  1. He looks ferocious on the first pic. I would have put a golden body armor, though, or more gunmetal. There's only one gunmetal part, and it looks weird. And I would have made the legs one module longer. Or I would have used a three-segmented leg. So I think some minor modifications can be made, but overall it's a really good MOD, good job !
  2. In France, Fluminox and Panthar are (already) sold out, and only Cragger is labeled as Available Now, while the other ones have the Call to check product availability label. Are they as popular in other countries as here ?
  3. Last year's Cragger's legs were indeed simpler, but the new one has two armors and a spike on each leg, which is, IMO, comparable to two armors and one add-on, especially since they seem to be rather small parts (#4 and #5 armors and a spike VS #3, #4 armors and a small add-on). It might be true for the others, but Lewa definitely has the gap. That's why I used the oOo liftarm, I noticed the gap, which led me to think that the armor isn't directly attached to the torso part. Indeed. This is getting really exciting, especially the trans-purple. Thank you. :D I agree. Actually, I also did mock-up the Defenders' structure earlier.
  4. Thanks ! I render with POV-Ray. The trick is that I enable the outlines in LDD2POV-Ray, the converter I use, they give a particular look to the renders, and they help to render faster. I also change the quality, the render you quoted has the highest quality, but the previous one, where I show how I think Lewa's body will be made, has the lowest quality, it gives a building instructions feel to the renders, which I appreciate.
  5. Not on the front wheels, but I'm thinking of implementing suspensions on the rear wheels by using this part. Thank you !
  6. Might be due to the pose / angle of the body. Lewa's legs are skinny. I'm pretty sure there's nothing more than #3 green and #4 tan/yellow/gold/*insert your favourite color* armors on his limbs. And there seem to be a back armor. The way I see it, he's built that way : 43 parts, throw in a golden mask and the spider parts, and you have about 50 parts. The only part I'm really not sure about is the back (of course). Also, I have no idea which shade of brown is Pohatu (but I'd say reddish brown), but he and the Stone Defender appear to have tr. yellow bones under the brown armors. This is really intriguing...
  7. Hum, that gives me an idea. But I actually think Lewa's body could be built that way : I find it more likely than a new body part.
  8. I build my MOCs with LDD, and I render them with POV-Ray. I enable the outlines setting in LDD2POV-Ray, the converter (you can learn more about it in the digital subforum) because they help to render faster, and I like the look they give to the render.
  9. That's what I had planned, actually. But to be honest, I used the solution Mark275 mentioned. It's much simpler, and takes less space. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. So now it looks like this : EDIT : And here is a render of the MOC when the wheels are fully steered : Also, I think I'll add suspensions to the rear axle.
  10. I don't think so, the Air Defender seems to use the same color (which is logical), and I think Keetorange bones are more likely than golden ones (although I'd love metallic-colored bones).
  11. Well, when I look at the pic, I see that (of course, the savage planet part replaces here the new add-on) : Keetorange appeared in two Chima sets this year : the #8 armor (agreed, not the most useful one) in Lavertus' base, from the first wave, and the Savage Planet paw part in Laval's lion tank, from the current wave. I place my bet on keetorange. And I'm pretty sure the Fire Defender too does have one of those parts in white / silver on his torso. Anyways, what you say about Lewa's green makes sense. But... I simply prefer Dark Green over Bright Green, the latter is too bright to my taste.
  12. Oops. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll modify it, I think I have a simple solution that could work. Oh, I see. Then I guess I'll simply have to lower the rear wheels by one plate instead. ^^ It would be too low then. And I think the dish parts would collide with the hood. I agree that they might look too high, but to be honest, I like them that way. I try to make a good Lego rendition of a real car, not a reproduction. If the MOC looks better with some "adjustments", then I'm fine with it. There are always compromises that have to be made. Thanks man !
  13. The silver part is a new add-on, and the golden one is clearly a #4 armor.
  14. Thanks for the positive feedback guys, that's really encouraging. :D Hum, it seems a tad too big to me, this part is two bricks tall. I replaced them, but I couldn't keep the transparent parts : You can see here that I filled the hood. Though, I'm not too sure about the center part, it looks weird, but a totally flat (i.e. with only tiles at the same level) hood would look too... flat. I've raised the wheel "covers" (do they have a special name ?) by one plates. Is it better now ? The front wheels are steerable, the Technic connector is here to link the wheel to the chassis :
  15. I'm pretty sure that discussing how to build the best breasts is off topic. I'm wondering which color will Lewa be. It might sound stupid, but although in his first two incarnations he was Green and Lime (BL) / Dark Green and Bright Yellowish Green (Lego), the last green constraction set which isn't Lime / Br. Yellowish Green or Dark Green (BL) / Earth Green (Lego) is Green Lantern, and his green was different from Lewa's green : it was Bright Green (BL / Lego). So the question is which shade of green do you think Lewa will be ? Green / Dk. Green or Br. Green ? I'd hope for good ol' Green, it would give us the opportunity to mix his parts with the first two Lewa's parts, and on the pics he seems to be green, but because of Green Lantern, a Bright Green Lewa is still possible, which wouldn't rejoice me.
  16. Thanks for your comments guys. Like this ? I'm not too sure about it, I prefer my first solution. BTW, here's some progress : Taking shape ! Hum... like this or this ?
  17. This must be the most unexpected entry of this contest. To be honest, I'm a regular visitor of this subforum, but I almost never post. I was interested in entering the contest, but I don't have the parts to build it IRL, and since the virtual entries don't seem to be authorized (unfortunately), I won't be able to participate. But this is no big deal, I'm not a car builder, I'm better at Action Figures and Microspace, but I still wanted to try, just for fun. Actually, it's my first big scaled car, so wish me luck ! I chose this car first of all because it's a famous French car, and also because it's my father's favorite car, so it's not a totally unknown subject to me. Here's my progress so far, I'm quite satisfied given it's the first time I build a car : The front might look out of proportions, but it's because of the angle, and the lack of mudguards. The front wheels are steerable and will be controlled via a HOG. The chassis is almost done, I still have to modify it a bit, do the bodywork and the interior. The doors will be openable, what you see now are just a template for the scale. The boot will be openable too. I think it's enough for a Model Team MOC. Since this is my first MOC of this kind, every comment, criticism (just don't be too harsh) or advice is very welcome. (:
  18. That would be disappointing IMO. x/
  19. And in other countries, BTW.
  20. Awesome ! I love when sets are conceived in a modular way and can be rearranged the way you want, and I'm sure it must be very fun to play with those. This is a brilliant concept to allow these sets to be "mixed" with each other.
  21. This is impressive ! I especially like the 64017, because the Dragonslayer is really nice and I like Skolek's color scheme, and the 64018, because it reminds me of Skyrim. But all of your sets are very well designed, and would make awesome Lego sets. Congrats !
  22. Great ! I especially like the pincers, the color scheme, and the legs.
  23. There's a huge difference : Bionicle is based on characters, while the themes you quote are based on vehicles or locations. Though, I'd like it if Bionicle were to come back every 4 or 5 years, if they don't reboot it each time. We could have two or three years story arcs each time. Basically, likthe story we know, but instead of making it run for ten years, make some pauses.
  24. Thanks. (: Yeah, of course ! I will keep it, I think a staff is appropriate for a tall and thin character like my Crystal Beast. I just need to find an interesting design. The only one thing I'm sure about is that it will have a Chi part at the end.
  25. Got Evo Walker and Crystal Beast, I'm currently MODding it : Crystal Beast MOD / revamp WIP by ToaLeewan, on Flickr As said in the pic description, I can't add any more tr. blue, unless I buy more parts (which I'll eventually do sooner or later^^). Here's a picture of the back assembly, if anyone's interested.
