  1. Wait, what? November? Early November? Where'd this come from? I'd love it to be true, but I doubt it is. New lego never comes out until after my birthday
  2. You know that time right before Christmas/Hannukah/Kwaanza/Festivus when Lego releases their January catalog and you (well, not you, but I) I have to scramble to get all my relatives to buy the sets that I want for me for Christmas? These will come out at that time, probably a little bit before that time in the better-stocked stores. It's always been a dream of mine to go 'backstage' and a lego store and buy the sets that they haven't released yet but have in boxes just so that they can feel powerful over us.
  3. As for meself, I have roundabouts 23000 pieces according to Brickset, topped off with 266 figs. However, my method for documenting my sets is to browse the brickset database seeing what jogs my memory, so a better estimate would be somewhere between 25k and 30k pieces.
  4. Man, when you say lots of greebles, you aren't kidding. There's enough top hats alone to outfit an entire Victorian London Opera house! Outstanding job on this.
  5. Great job on these, I particularly like the Enterprise. I tried my hand on an enterprise at a smaller scale, and the way that you managed to do the neck and the nacelle supports is very good, better than what I figured out. I may be confused, but I was under the impression that Birds of Prey were considerably smaller than Constitution Class ships... I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I watched an episode or movie with them. I admire how you managed to make the Bird of Prey look menacing, as well. Mine turned out looking basically adorable, like a mutant baby duck.
  6. Yes, I was just the tiniest bit disappointed that there were no cabinets in the trailer for Arb and Kel to hide in . T'would take up a lot of room, I suppose.
  7. Great work, although I see you still haven't decided the best way to do an accordian fold (I readz your topic!) I just read The Lost World recently, and these are pretty much like I remember them from the book. I seem to remember that the trailer had a table in the hanging-over-the-cliff scene, but perhaps I've got it backwards in my head. Look forward to seeing your dioramas. I would love to see your interpretation of the high-hide, as well.
  8. This is a ship that truly deserves the adjective "fantabulous", and I mean that sincerely. I actually became a bit terrified at its scope when I realized that that was the large AT-ST
  9. Well, I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is, based on your first sentence, I highly suspect that you're psychic (kidding) The bad news is, this needs a little work. There are some good things about it. I like how the Admiral is blissfully unaware that there is a giant pirate hat sticking out of the barrel in front of him, and the basic idea is... fine, although a little bit malevolent for the new rules. If I were to change one thing immediately, I would change the way the parrot is situated. Since a flower (no matter how big and hokey) couldn't hold up a piece of wood with a parrot on it, I'm left to assume that there is a high-pressure geyser of either blood or wine shooting up out of the ground, upon which the parrot is borne aloft There isn't much you can do with a small entry, so basically my advice is to change the plants, and maybe add a rock and add some slope to the ground. Also, if you can find any real red apple pieces, I would use a couple of them instead of the pieces you have now. Because even though they're completely unrealistically sized, they would add to the clarity of the scene and also to the cartoony look of it. And, hey, if you lose, you can always point to the top of the post and say, "look, I'm psychic!"
  10. Indeed, I have proof that these are featured in the other thread - my comment is the third one down on the mocpage, and I found any and all Atlantis pictures through the aforementioned thread.
  11. I had never hard of Mad Max until I looked it up on wikipedia. This was more inspired by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! Sounds like an interesting movie, though, I'll have to see if I can rent it.
  12. Wow. That is simply the most awesome dead tree I've ever seen.
  13. I'll admit that, apart from the steamhorse, the carriage isn't too steampunkish. However, as a literary genre, steampunk covers lots of ground, and something including a carriage like this could definitely fit into the genre somewhere. As for the apoc, I don't have as much experience building in it. So far as I can tell, what you do is take a vehicle and then mod it to fight zombies. That's what I tried to do with this, only instead of taking a truck or a car, I took a Regency-era carriage.
  14. Alternate England, 1822 - Hordes of the undead sweep over the land, looking to assimilate anyone too foolish to be constantly ready to defend themselves. The best hope for survival is to be constantly on the move in a home-carriage that can travel faster than a zombie can, armed to the teeth with muskets, cannons, and swords (because blades don't need reloading). The most prized possession of anyone lucky enough to have it is a cannon with a healthy supply of Trojan Fire. The very highest quality cannons were articulated, so as to dispose of the stricken even when they were in close proximity to one's carriage. After it was found that horses succumbed to the disease, most carriages became powered by simple rotational engines, or steamhorses. The interiors of these carriages were often sparse. This one contains little more than a bed and a barrel of cutlasses. During a pursuit, one could set the steamhorse on automatic and go into the back of the cabin, where through-the-wall muskets enabled one to fire upon the stricken... ...without presenting a target of oneself. Enjoy! I'm open to suggestions on how to make the interior better. Also, if anyone with the power to do so reads this, how many more times do I have to use capes in unorthodox manners before I get a title for it? (I want one! )
  15. Don't worry, they wouldn't be able to figure out how to make an account here. That question about "what does the L in AFOL mean?" would stump them Edit - I forgot to post a smilie, reassuring everyone that I'm being wholly sarcastic.
  16. OOH! Very pretty. I like the expansion of the deck very much. What is that fleshie doing there, though? This was still an era of racism!
  17. HA! I love things that make it so you'll never look at something the same way again, and that video was one of them. I'm going to get creeped out whenever I see that head now... I think that my favorite part of the video, though, was poking the cat with the stick... I would LOVE to do that to my cats right about now!
  18. Well, I guess that means it's okay for me to root for the baddies of all the non-licensed themes! It means I'm good at heart!
  19. I totally agree. It looks fine, though, although I'm not certain what exactly the big thing sticking out from its chest is...
  20. Oh my, that shark is so full of win! Batmobile windshield in black? YES!
  21. I would like to try something like that, closer to Christmas - I had aspirations a few years ago of creating a bignette for each holiday, and it sort of died after I ran out of pieces trying for the Halloween one. My only problem would be a lack of knowledge about how snow piles up and stays on things. (Helpful Hint: If someone tells you Florida has great weather, they're trying to sell you something, probably a condo in Florida), since the last time it snowed here was six years before I was born.
  22. If I'm not mistaken, there are some dark tan 2x2 jumper plates in one of the prelim sets for Prince of Persia (Also, WOOHOO! I've gained citizenship!)
  23. AARGH!!!! Reality TV will be the downfall of civilization, you watch. Glad to here the board games will be released in the US soon, though.
  24. I think that my favorite instance of creative part using is the single brown tread for a village well. Ingenious!
  25. They are limited edition, although I'm not certain at what stores.
