  1. You are one step ahead of me! I just visited to let you all know that was the case. It's great news for me as I ordered two last week with a couple of other sets. Set me back about $200 for shipping! The box arrived with UPS and they called me about it. I emailed Amazon italy and they said to refuse delivery. Was sad not to get the Imperial shuttles but couldn't accept a damaged box Now I am so glad it worked out like that. 50 euros for two Imperial shuttles shipped is better than 125 any day!
  2. Please don't mention my name to your wife. She is definitely not going to like this
  3. Too late to cancel I suppose?
  4. U7K4X3B or X3X8W7N (for VISA card users) They only work on the really new sets. Search for newest Lego and then scroll through till you find the ones in stock. Hopefully it still works for you.
  5. I ordered the Ninjago Ship and the Dino HQ from B&N with a 20% coupon. Their shipping was hard to resist. I also got two imperial shuttles and two medieval market village from Amazon.it, tried to save a bit on shipping. Also series 6 minifigures... Feels good confessing all this LOL!
  6. Diagon Alley is tempting me (again). I have just ordered a bit from Amazon.it and also Barnes and Noble. Diagon Alley would well and truly take me over $1000 for the last few weeks. Does anyone know how thoroughly the government enforces the GST when you order over $1000 but in separate packages? Are you safe if it's spread over a few different locations or do they really keep an eye on you? Cheers Inger
  7. Boxes of Series 6 Minifigures are back in stock at Amazon France. They are EUR 115 shipped express to Australia which is about $140 total Is it me or is this the best series so far? I think the Genie, Sleepyhead and the Roman Soldier are favourites. Thanks for that - Please let us know if they change their mind about shipping to Oz!!! I want to add it to my (in the mail) Imperial Shuttle
  8. Oh well it was worth a try. I have ordered from them before, but never a preorder. Thanks for the feedback guys-it's great to have this community experience, even if it is bad news :-) Cheers
  9. Does anyone have experience Pre-ordering from Barnes and Noble? I noticed they have the Lord Of the Rings and Marvel Super Heroes sets up for preorder now and: a)They actually ship overseas and b)The shipping is very reasonable I ordered 8 of the upcoming sets including Helms Deep and the Quinjet (the two largest from each theme) and the total shipping was $57 for Priority shipping. You also get 10% off the expected RRP. Apparently they don't charge credit cards until shipping so if the order falls through then no loss but if it comes through I will be happy! Still it would be nice to know sooner rather than later if they have a habit of cancelling Preorders from overseas. Cheers Inger
  10. Hey Splat no apologies necessary Thanks for the great information!
  11. I think the import duty is only on Amazon.it so far. Yeah the shipping has gone up as they have removed the "fast" option, so now you can only get it super fast. It's really not an issue if you buy a number of sets as it doen't go up that much with each set, regardless of the size. I bought 3 Hogwarts castles and two Friends sets the other day and was charged 45 EUR for super-fast postage which is really cheap for the service they provide and the weight of the sets.
  12. New Star Wars up for pre-order on Amazon France: x-wing Droid Escape Endor Battle Pack Arc Trooper Battle Pack Geonosian Cannon Tie Fighter The Dino theme is also available. Actually it took me a while to find this link to the New Lego sets in the store (and not all are new) but it has the new Ninjago, Friends, City and more.
  13. Merry Christmas Everybody! Hope you all had a Lego filled day My son bought me the Creator lighthouse while I bought him the Creator Hillside house. Throw in Diagon Alley for the family-present and I had a great day, thanks in part to Amazon France Cheers
  14. It could also be that they have lost faith in DHL as a shipper to overseas countries like Australia. I would expect a large online company like Amazon to stop using a shipper if they receive many complaints and requests for refunds when their packages arrive in terrible condition (as many of us here on the board have experienced with DHL). Just another way to spin the changes...
  15. They have made some changes at Amazon France, as has been reported elsewhere. So from what I can see you can only order Lego and have it shipped using the "Flash" option, rather than the "Rapid" option. I put the big Hogwarts Castle in my cart and it cost EUR 29 to ship. I then put a total of 3 Hogwarts sets in and it cost EUR 45 to ship to me by the superfast method which usually takes about 5 days from France. I'm not panicing yet In many cases it is still cheaper than buying locally and if you buy more than one, shipping becomes almost a non-issue. Anyone else have a different experience? Cheers
  16. LOL Now that would be something!
  17. I'm guessing it will come back. It has been up and down over the last few months and hasn't sold out from Lego.com yet. Prices fluctuate on Amazon France so often-they are all over the place sometimes from day to day.
  18. I'm sure everyone is very interested in this but just for one brief moment yesterday the Red Technic Car was #1 on the bestseller list, then it went back to the Naboo set. I really need to get out more....
  19. Hey if you use Googel Chrome browser it can translate automatically to your chosen language. It makes ordering much easier.
  20. I kept it pretty small this time - 3 landspeeders and the creator lighthouse I have too much Lego incoming already but the landspeeders were just such a good price for those minifigures. Having said that, there are still a few hours in the sale left for me to change my mind (she says while flicking over to the Amazon.fr Star Wars Lego section).
  21. Details of the offer are here and it is only valid till December 9th, so not alot of time... Apparently (from what I could understand of the Google translation) if you order 50 EUR of certain Lego sets you get an additional 15 % off I was going to add a list of the Lego sets included in the deal but it looks like the vast majority are included. Time to increase my credit card limit...
  22. The Emporium is down again to EUR 115 before VAT is removed (EUR 96 after VAT removed or AUS $125). Must...resist....
  23. I wonder why the Battle of Naboo is always the bestselling Lego set on Amazon France? I mean, its a great little set but... It just seems strange that it is always at the top.
  24. The Harry Potter Diagon Alley is at EUR 114 before taking off VAT (or 95 EUR after VAT) It's a great set! Mindstorms is also back down to $219 at Amazon.com. Not quite as good as last week's $209 but still alot less than local.
  25. Maybe we've all just bought too much :-) Yes when you try to check out with 7965 it does say in their "More information" section that they ship toys only to certain countries - Australia isn't one of them. Has anyone else tried to to order something in the last day or so? I wonder if they are slowly working through all the sets to block them from shipping here or this is just a random thing.
