  1. Interesting names, thanks! Strange that there's only one large game. Nice to see Ramses back, though. More mummies!
  2. Aw, man. Samurai, Mummy and Elf - that's three army figs! Plus people may want a full team of baseball players. This is going to be interesting. There's not a single fig here I don't like. That's so weird. I didn't like series 2 as much as series 1, but I think series 3 might be the best yet. Three female figs, two variations on my favourite accessory from S1 (the space gun), a bunch of body parts I really need, and the figs themselves look fantastic for display. Can't wait.
  3. A review of the box?
  4. +1 for sijones855, thanks!
  5. It's a new spear design, and they all have flexible blades. This seems to be a new thing for Lego, the blade of Prince of Persia's Dagger of Time is also made of flexible plastic. Using two plastics is likely expensive, though, so it'll likely only happen on special, high-detail weapons like these.
  6. Thanks for the very informative review! Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of the set, I don't like the front of the car. It loses a lot of the sleek beauty of the real thing. They do a decent job of capturing the lines elsewhere but the jaggy front end just hurts it for me.
  7. Well, while we're on the subject of hands.... Hand up who didn't think that when they saw the photo?
  8. +1 to SilentMode for sorting me out with some minifigs!
  9. I'd have those three - the Cheerleader is open but the Wrestler and Robot are still sealed. Would you trade for a Spartan and Skier? I'm in Ireland, which isn't exactly the UK but hopefully close enough
  10. I've been watching an unbelievably good anime called Hajime no Ippo recently and this is the second-season opening tune (full version). Once you get used to the Engrish, it's amazing, I've been playing it over and over while browsing the net these days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x46ikNxnRjQ&feature=player_embedded
  11. Now that I've finally got all sixteen, there are a few things I'd like to point out: - The popstar - the final fig I needed, just got her today - is way better than I'd thought. I wish I had more than one. - The surfer's torso is nice and I've been accumulating them, but was neon orange really the best colour choise? Surely black or brown would have been better? - I love the fact that one of the Spartan's eyes is squinting. Makes him look even more crazed. - I really wish they'd make a smaller broom. I see that the witch's one is being used in the new Harry Potter sets but it's ridiculously out of scale with City brushes and spades. Overall, I voted that I preferred Series 1 back when this thread started and I think I still feel that way. Series 2 is great, Series 1 is just better.
  12. I love that RC! And the new Chunk is definitely an improvement, too! At the risk of overworking you, how about putting spikes behind his seat too, or even instead?
  13. The new album from Fight Like Apes. Got it today. It's just like the first one - awesome!
  14. Yes, I love the idea for Category 2! I'm already assembling it in my head (some teardown was required when I realized that a 16x16 base is not the same as a 32x32 base...) so I'll definitely put a lot of effort in there. It'll be my second-favourite Series 1 fig with my fave Series 2 fig, unless that doesn't work out. Thanks for the opportunity! The standard last time round was fantastic so I'm-a looking forward to this!
  15. Tough one, for Series 2 anyhow. Series 1, I went with the lazer gun because it looks great by itself, but several can be combined to create a variety of interesting shapes I plan to use, and they also make great greebling. It's a very versatile and classy piece. Series 2, I ended up plumbing for the Pharoah's staff. I'm a huge fan of Egyptian themes so, while it's the exact opposite of the ray gun in terms of utility, it's still a rather excellent little thingumybob. The popstar's hair is probably what I'll use most often.
  16. I hadn't even noticed that
  17. Hmm, the only set I want is Hagrid's Hut and Smyths.ie has that listed at €49.99. This line is even more expensive than I'd been expecting, and I'd been expecting expensive.
  18. Okay, so the bar has been set at 34! Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, who's going to beat 34? Also, I agree, the bendy spear isn't an issue, it looks exactly the same as a non-bendy one. And being made of different plastic is what gave them the excuse to colour it differently anyway, if it had been solid it would have been monochrome.
  19. I haven't read any of those, just a preview chapter in the back of one of the more recent mainline books.
  20. A house without Blu-Tac? What kind of crazy upside-down world do you live in!? But seriously, the Blu-Tac idea is the one I'd reccommend too, hopefully the hairpiece isn't too non-sticky for it to work. I have the same problems with all of my Exo-Force hairpieces but it's not really an issue since they're mostly standing still on display.
  21. Pfft! Your son? Yeah, right... I'm going to go into town later and see if I can rustle up the five I'm missing. I'm not going to start avidly barcoding for Spartans for a week or two, to give kids a chance to get them, but I need surfer torsos for some current MOCs so I'll try to hunt for those. I'm not really that interested in amassing a Spartan army, the way I amassed a Zombie one, because I want to save that energy for a certain Series 3 fig, but I would like a handful.
  22. These are really great, Oky, but there's one Lego Toy Story character you missed - RC himself! Have you thought about making a 4-wide version of him?
  23. Uhrr, I really dislike those minifigs. I'd love to get Jessie and Buzz with alternate expressions, but the dirt printing ruins it for me. It's the same reason I don't own the incinerator set. I think both sets would have been just fine without the dirt printing, that's not exactly difficult for kids to imagine is there. Shame, because Twitch is a rare fig I'd like to own. They thankfully didn't dirty him up.
  24. I had an opportunity to buy this set about a year ago, but passed because the dinosaur looked so horrible. Thanks for the informative review; I'm not too gone on the buggy either so my original decision was a good one. It would need to be very cheap for me to get it now. I hadn't known that the set was different in America. I wonder why the European version was changed. It's not like other European lines don't have guns.
