  1. Labdien de marco! A very neat creation you have there. You are good at taking pictures too. I actually lived in Riga for a year, and only moved away a few months ago and I really miss it. Latvia is a stunning place. You should try building some MOC's of some of the beautiful buildings they have there. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work!
  2. As I still haven't got the possibility to make any MOC's of my own at the moment, I figured I should at least share a link to a Brickshelf user who has some pretty cool creations. I am not sure if any of you have seen his creations before. Below is just one of them. You should have a browse through all of his folders. His contact information is on Brickshelf so feel free to write to him if you would like to praise his work. I probably will. click here for more In the mean time I am on holiday from this coming week so I will be making a few BlueBrick contributions and hopefully I will be able to start some proper MOC's once I have moved into my new flat and will actually have some room for a LEGO collection. Happy building!
  3. If the motors are facing away from eachother you can use the solution I found for my BR50 which avoided using any space consuming switches or custom cables. click here Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the underside so the you will have to follow the detailed written instructions I gave to another train fan. Let me know if you have any questions. You can also send me a PM message. click here
  4. Hi FreeBee, unfortunately I didn't get as much time as I wanted to work on these, so they are a little rough, but I hope they do the trick. You might have to adjust your XML a bit. Let me know how it goes! GIF GIF
  5. That is great to hear! Feel free to post any questions you might have concerning it's use. Don't forget to watch the tutorial videos too. They have quite a few time saving tips. Yup, I agree. Which 80s sets are you looking for? Post your requests in this thread. Yeah, I asked Alban for that too, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be possible at the moment. Thanks for posting you layout! It is great to see some of the GIFs I created being used by someone else. You can post all future developments in the dedicated digital layout thread here. I am looking forward to seeing more soon!
  6. Oops! You are absolutely right. I will make new ones this week. Yup, I agree with that. Perhaps all the train buildings and the trains sets in the standard pack along with the tables track pieces and baseplates. All the non train related GIFs (city, duplo, space...), could go into the add-on library. As many opinions on this subject as possible would be much appreciated. Looking good! That is a good request I will add that to the index (haven't worked on that in ages). A while back I also requested that it remembers the window size it had when the program was last used. I have just added that to the request list too. I also just wanted to check to see if anyone will still be adding any more GIFs? I will hopefully have a bit of time over the next weeks to work on my items in the "under construction" list.
  7. Here you go FreeBee. They are slightly rushed (won't have time to actually check how they will work with you XML either unfortunately), but I hope they do the job. Send your XMLs to Alban if you think they need reworking. I am looking forward to seeing these in your actual layout. Let me know if they need reworking. GIF GIF I would also like to note that this updated part was unfortunately not included in the 1.5/1.5.2 parts libraries so download it here if required. GIF
  8. Hi FreeBee, i will rework the GIFs for you. I noticed you used the pre 1.5 versions so I will start from scratch with the newer ones. I will ask Alban to have a look at the XML once I have done the GIFs. This might take a while though as I am swamped with work at the moment. Thanks for posting your request and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
  9. I had the decal sheets for an inkjet printer and the printing quality was quite ok (I should add this was many years ago and since then printers and sheets have no doubt improved). But like Aawsum said and I also previously mentioned, they (especially clear), are quite expensive. You can also get regular sticker sheets, pre-cut or un-cut from manufacturers like Avery which you will also find in the stores I mentioned a previous post. Microsoft Word usually has many of the Avery label templates stored in its label printing function. I am really looking forward to seeing what you will be using these for! And that is a cool site! I have added that to my favorites.
  10. Hi Leergut. That is nice and symetrical! It's a shame there aren't any pictures. I noticed you also zip your files and attatch them to your posts. Might I recommend that you use the "export picture" function in BlueBrick and then put the picture of your BlueBrick layout on a website such as Brickshelf or Flickr with a deep link to your post in Eurobricks? That way everyone can see your layouts without having to download and unzip the files. You also won't have any problems with the limited attatchement size in this forum. This link provides a quick instruction on how it works. I am looking forward to seeing more layouts soon!
  11. Very cool! The Smart dealerships that I have seen so far do... or at least did look like that. I haven't seen the tower design for while now. It is a shame as I thought it was a neat idea. I am also looking forward to seeing some different colored cars in your creation. Keep it up! This is a seriously great MOC!
  12. Hi there. It might help if you posted an image or a link to which stickers or decals you are referring to. Generally however a well stocked arts and crafts store, stationery store or even an IT store with a good selection of printing supplies, will be able to provide you with either clear, or white decal sheets for which ever type of printer you have at home. I think there is a Staples and Office Depot in Edinburgh, but smaller stores usually have them too. Print your decals on cheap, regular paper first until you get the size right. The decal sheets are rather expensive. Hope that helps!
  13. Very cool! I actually have a few of those old motors (in storage along with the rest of my Lego), so when I get around to building a layout again I will try that out!
  14. Hi Tony, thanks for feedback! I just looked up the Challenger and it seems to have 69" drivers so I think th XL's would probably look quite good. I can imagine it will be a lot of work to retro-fit the T1 but I think it would look amazing. I can't wait to see your interpretation of the 5AT. It seems so have a very curvy, aerodamic shape so it will definitely be a challenge. My alternative to the Challenger is the British Tornado which can be found here. I wouldn't mind having something in green for a change. Only drawback is that the wheels are green too.. so I might have to wait a bit. On a side note, I am not sure how long it will take Ben to find someone to make LDraw/CAD versions of the XL wheels, but thanks to HoMa pointing out that it is the same size as the spoked wheels (part 35), one can use those in MLCad instead. How about the rest of you guys? Which trains would you build with XL drivers?
  15. That is great news! I almost regret buying the wheels for my next MOC last summer, but I am sure I'll still be able to put them to use somewhere. I have been searching the net for trains which would compliment this size of wheel. I was originally going to build a Challenger but I am not sure whether these wheels are the right scale. I'll be looking into that and the opinions of fellow Eurobrick users are welcome too! Which locomotive would, or will you guys be building with these wheels?
  16. Right, at long last here is a descent video of my BR50 in action. Check out the video here It is running at about 50% power at this point. The new remote (set 8879) with the adjustable speeds is definitely worth the few extra Euros. As I mentioned earlier, this set was a present for some friends and was given to them completely disassembled at Christmas. It took them about a day and a half with various family members working on different parts in parallel, and the video shows the end result. The original idea was that it would run under the Christmas tree but unfortunately there were too many low hanging branches which one would have had to cut off (which is why it is on the table).
  17. Aah, that's why that shed looked familiar. Yes that would be another reason why making it a plate or two lower would be easier than making it wider.
  18. A great MOC! Thanks for including the pictures of the original too! Great color and details including the engine, cab, and front and back of the locomotive. I agree with aawsum. It seems a little tall for its width. I would either try to make it one or two plates lower, or make it a 7 wide (definitely the more difficult option). The shed is a great addition too. Have you already posted photos of that? If not, I think you should!
  19. Good point FreeBee and thanks for the GIF! I have already put it in my layout. Here are some more that I have been working on. GIF XML : 6398 Central Precinct HQ GIF XML : 6561 Hot Rod Club GIF XML : 6595 Surf Shack GIF XML : 4537 Twin Tank Transport Then there is one more GIF from Jerome Boulanger. If you want to check out the great classic space GIFs he donated you should have a look at the last post here. GIF XML : 6381 Motor Speedway With work starting up again tomorrow my donations will once again be relatively few and far between but I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else creates. I will update the BlueBrick index with the latest creations this evening.
  20. As this is my last weekend before going back to work I have been pushing ahead with my virtual layout (I vow to build a real one again one of these days). I have used the area and text layers in BlueBrick to highlight the different zones in the layout. I have added a few new GIFs today and I'll add a few more tomorrow, which I will post in the BlueBrick discussion thread before the end of the weekend. There is still a load more to add, especially to the paradise beach, industrial area and space center, but that will have to wait. I haven noticed that some of the zone colors look pretty similar unless the image is viewed in full size. By they way Patje, I just saw the moving bridge video you posted! That is really great! What do you use to control it?
  21. It is high time to post several more classic space GIFs. The MLCad files of the sets were made by Brickshelf user Jerome Boulanger who kindly made high res screen shots which I just had to resize and do a bit of photoshop work. I have included the XML files as they are quite important for the correct positioning of these files. They also include the credit for Jerome's work and the peeron picture link which will provide the picture for the BlueBrick parts list that you might generate. If you have any requests do let me know by sending me a PM! (I don't check the sci-fi forum on a regular basis). Happy building! 22. Really nice! I agree with the ideas for modifications made above. I would also use black wheel covers instead of gray to increase the contrast. I really like the black, white and red color choice. I am looking forward to seeing any further modifications (and perhaps some more pictures :) !).
  23. Fantastic. Very clean lines with just enough detail. I like the grills which are flush with the body work as well as the slope bricks which create the diagonal white/green split. I also like the slightly narrower sections just before the cab. It makes the shape a lot more interesting. I would really like to see you make some wagons for this!
  24. Ok everyone. We owe a BIG thank you to a fellow brickshelf user today. His name is Jerome BOULANGER and he was kind enough to provide me with a huge selection of high quality, top view screen shots of his MLCad models. All I had to do was a bit of resizing and photoshop work. The train sets you will see below are absolute classics and I know from seeing many of the real layouts out there, that several of these are very much in use today (Eurbricks users such as Panda and Patje come to mind). Jerome also provided a great selection of Classic space sets which I will be posting in the sci-fi section at some point this weekend. I have already added the missing train sets to my track. I will be posting the XML files for these GIFs over the weekend which will contain the credit for Jerome plus the peeron picture link for the BlueBrick parts list. Jerome offered to make more CAD models, so if you have a request, post it in this thread. Enjoy! 25. Very cool! I would love to see that train put into a wintery Lego scene with lots of trees and perhaps a few snow covered buildings.
