    Does anyone have a some pictures of how they put xl-motors for the wheels ? IS the xl motor larger then the standard motor ?

    so the gear swap on the motors was not that great. I didn't even have enought torque for flat carpet at that point. I am wondering if someone could share some ideas on how to speed it up without sacrificing torque? Or maybe putting in a 2-speed gearbox so it can be switched from high mode to low mode as needed?

    thanks, im not too concerned about color for now. would these two set give me all the parts needed? i tried procing it out on bricklink and the cost was around $700 usd. i figure i can get the unimog and crane truck for roughly $550 or so. thoughts?

    Can anyone suggest a good lego set to buy that might contain a lot of similar parts? I'm looking for a reasonable way to get a lot of parts quickly. I do have a 9398 crawler and 41999.

    has anyone made drivetrain improvements? Since I don't have the 9398, I really don't know if any performance mods that can be done to this beast. I did the gear swap on the motors as outlined in the video, but wanted to know if there is more that can be done. Thanks!

    nevermind i messed up step 14 in book 4 got it fixed now.

    need som help guys, just finished the build but the hood doesnt sit flush when closed. any ideas? i cant seem to figure it out

    THe lines of this muscle car body remind me a lot of the 2nd generation Chevy Monte CArlo. My neighbhor used to have a blue one similar to this. Love it!

    For anyone who is on backorder here is what happend to me. I got my shipping notice today, I ordered on the 8/1 and was backordered until today. I didn't think I would get it, but I lucked out. Order at around 8AM pacific time.

    I found this pic in the unimog review here http://www.technicbr...nimog-u400.html you can change these gears- left is for speed and right is for more torque. There is also an intermediate gear between these two.

    I am such a NOOB that I had no idea that they made this. Does it replace the 6 x AA box directly ? Thanks for the tip. It is a little pricey though but worth considering

    Can anyone suggest a good set of rechargeable batteries and a charger for this crawler. I am in the process of assembling mine, but as it is my first big technic set I have never had rechargeable batteries. thanks in advance!
