhagen, Denmark. The big, white turbine blades are shown. The balloons are filled with helium, so the airship could fly around the room without a tether! See the Flickr video here.
  3. If any LEGO Technic AFOLs attended the LEGO World 2011 show in Copenhagen, can you explain what this GIANT LEGO Technic tracked vehicle is? It was photographed and posted on Matija Grguric's Flickr photostream of the event, but there is no description or explanation. There are only these four photos below....
  4. Bobofrut/ Bobofrutxxxx posted his mini Skid-Steer Loader on his Flickr photostream. He shows it in action on his . Using the 11 photos he posted on his Brickshelf gallery, you can build one yourself using the spare LEGO Technic parts that you may have lying around.
  5. This looks really good! I wonder what it is like riding the real Solex -- one must get a snoot-full of exhaust fumes!
  6. You lucky dog! LEGO Technic Offroaders are now going to rule Manhattan!
  7. Your instructions are very clear and easy to read. Thanks for making them available! What rendering program did you use to create them?
  8. Wow -- this is big! It must have taken a lot of time to make it digitally. Do you plan on making it with real Lego parts? Would you mind posting the LDD .lxf file, using the "Deeplink" procedures described here?
  9. The website BrickEngineer.com contains these useful PDF Building Instructions for Lego Technic mechanisms and constructs that you can download. Click on the hyperlinks underlined below: Smooth Lego Clutch : Smooth Lego Clutch With Differential : Geneva Mechanism -- "The Geneva Mechanism takes smooth rotary motion and converts it to intermittent rotary motion": Kevin Knuth also made Building Instructions for this Lego Pin and Axle Puller: Lego Triangles:
  10. If you want a print of the "Technic, 4-Axle Connector with Center Pin Hole" (pictured below) that TLG never produced, you can get one here, along with prints of other Lego Technic patents.
  11. On his Flickr photostream, Bricky300 posted 22 photos of his Lego Power Functions (PF) Buggy chassis that uses two PF Medium motors. The sequence of photos reveals how he built his front rack-and-pinion steering and rear-wheel All Wheel Drive. The chassis could be used for a buggy, car, or truck model.
  12. On his Flickr photostream, BricksOnWheels posted 11 images of his Lego Scania R730 truck built to 1:13 scale. He wrote that it is his "first build of 2011, is this 1;13 scaled Scania R730 V8. I build it for the upcoming European Modelshow in Holland where it will be fitted with a flatbed trailer hauling one of my Peterbilt showtrucks. This one is highly detailed with custom interior and lot of chrome parts." The real truck has a "V8 engine, at the moment the most powerfull truck engine in the world for a series truck. 730 horses is a lot of power!"
  13. mrTECHNICER posted this of his Lego Whitecat, which he describes as his "first 4-trucks vehicle. It's studless and all truck is driven. Two different steering mods and 8 lego leds. I needed about three days to build it and make the movie."
  14. [if Siegfried (the Eurobricks "Technic, Mindstorms, and Model Team" Forum "Global Moderator") wants to close this topic, that's his prerogative.] There are certain Mega Bloks Probuilder sets that The Lego Group will never do, such as their 3251 Leopard 2 Tank pictured below. TLG does not like OVERTLY military themes (because "War is not fun"). This policy is a bit puzzling, because when one compares the Mega Bloks Halo set below and the (similar) Lego sets pictured below, both are fantasy pseudo military models: There's no question that Lego bricks are manufactured with higher quality than Mega Bloks bricks. However, that higher quality comes at an increased cost. Mega Bloks sets are often sold side-by-side with Lego sets, so when some kid picks out a MILITARY Mega Bloks set, it may be because TLG does not offer that set. I guess the world is big enough for both brands to coexist....
  15. How much suspension travel do you want? What is the scale of your model? You could also consider the 11.5L 48912c01 "Technic, Shock Absorber 11.5L, Complete Assembly": Here is a Eurobricks post that discusses how to increase the Lego Technic Shock Absorber stiffness. It contains this chart to show that different-colored shocks have different stiffnesses:
  16. If you are not satisfied with the selection of Lego Technic Figures, you can make your own like these Lego Top Gear figures at Legoland Windsor:
  17. If you like tracked vehicles and TANKS, you could build Nightwerty's NJA Tank 102. It has complete, 27-page PDF Building Instructions ! It illustrates what Bricktrain is talking about. Maybe you can get some ideas and modify its design with the parts you have on hand....
  18. Han is preparing Building Instructions for another this 8052 alternate supplement (from Bricklink):
  19. @ Bioniclefan: Now that you have made Zblj's Mecanum Wheels, what kind of vehicle are you going to mount them on?
  20. @ efferman: To select the Lego tires that have the best grip, see Philo's "Wheels, Tyres and Traction" research findings.
  21. @ Bioniclefan: Welcome to Eurobricks! Did you see Zblj's additional explanation on this post, concerning parts that could not be modeled/included in his LDD .lxf file?
  22. So that's why some Bricklink parts are getting scarce! Welcome to Eurobricks. Be sure to check out Blakbird's Technicopedia to see what you've missed!
  23. smartlego posted this image on his Flickr photostream. From left to right, the figures are "duplo, minifig, duplo bricks, fabuland, Jack Stone, technic, very old bricks, knight and bionicle":
  24. I'm guessing that it will be gear driven. It looks slightly larger than the blue 8052 Container Truck pictured below. Conchas has his own ideas on TechnicBRICKS.
  25. As reported on Flickr, someone does drive this car: Maybe one could cover their car with Technic Plates (instead of Duplo bricks). The dimples may even help your gas mileage (per the "Mythbusters"!)
