  1. It's not available in England from the Lego online store, I wonder if that's because we've had the tractor before, whereas USA (officially) never have. I am not sure if anyone in England has seen one in Toys R US yet, I've not had chance to go myself to check it out.
  2. Argh, I came in here hoping to see pictures! After the leak on Amazon the other week I have been excited to see the new models, esp. the Tractor - it HAS to be a new model Tractor :)
  3. It looks like it works the same as the Cherry Picker did, which was pretty clever. I'll dig out some pics that others users took on here... Thanks, Z06 :)
  4. I couldn't resist this fab looking model so I have ordered it. When I get it I'll build the 'B' Model first and take some pictures and put them here, I've not seen any around yet.
  5. Wow, that's a seriously nice B model of the Crane Truck, thanks for the images. The pickup truck looks superb and those lovely red panels really give it nice lines (Lego sure love their primary colours!). Now I want the Crane Truck model! Actually, I think I might get the B model manual from Legos site and try and build the pickup truck myself :) That would please the girlfriend more then me buying another big model this year :D
  6. Yeah I'd like to know, I might buy another one :D
  7. I'll have a think, although I reckon it would ruin the "smooth" lines of the scoop if you added too much to the edges of the scoop. I have just this minute finished building the Bulldozer and I am incredibly impressed with it. Not only does it look fantastic (incredibly accurate, beefy and chunky - very satisfying), but the motorisation part of it is incredible! My two cats were very curious about it and it scared them when it started spinning around and driving along hee hee! I have laminent throughout so its not got 100% traction, but it seems very powerful and its decently fast two. Building this model was a joy, and I am so happy that its got plenty of both traditional Technic bricks AND full Lego pieces too. I know its two years old now and brandnew models don't have as much studded stuff, but it's great to see it back in modern-ish Technic. Although I never got stuck building this, I would still call it a nice challenge, especially compared to the Cherry Picker etc; it's just ace having all these functions and a super complex chassis structure. I'd imagine the 2009 Crane Truck is a true dream to build up (as this, really, doesn't have THAT many functions). I am so happy right now, it's been a great building experience and it's a beautiful model for display. Oh, and to play with it is awesome! I hope Lego bring out more motorised stuff next year :) One final question; I have the controls setup so that Forward and Forward makes the Bulldozer move forward, standard stuff. However when I switch channels, Back (or down) on the controls makes the scoop and fork go up. Switching the direction on the remote fixes this, but changing that every time is a pain. Have people messed around with the position of the cables from the motor so the controls make a little more sense? Oh also, my cables are set up correctly for the XL motors, and they aren't as tight as I thought they were - all good. So top marks from me for 8275, it's just a superb model and the fact its fully motorised is just perfection :)
  8. Also, the edges of the scoop feel a little flimsy and are easy to knock off. They are only held on by a bunch of the blue pins: Are other peoples scoop edges feel not entirely solid? I only ask because normally Lego stuff is much more solid.
  9. OK thanks. I have looked on SETechnic at their photos and its looks similar. One cable is definetly tighter than the other one (the one on the right of this image) I'll check later but I am 99.9% positive my cables face inward..
  10. Nearly at the 3rd and final instruction book now, and I've noticed a couple of things which I thought I would ask about: - The cables from the XL motors are very tight in the model, is this right? I have routed them as required but they feel tight - The cables route around the drivers seat and are easily visible, is that correct? - Cables, again: A couple of them seem to be touch an axle within the model, although I think it will be for the front or rear implements. Will this cause problems? Just wondering if anyones Bulldozer was similar? Thanks!
  11. Imagine how complex a new model could be hmmmm :)
  12. Somthing 8443 would be great, all modernised with maybe a new colour scheme (orange or white would be cool). I agree, it has to be a different model to the 8063 tractor which is already a duplicate. I looked at some pictures online of "Forest Tractors" and they are not like the traditional type, so we should be in for a new, fresh looking design.
  13. I started building my Buldozer this evening and have just completed the first of three books. So far I am absolutely loving building this model, it seems so compact but pouring out details, it's ace. This is my first modern day flagship model and it's been a delight to build. I know it's two years old now, but it's great to see studded beams and regular Lego in the box, not that I am atall against studless construction. The build started off with small amounts of pieces per step but it has moved up a gear or two now and they have you doing much more per step. Compared to my Test Car rebuild recently it's not as complex, but there is still a fair amount to it. Can't wait to carry on tomorrow :)
  14. Maybe the leaked 1H2010 Forest Tractor with Crane will feature pneumatics? That would be great :)
  15. That truck looks really cool, want one!
  16. That is awesome, the way it zips around reminds me of the little wheel changer people who were the pitcrew for Lightning McQueen in Cars. Would be good to have some more details on it, how the lift mechanism works and how you've powered the wheels/transmission etc...
  17. Woow wow wow that's a harsh review, but from looking at it I'd say it was pretty fair. It doesn't sound like a typical Technic set to me, so your thoughts that it is just a quick knock-up job for Toys R Us is probably right. I hope the leaked 2010 Forest Tractor with Crane is a new, original model and better than this. Thanks for the review, and I feel guilty for asking you to get it! At
  18. Brilliant, I look forward to reading and looking through your progress. If there is one piece of advice I could give you when cleaning the pieces, it would be to make sure you dry each and every piece. I found using a paper towel from the kitchen was great for this job, as it absorbs any water that is sitting in the pieces. Good luck and fun, that truck looks ace :)
  19. I quite fancy the look of this model and I noticed on Youtube some people have fully motorised it, so it works like the Bulldozer and also has power functions on the arm itself too (obv. this part is "official"). Just wondered if anyone here has done this and how difficult it was to integrate to motors into the chassis of the model?
  20. Blakbird (or anyone), have you built the B model yet? It looks really interesting too.
  21. Brickshelf is working for me now so I could take a look at your photos. The portal axle you have created is very interesting indeed and really smart, you must know a fair bit about offroad trial trucks. A friend of mine has an RC Tamiya offroad truck and that has the live axle too, although it doesn't feature the portal system. Do you have a problem with gears breaking with this model? Is there a large strain on the system? Looks really cool, if I had the spares I'd build it myself :)
  22. One final photo before I move onto my next old Technic project. I am looking at rebuilding my old Arctic Explorer (8660) Jeep. It wasn't a super technical model but as a child I quite enjoyed it. Also, its white and contains another model which fits in the back, so it's kinda interesting. Anyway.. She is looking lovely in the summer sun :)
  23. Wow, awesome design! Would be cool to have a parts list and instructions :) Or at least lots more photos! The bricklink page is down at the moment, is there more detailed info there? What Lego models did you use for parts?
  24. WOW at your collection, that is incredible!! I love your storage solutions for all the spare parts, I could do with getting something similar myself. Did you get those from Ikea too?
  25. I just saw that it has 1100 pieces, so its another huge set for this year.. Maybe next year we will see a Technic flagship break 2000 pieces?
