  1. I am the same with 8258, it just doesn't do quite enough for me. It should have a motorised boom and winch, and the motorised outriggers are pointless because they only do half a job. Maybe we were spoiled by 8275 which was fully motorised and remote controlled...
  2. I have mine in Ikea shelving which has multiple square shaped blocks where I place each model. They work nicely and are big enough to generally fit flagships in. My 8275 sits in it happily with just the front poking out a little bit.
  3. It didn't arrive, the snow in England has grinder everything to a halt, the councils can't cope with dealing with weather like that! Hopefully tomorrow....
  4. Thanks for the write up, mine is on its way and I am looking forward to building it. The Power Function thing is really odd. After reading the description in the USA catalogue it's definitely not a typo as it specifically mentions "bringing the truck to life", so perhaps Lego will release instructions shortly. I am surprised there is nothing in the instructions about it though. What about on the box? Does it say anything there? Some photos would be great if you can find your camera! :)
  5. Awesome! I just hope the exchange rate is better for us Brits, the Crane Truck is £130! I am surprised there were no more picture scans from the catalogue of the 2H2010 models. The scans we got had page numbers so I would have thought there would be bigger photos of the boxes on those pages.. 8421 had about 1800 parts I think! Would be good if the new one is as complex as that or the 8265, we want another gears monster to play with :)
  6. Hopefully mine will arrive on Thursday (tomorrow) so I'll post any info on here. It's odd that the UK catalogue doesn't mention anything, other than the logo. I assume we will be able to add full remote control to it, that would be cool!
  7. Not sure why anyone would hate it if they're into Lego, its the ultimate theme! I am 31 years old now, but when I was young I absolutely loved the Town, Space and Train (the electric supplied ones with track switching, working traffic lights, level crossings, it was epic!) but my heart and real desire was always with the Technic stuff. It was just super grown up and you could buy awesome trucks and cars and diggers/loaders etc. Now I am old(er) I am really just into Technic stuff, so I guess its the same for me the other way around, but I don't hate the other themes, I am just not into them. I guess some younger builders simply don't like Technic Lego, but they might love the Bionicle stuff, which I don't understand as it doesn't even have proper bricks!! ha ha! Lego Star Wars will always be awesome though :) :) :)
  8. I'll take photos tonight and share them up :)
  9. The new 2010 catalogue, mine came through the post today. It has four pages for Technic (a first for years!) and next to the Race Truck is a Power Functions logo..
  10. 8041 in the new catalogue has a Power Functions logo next to it, but there is no mention of it in the description. I assume it's a printing error, unless the manual has something about it. I'll find out in a day or so and let you know here if there is anything about it.
  11. I've just finished building the 8265 model and it really is a lovely Technic set. I can't believe how many gears are in it, its mad! It's very complex and was a joy to build. Like others have said, the lifting really needs motorization so I'll pick up the motor kit at some point to get the most out of the model. One slight downer was part my fault, part instructions, where I accidentally put in two black pieces instead of using grey ones. They were far deep into the model and it would have required a massive rebuild to fix, so I have left them there (I noticed this morning when building the cockpit, so was right at the end of construction). You can't really tell as they are two tiny two-hole parts, but its slightly annoying. I guess I should have checked the colours more carefully, but as there were black pieces in the original step too I assumed they were the correct ones to use. Lego really need to sort out their colour printing issues in the manuals, as its very hard to tell the difference between black and grey. Other than that, the manual was excellent as always. I really love this model, and I hope that the 2010 Offroad Crane is just as complex to build! :)
  12. Great price, £45 over here in England. Will order one later on :D I'll do a review if it hasn't been done by the time mine arrives :) Ordered along with the new Log Loader. I also bought the 8265 Front Loader today as it was reduced to
  13. Are you pleased with this model Blakbird? It does look kinda lightweight (the lift arm looks fragile) but it's great to have pneumatics return..
  14. UK prices for the remaining models are now released: Helicopter: £13.99 Mini Tele Handler: £8.99 These prices, along with the others (esp the Forest Tractor, I was expecting £59.99) are much better than last year where we got totally overcharged for the models. I would have loved the Crane Truck, but at £130.00 ($200) it was rather expensive.. I am going for the Compact Excavator and the Tractor with Log Loader, the buggy looks a little disappointing after seeing photos of it..
  15. Thanks for the photos, the Forest Tractor and Excavator look really good. Has anyone seen them for sale in England yet?
  16. UK prices seem decent. £45 for the Forest Tractor £20 for the Mini Excavator £25 for the Buggy No sign of that Racing Truck yet...
  17. New 8041 Racing Truck image. Looks AWESOME! Link: http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/Shop06/P...000-xx-14-1.jpg (it's a big pic so I didn't add it into the thread) Would be ace if there were official instructions on how to add full IR control to it :) Otherwise, a MOC mod would be great!
  18. Will this truck be available from next month? I've not seen any of the 2010 sets for sale yet (England), I was kinda hoping to get hold of this one very soon!
  19. I love all of those! That mobile crane looks awesome, and I assume PF will be an easy option to fully motorize the arm/boom etc. The excavator is sublime! I guess we have many months to wait before we get to see more photos of them :( If these images all came from scans, maybe we will get some better quality shots in a day or so? Also, as they have page numbers next to them, can we assume there will be more photos and details on those pages?
  20. I like it, although it looks like a Racers model more than a Technic model. Nice though :)
  21. Nice, looks great :) I wonder if these are available in the UK yet, has anyone seen them?
