Oh goodness... In seventh grade, on of my friends had aspirations of creating an MMORPG, and he wanted a group of his closest friends (me included) to be admins and mods once he had it coded. I was to be second in command, and therefore a Great Sorceror to foil his Great Necromancer character. I needed a magical-sounding name, but after a few weeks, one wasn't coming. Then, I was watching VeggieTales: Lord of the Beans (VT is awesome, btw), in which there is a scene in which the squash character, the analogue of Gandalf, is speaking to an ent, the analogue of Treebeard. Because the ents are so big on tradition, he calls the ent by his full name, and then says "son of Faliminion Tereglith, son of..." I turned it over in my mind, and thought, hey, that sounds pretty wizardly! So I made my character named Tereglith. The game languished, but I kept the name in mind. As my old username (Ogloe, based on a sci-fi short story I wrote in *eep* first grade) became too, well, stupid, a gradually began creating new accounts under the name of Tereglith. So there you have it. My username is from VeggieTales by way of a never-created MMOG. Doesn't sound very mystical any more, does it?

Indeed, there are usually limited for each of the stores Diamondback mentioned in some larger themes (For example, SW 2009 had the Mon Cal cruiser at TRU(?) the midi-falcon at Walmart, and the Pirate Tank at Target.) but smaller themes will usually only have one exclusive in a specific store (usually TRU, with Pirate's shipwreck hideout being an example). All limited edition sets are also available at LEGO chain stores, so the only thing that makes them "limited edition" is that they aren't sold in Walmart and Target (or WM and TRU or Target and TRU). Limited edition, in a Lego context, has about the same true meaning as the words "all-natural ingredients" in a food context. All that you can be sure it means is an extra ten dollars out of your wallet if you choose to buy it.

Wow, this is awesome! The way that it's slightly smaller than the rest of the buildings reminds me of the house in Stuart Little, or, more appropriately, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Great job!

You've seen my comments on flickr, but I've had an idea for the octopus chariot - take out the connector piece, attach chains to the Octopus' head that go back to the chariot, and then connect underneath using clear rods, like the mini-podracers. I'd try it meself to see how it looks, but my squid piece has disappeared into the super-Sargasso..... O-o o-O

Version 3 is now ON! And it's so much bettah too. Thanks all for your advice.

They threated the wounded? "You! Heal up now! Or I'll shoot you again!" Sounds scary...

Good job! You really capture the busy feel of a machine shop with this entry, with all the people around paying attention to the canoe. I think my favorite part would have to be the balcony, and the lift is very good too. Also, I'm glad that you have a jackhammer in your entry. It evens out the jackhammer quotient for the contest, which has been off-balance ever since Admiral Ron got rid of the one in his entry.

WOWZA! It does look more like that than a mole/turtle/WTF (I know, Batbrick, Leviathan, I know.) The resemblance is really striking. Even the shell...

Interesting topic. You all put a lot more work into MOCing than I do . I, a bit like Peppermint M, often will just sit down and trawl through my approximately 25,000 pieces (it takes a while) looking for parts. However, I usually at least have an idea of what I'm going for. I'll decide that I want to build, say, a tank, and trawl for tan pieces. Once I've got enough, I'll look at what I have, try to put it together into a tank, and then end up building a micro-scale city block (true story). I really just have to let it come to me, but for you it could be different.

I dunno why everyone likes the helicopter. I like it too. I think it's probably because your brain sees "power miners" and thinks "oh, it'll be orange and lime drilling machines. That's all power miners ever is!", and then you click on the link and the first thing you see is a helicopter. It causes a surprise in your brain, which releases dopamine, which makes you happy. In other words, looking at your helicopter the first time ought to be a controlled substance (not really). I like all of these models, I wish lego still included them on the boxes

I've taken your suggestion and dredged up a collection of tan bricks that I didn't know I have, and am currently in the middle of make the MOC twice as tall. I'm going to try (once again) to take clear pictures of this entry (they were taken under the exact same conditions as mymedium entry, but the pictures are so much crappier for this one ) once I have the modifications finished. I would love to make the walls more sand-like, but I just don't have the mad skillz nor the pieces to make it happen

It looks a little odd in my opinion too, and it's a pain the megablocks to photograph, because it's always popping into weird postions. But it's the only way I could think of to do the banked hills that you see so often in mini golf courses, and I think that having it back there makes the whole MOC seem more minigolfish. If anyone can suggest a better way to get a similar shape, but with a less "odd-looking" method, I'll try it out.

"OMg, 9007? What a tacky number! I hate this set !!!!! "

Yes. If you would like to read all about it, you can either look at my previous post, or click on the conveniently located hyperlink below. Conveniently Located Hyperlink :D Although, looking at the rest of the prices on amazon, I suspect that many of them are higher than what the final US prices will be. I'm thinking more like $15 for this set.

Sounds like she's got it made! Because, you know, very few people die after reaching the age of one hundred

Yes, Guardian of the Depp (Deep, sorry, I've just been reading about POTC4 ) is the shark, at the rarely-seen $16.99 price point. I'm guessing around 150 pieces, and I'm not sure what sort of presence the divers will have in the set. Edit: Oh, Booyah! I just bothered to look it up on Amazon. It is 16.99, and it has 144 pieces. They're exciting description (in the innovative form of a bulleted list!) is below. -Set includes 1 heroic diver minifigure with harpoon -Diver accessories included: Scuba helmet, tank, harpoon shooter and swim fins -Features shark guardian with biting jaws, moving tail and poseable head -Collectible red Atlantis treasure key included - collect them all -144 pieces My thoughts are thus. -"Heroic Diver". Seriously? -What is the "shark guardian" guarding? The entire 'Deep'? That's a pretty big territory for one shark... -"Collect them all"... Pokemon much? -Also, once again, BOOYAH on my piece guessage. But no matter how bad the Amazon description is, the set looks totally win.

Hrmm... If there's one piece I really have very few of, it's green tiles. Well, actually, it's anything fabuland or spongbob or SWCW exclusive or... but if there's one standard piece I have very few of, it's green tiles. The astroturf that you see in this entry is actually just about the sum total of all of my green pieces . So thanks for the suggestion, but I'm probably going to leave the studs (imagine that it's that annoying bumpy turf they use sometimes to make the holes more difficult ) and go for the "hole in the Kraken's mouth" idea instead. I had a great time building the background, so I'm glad you enjoy it (I was rather proud of the cape idea, but I didn't know I was doing anything terribly special with the flexible tube). The castawy looks so desperate because he has fifty nine shots so far on the course, and he doesn't want to come in last place because then he has to buy the rum afterwards (not really, I just made that up on the spot) I'd agree with Black Rabbit that you're probably going to win that advent calendar, Otters. Watch out for Martinsuper, though...

Wow, nice job. I like these sorts of MOC, I always admire the techniques used. The colors do look pretty good, and it's awesome that you managed to fit in a play feature apart from the transformation (the missiles). As for the name... most of the names of real Transformers are pretty bad too. I mean, Smokescreen? Optimus Prime? Hotshot? Seriously?

Parrot's Perch Pub PTV2 Contest Entry -medium
Tereglith replied to ProducePrincess's topic in Pirate MOCs
Oop, I had missed that flickr link. Silly me Inside looks great btw. -
Hysterical! I love it, especially the table, which looks so incredibly dull that it's actually the antimatter version of a real BP, and if they ever came into contact they would anihilate in a massive explosion.

Parrot's Perch Pub PTV2 Contest Entry -medium
Tereglith replied to ProducePrincess's topic in Pirate MOCs
Once you've got a final no-stairs version, are you going to post the six pictures requested in the guidelines? Because I would like to see the interior of the pub as well. Also, I think you've got room for another ship like the Wasted once you take out the stairs, and it would add to the parking-lot quality of the dock area. -
I guess what I'm going for with the junkbox is the idea that the pirates have found all of this stuff which could be amazingly useful if reverse-engineered and studied (General Grievous' head, a magic wand, an exo-force arm), but they don't realize that it's worth anything because they're only in search of shiny stuff. I really don't know what's up with the camera. It took the pictures for my medium entry fine, but for these it just kept getting all blurry. I deleted quite a few that were even worse than this.

Allright, I've posted the new pictures. Enjoy!

(MOC) Oldest Surviving Space Outpost, est. 2139
Tereglith replied to Tereglith's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
It is designed to be on the ground. I'll try putting it on a larger baseplate and maybe expanding it later. I'll also take a picture of the back, it makes that little more clear. -
I saw the first two pics, it definitely looks like a piratical version of the new soldier's flagship. What's with the backwards mermaid as a figurehead, though?
