I just put together my first Armada Flagship yesterday, so I had to vote for it! I love the color scheme for the ship and the unique white hull. Is this the only set that has a green cannon? (or cannon holder...whatever you call that piece?)

Good God!!! That is one amazing ship! That is one of the best looking lego ships, period! Wow!

The many books on the subject such as, "A General History of the Pyrates by Daniel Defoe" The movies: Cutthroat Island, Shipwrecked, Hook, Master & Commander. I don't care what the critics say, Cutthroat Island was an awesome movie!

Unfortunately, I didn't have any brown inverted slopes, so I had to use grey. But yea, that's a good technique to extend the length of the hull.

That's quite an impressive ship! I own 2 Black Seas Barracuda's, so I might be tempted to try something like this in the future. That builder's other ships are amazing as well!

This set should be released as a Legend. But last I heard, Lego won't be releasing any more legends. I hope thats not true. This set deserves another run!

The Durmstrang Ship has more character in my opinion. It's shape looks better too even though it's a bit crunched up. The shape of the 4+ ship is just horrible. It's too ugly to be a pirate ship! I like the long pennants on the Durmstrang ship, they would be great for a pirate, imperial, or armada ship. Also, the Durmstrang has regular figs instead of those weird 4+ figs.

That looks excellent! I love the vegetation and the design of that islander building. It's very well detailed. Bigger pictures would have been better though.

The bow is a bit low and the ship isn't wide enough. It's also too tall. Other than that, it looks really good.

That's odd. They used many of the real pirate flags in the game but had fictional pirate names to go along with them. Why didn't they just use the real names of the pirates?

I got mine recently for $30 (US dollars) on bricklink. It came with instructions (no box). These sets go for cheap. The orignial 1996 release price was $29.75. I love the blue cannon in this set. Are there any other sets that have a blue cannon?

You could cut it in half and upload part 1 and 2 seperately. Uh oh! That's a bummer.

Barnacle Bay is a rare set? I got one with instructions but no box about 2 or 3 weeks ago off bricklink.

I think he's referring to the Skull's Eye Schooner. I'm trying to find one of those too! Cheapest price on bricklink I could find is $140 (no box, no instructions) I'll wait till I see it on ebay for cheaper.

It was the original 1996 version. It wasn't new. The ship had been put together once and then taken apart and put back into the box. All the pieces looked new. The box had a large rip in one corner.

Hey Athos, with all these pirate sets, do you plan on doing any large pirate mocs? Or are you collecting them for the sake of collecting?

:excl: Wow! I need to look on ebay more often. So Athos, you have every pirate set except for 2? Does this include all the imperial soldier and spanish armada sets?

You might be better off looking on Bricklink or ebay for some classic Lego pirate sets & parts. They're aren't too expensive. I personally, would never give in to megabloks!

The Pirates of the Carribean would have been nice. :dry: What ever happened to the Lego pirate line? I always thought pirates were pretty popular? I'm hoping Lego will come out with something to compete against Megablok's pirate line.
