  1. - "The Master has not supplied me with sufficient dialog to maintain this rus-" "That's enough, Alfred. Leave this poor creature be." Nur wiped a tear from his eye. He found himself quite hilarious even if no one else did. "I should have sought more experienced help but I thought I could figure it out meself. The rocks ended up flaking off on their own." He extended a hand towards Skrall then introduced his companion. "This is Alfred. He owes me his life so serves as a bodyguard. He grows extra shiny when he gets defensive. Mmhm. Who is your fair skinned companion?"
  2. Nur peeked through the railing from the stairway to see who was currently dining in Scheherazade's Saloon. He ducked down and whispered, "Now, like we planned. Remember to smile real big." A shabby figure walked passed Tesni's table to stop at another... "Greetings friend, Skrall. It is I, En Sabah Nur. It seems the ailment behind my stone encased arm has progressed since our last venture into the Fields of Glory unless you have seen Nur since the rocks mysteriously fell from his arm in anti-climatic fashion. " Nur stood with mouth agape for a few seconds before he cackled loudly making little attempt to conceal himself. It seemed he was up to the same lame tricks.
  3. 7 months! I didn't know it was that long! I thought the pace was fine because unfortunately I often come to forget the "game" part of RPG a lot of the time and focus too heavily on the roleplay. I actually don't mind (maybe a little) waiting 24+hrs for a PC's response if it'd make the current conversation or storyline better/believable/realistic. I don't like when one or two hyper active PCs overrun a quest and don't give slower posting players a chance to have a voice. I think not being allowed to shine is a contributing factor as to why so many good players/characters end up leaving the game before their time so-to-speak. This attitude I have towards pacing also stems from me not reading quests I'm not in until they're long over so I'm never looking at the dates posts were made. I believe I mentioned via PM that my seeming "disinterest" because of my sparse posting in the beginning was merely my character playing along with the ruse of letting his employer Ellaria do the talking while Nur did the bodyguarding. Others' "disinterest" may have been RL issues or hosting and/or participating in multiple other quests with their secondary characters. Some grew frustrated but I don't mind rereading through the quest I'm participating in to remember details I've forgotten but my character should or should not remember. There are some things I pick up on as a player that my character wouldn't so sometimes I wait/hope another PC will get it and if they don't then I usually let it pass. In life not everything gets to be tied up nice and pretty so it's fine with me that Nur never saw Figgle again but I'm assuming he lived to show up in another quest. The Naga will be missed. Who was the character standing in the middle of the Rusty Minecart? He/she was was holding the feather/quill and had the empty-potatosack-looking cape, errand quest NPC? I was so engaged with the naga that I didn't think it was right to just start talking to someone else so was hoping another PC would chat that NPC up. Vindicator is an awesome warrior class and one I'd strive to get towards for my next character but might have to scrap Nur for since I'm too far away from unlocking a second character. Vindicator provides variety to a melee class which is neat because these classes are usually just target/fire-and-forget. It was fun trying to determine which target would need an oath directed towards it for future rounds then in the next round choose the vindicator's primary target. Using sword and board for defense or throwing shield to the wayside for increased 2-hand grip dealt damage is a really cool mechanic. I had wondered about the golem kidneys and why there was only one. Next time, Mycenia...next time. WBD let me in on some insider information: Golem Kidney stones are utilized in the production of Grating Stones, 5 Golem Kidney stones will yield 1 Grating Stone when manufactured by someone with the proper processing procedure. Thanks for letting me contribute to the development of golem lore a bit with Alfred's explanation: Not sure if it'll be accepted as cannon based on the wiki being about Golem Hearts only. Thank you very much for improving Alfred. I really wouldn't have minded if the vat straight up melted him into nothing. Easy come easy go I guess. Nur would have been devastated though. Lol The puzzles were neat. CMP was quick on that rapids puzzle. I got home from work then saw the puzzle and that it was solved all at the same time. For the mine rail puzzle I had printed and cut out the pieces and had solved it with the fixed piece (at least I believe I did) but my son destroyed the pieces before I could get the solution situated on the screen then I just got too busy to attempt it again before the time was up. Amazing scenery as always, great loot and services. Unsure as to why the Party didn't take more advantage of those services with their abundance of gold. I liked the Fungoids but wanted the young one's fear in the golem battle to truly infect the Party and give us the Afraid effect or something similiar hehe. I also liked how the Party(Nur) botched the Xor interaction to the point where mentioning Rip's name would probably not have worked to gain Xor's favor to complete the sub-quest. I had fun, thanks for bringing me.
  4. "Wrong? I'll tell you what's wrong..." En Sabah Nur slammed his fist hard on the table. He remembered the Lapid's incredible hearing and hoped the noise would distract him long enough for his comrades to come up with a good excuse. Something the Party should probably have worked out before returning. "...RACISM! As soon as I stepped foot in Krumpknob it started just because they don't like men made of stone. Which seems a bit odd for Orrik worshippers if ya ask me. It was a mission just trying to get some food down there."
  5. "Oops, I'd almost forgotten. Ellaria, I mentioned it in passing but have since forgotten what you'd said about the matter. I met a squid-headed being named Boogie Brains at Kog's & Company here in Brumpknob who had his Alchemist's Acid stolen. Most likely the one you're still holding. If you're keen on keeping it though, it's of no consequence to me but there might be a reward for its return. Otherwise, I am ready to return to Krumpknob and find that dwarf captain who said he owes us one. I still don't know how that Neddy fellow managed to survive..." Nur's thoughts drifted towards Figgle as he waited at the city's entrance for his comrades.
  6. Nur lets out a long whistle. "She is a beaut' she is! Thing's shinier than me pal Alfred!" He nodded to Atramor. "Yes, well me friend and I defeated and dispersed a large mythril stealing organization. This one here took on 'alf an army by 'imself 'e did." The mage didn't even notice himself slipping into the accent. "He deserves a discount, 'e does! With the thieves out of action the actual true mythril distribution rate should return to normal. Alright sir, I am off to Samwerk's Bakery to grab a few treats for the long trip home. Thanks again." En Sabah Nur headed to Odmin's Armory. "Ok Alfred, hold me belongings and wait out here again. I'm sure Odmin can smell Fodmin's craftmanship 48 studs away!" He entered the shop. "Greetings, I would like to purchase the Helm of Horror and put this Topaz in my heavy armour? Can you custom fit it as well?" Nur's Purchases: Helm of Horror: 300-75 gold = 225 gold Topaz (-50) + Custom Fitting (-150) to Heavy Armour = 25 gold + Custom Fitted Sealed and Insolated Heavy Armour of Brilliance Somewhere along the way Nur runs into Ellaria... "Use this to serve as the compensation you were promised by the Bonapartes." En Sabah Nur gives Ellaria his Mythril Shard. "My golem's coated in the stuff!"
  7. "Thank ye for the escort, lass. Your devotion to your deity is admirable and the benefits of such devotion are enviable." Nur offers a curt bow then heads to Fodmin's Armory. I hope it's open... He pauses a moment to get himself into diplomatic character. "Wait outside a moment, Alfred. Stand guard or something." A dejected Nur enters the shop with head hung low, staring at the floor a moment before reaching Fodmin. "As you might already be aware, I failed to get your name bumped on Xor's list. However, I did manage to find a way to increase the amount of mythril leaving Frumpknob so your requested shipments should start costing you less gold. I also came across this Henrys Award I could sell to ye. It is worth at least 200 gold. If ye accept it I could make use of some of yer services. In particular the Morph Equipment service. Could ye reforge my Unlucky Horseshoe from a throwing weapon to a crossbow? A gift for a rather large friend of mine who could put it to good use and if not...I could use the practice." Nur's Actions: Sell Henry Award: +200 gold Morph Unlucky Horseshoe to xbow: -150 gold
  8. Nur flinches as Ellaria says his name. "Well I have business to conduct in Brumpknob so I will not speak of these events to the Bonapartes. Can't beat dwarven crafsmanship. Did I ever tell you all that me mum was half dwarf?"
  9. En Sabah Nur nods in agreement. He tries to remain diplomatic but well...he's not always the best at it because he's Nur... "Chief Kulbin, my comrades and I came here under pretenses that although were noble, were false nonetheless. Us serving as bodyguards for Doctor Ellaria's mission to establish trade with your people was one of many lies told including the one I told the Party about Xor just so I could try to earn extra coin. I should make an effort to apologize to that man. uh, lies told to ensure our primary mission to uncover the truth behind the missing mythril was successful. I will not plead for this dwarf's life as it is your right to punish him and his accomplices how you see fit but I urge you to take a look at the good his actions have brought. He managed to unite the dark dwarf population and focus them towards a solitary goal. Perhaps relations could be repaired there. They have some redeeming qualities...Just look at what they've constructed! Instead of stripping these machines down for parts, put them to use to actually extend trade beyond Uland. You can cover the expansive waters while bypassing those pretentious Bonapartes at the same time. Am I right?" Nur looks around hopeful someone agrees with him. "You're also going to need a new High Chief. I don't know how your election or appointment process works but that's another issue you're going to have to work out."
  10. "As a true child of Oleg, your actions offend me. We're waiting, High Priest. Speak!" En Sabah Nur looked incredulously upon his servant as it spoke out of turn. SuggestedLoot Distribution: 384 gold: En Sabah Nur - 234 gold + Mythril Axe (150 gold) 508 gold: Ellaria - 233 gold + Fire Bomb x5 (25 gold) + Mythril Shard(250 gold) ~400+ gold: Atramor - 233 gold + Scroll of Chasm(? gold) + Living Shield(~50-100 gold) + Ether Core x2(~100 gold?) ~550 gold: Tesni - Honor Guard Helmet(~120-150+ gold) + Honor Guard Axe(~100-150 gold) + Mythril Shard(250 gold)
  11. En Sabah Nur takes 175 gold and the Mythril Axe (WP: 15, Axe). "I'll take that...and a few coins to spend at Odmin's. This dwarf needs medical attention so he can stand trial for his crimes. Even with the righteous Dumora as witness, I'm sure the people of the Cities Under the Mountain will have a difficult time believing the High Priest was responsible for the mythril shortage."
  12. With the enemy numbers dwindled and in the capable hands of his comrades, Nur focused on enchanting his staff. He retreated to the back row, ready to swing his staff at Dark Dwarf Spear Mob A should they get too close. Dumora gripped Foe Smiter with two hands and charged Dark Dwarf Spear Mob A from the front row. Order of Actions: Pegasus >En Sabah Nur Ellaria Dumora >Atramor Tesni
  13. OoC: Oops, I forgot to list Pegasus after the Fragilization hehe Nur looked to the warrior women then back to the enemies ahead. It might hurt but there was a good chance everyone would come out of the assault still conscious...En Sabah Nur cast a lightning spell at the High Priest of Orrik from the back row. Dumora attacked the High Priest of Orrik with her Living Mythril Longsword using the Zweihander grip from the front row swearing an oath of retribution against the traitorous leader. SuggestedOrder of Actions: Pegasus >Atramor >Ellaria >Nur Tesni - High Priest of Orrik Dumora
  14. OoC: Suggestions... Dumora takes a defensive posture and equips her shield. She cautiously engages Dark Dwarf Miner B with Foe Smiter from the back row. Though careful, Dumora is confident no damage will breach her defense. Her oath against the mob remains. Tesni continues with Cysgodion against the Brumpknob Honor Guard from the front row. Order of Actions: Pegasus >Dumora >Atramor Tesni >Nur >Ellaria
  15. En Sabah Nur casts a lightning spell at Load Worker from the back row, enchanting his staff if he received the inspiration. EDIT: Now enchanting staff.
  16. "Dumora! Do something about that mob before the rest make it through the smoke!" Dumora strikes Dark Dwarf Guard Mob (6) with Foe Smiter using the Zweihander grip from the back row swearing an oath of retribution against it. En Sabah Nur threw a Croise Croissant into the maw of the eyeless Scarlet Worm. OoC: back row, still zweihander grip
  17. "Alright. Do ye have a smoke bomb to cover us?" En Sabah Nur pushes forward through the dwarves as he moves to the Nautili Loading location.
  18. "Get up. Quickly! We haven't much time!" En Sabah Nur uses a phoenix incense from the back row.
  19. Hehe I thought about joining the Crescent Union to use my 1 vote for Jun and stay long enough to see him stay ahead in the polls then leave when my vote no longer mattered. :-D
  20. A letter in reply to the Wolf King's Followers' invitation makes its way to the Den. Greetings, It seems Eubric Freeport is presented with a conflict between choosing to side with those trying to better the city at the risk of destroying it or giving up and accepting the current stability under morally flexible rule. Many a great civilization was built upon dubious and often treacherous acts. An offered payment here or there to ignore or support actions that otherwise would not or should not occur. Great monuments, everyday structures and services provided by the arduous and unending efforts of thousands forced to work against their will for little or more often no compensation. Taking the lives of people who would interfere with the overall scheme. Bribery, slavery, prostitution, murder etc. Horrible atrocities that provide the necessary capital to birth grandiose things. The bad is usually forgotten by history after these things are abolished or at least deemed so highly offensive by the majority that they are no longer acceptable practices. The ruling houses believe the city functions smoothly and seek to keep life how it is. This includes how life in the Hovels is. Your organization is the only one to make strides towards improving things for everyone and eliminating the bad. Most of Heroica's heroes believe that following the would-be Wolf King is not the right thing for Eubric's citizens to do. I say Sign me up. ~ En Sabah Nur En Sabah Nur joins the Wolf King's Followers!
  21. OoC: I guess so. No guts no glory; Go big or go home; Rock out with your ---- out; Balls to the wall! etc. Dumora attacked Mythril Drill Engine B using the Living Mythril Longsword with the Zweihander grip from the front row swearing an oath of retribution. SuggestedOrder of Actions: Tesni Dumora Ellaria Nur
  22. En Sabah Nur moves to the Mythril Drill site.
  23. As she raises her axe, Dumora sees the dwarf leader back pedaling. Dumora takes the opportunity to move to the Drill Location hoping Tesni would follow. Nur would head to the drilling site as soon as he was able. SuggestedOrder of Actions: Nur - Gaia Bomb Ellaria - Gaia Bomb Dumora - moves to Mythril drill Tesni - moves to Mythril drill
  24. Nur's lips tightened as the light show ended at the drill location. "When I was an extremely inexperienced spellslinger of our esteemed guild, a voice called out to me advising me to use these things. I ignored it completely at the time and thinking back now, I really have no idea as to my what my thoughts were exactly during that skirmish. But ever since then, I've come to rely on these pretty heavily. Are ye ready now Ellaria?" En Sabah Nur throws a Gaia Bomb. Dumora attacks Uthrin Sootbeard using Foe Smiter with the Zweihander grip from the front row swearing an oath of retribution. SuggestedOrder of Actions: Nur Ellaria Dumora Tesni
  25. Unwilling to abandon her current enemies, Dumora ignores Nur's request to help the pirate. She turns back to attack Dark Dwarf Engineer D with her Foe Smiter axe using the Zweihander grip from the front row swearing an oath of retribution against the tinkerer. From the corner of his eye, Nur sees that Ellaria can barely hold her vial steady so he halts his throw. "We'll get 'em next timeround." En Sabah Nur casts a lightning spell at Load Worker from the back row. SuggestedOrder of Actions: Tesni vs. Dark Dwarf Engineer B Dumora En Sabah Nur Ellaria EDIT: Enhance shield.
