  1. Not necessarily true. The entire crux of the "Vahi theory" for many people (myself included) is that it's mainly to be left to the individual's interpretation. The ambiguity is an important part of it. I believe in the universe connection myself, and I don't really entertain the notion that Lego will make some huge spectacle out of it. That's one of the main reasons why I think debating it and bringing it up over and over has little merit.
  2. I think the judging system was the best option for a contest with this broad of a scope. I understand the desire for community integration, but given that this was a Lego-sponsored contest I think that it was fair to have them pick the winning build. With that being said, my thoughts on the final outcome can pretty much be summed up by DV's earlier post.
  3. Well, the early winter leaks really had nothing to do with the amount anyone searched for images. It was a third party who had exclusive access to things releasing the info to the public. I've been searching just as hard as before in terms of finding pictures on shop sites, and no dice. I would absolutely love a year where there were no leaks at all. I want to recapture that feeling I had when I was younger where I just walk into a store and see the new sets for the first time, instead of months upon months of hyper-analysis. Alas, I don't think I would ever have the self control to stay away from the internet for so long.
  4. You'd be surprised. Last year, we didn't get leaked pictures until the 26th of January. Retailer catalog pictures did leak before then, but HF wasn't photographed much. :/
  5. London Toy Fair begins on January 20th, but photography is prohibited there and the people that are able to frequent the event don't tend to care a lot about constraction. At the very least, we'll get finalized names and prices. Nuremberg Toy Fair begins on January 28th, and we do typically receive a good amount of coverage from this event. If history repeats itself, we'll see the sets here. New York Toy Fair begins on February 14th. We're guaranteed extensive coverage of every theme here, so we'll see the sets from plenty of new angles.
  6. Look on the bright side guys, it could be worse. *shudders*
  7. Some remarks about feet: I've never been that big of a fan of the Piraka foot piece, but I always appreciate recolors of old BIONICLE pieces. I greatly appreciated seeing the piece in brown on Ogrum (that set was excellent), but it irritates me to no end to see it appear so often in the color black. The 2.0 foot piece has overstayed its welcome by about two years and I would love nothing more than for it to be retired and/or reduced in its usage.
  8. Yeah... I long for the day that we'll see another "vehicle" set that isn't a motorcycle. (I don't count Jet Rocka)
  9. RIP in Peace Drop Ship
  10. There's zero chance of that. Brickfair isn't a Toy Fair, unfortunately; the earliest we'll see the sets is probably the Nuremberg Toy Fair on January 28th.
  11. It's a prototype piece that some people were able to acquire. :)
  12. Prophecy of Heroes is best episode.
  13. Yeah, I'm with TheDesuComplex on this. I think the differences can simply be written off as stylstic changes for the sake of the animation style. The new piston piece isn't exactly represented 100% accurately either. (and i will laugh myself crazy thank you very much) :P EDIT: Oh, and also, I firmly believe Ekimu uses trans-light blue because Lego refuses to make medium azure shells
  14. The added gear function will likely push Ekimu up to the worth of a $15 set, making the final set $35. Also, not to crush any dreams, but I'm 99.99% sure that it's just medium azure (or dark azure, whichever) and not actual teal. Also, the shoulder armor is likely just the 2014 Chima Ultrabuild armor piece. :P
  15. I'm okay with a Bring Back HF movement. I'd love for it to run concurrently with BIONICLE and be a minifigure-based constraction mech theme. I can dream. ;__;
  16. None of the above; his tails are lime green.
  17. That picture brought back HF nostalgia. Hero Factory whyyy ;__;
  18. In the interest of being fair to both sides, their different mask powers is certainly a pretty damning hole in the theory that I can't personally think of an explanation for. The change in personalities isn't really an issue, as it can be explained pretty simply by their amnesia affecting their personalities. The mask thing, though... I've got nothing.
  19. I think arguing about it, at this juncture, is a waste of time and energy. While I personally do believe the theory of a generational connection through the Vahi, I think Lego's intent is to leave it open-ended; as such, those looking for direct confirmation probably aren't going to get it until the end of the line when the Toa will possibly return to their timeline, if ever. I will say that, taken on their own, a lot of the references can simply be passed off as mere easter eggs to the old continuity. Taken as a collective mass, however, I cannot think of a reason why Lego would be focusing so heavily on time, of all things, if they were not trying to strongly imply time travel. While concrete proof is most definitely scarce, I do not believe there is enough evidence to write off the possibility completely. In the end, I think the intent is to leave it open to interpretation. So the continued debate isn't doing anyone any favors. :P
  20. Hooray, Mask of Time's existence is finally confirmed. We can finally put THAT particular piece of debate to rest.
  21. Interesting... personally, I do believe you. Thank you very much for sharing! :D
  22. I don't mean to cast doubt upon your claims, but could you give us some insight onto how you obtained this information and/or a source for it? :D
  23. Pretty much this. The belief in the "Vahi theory" stems from the fact that they're hinting so strongly towards the Vahi having something to do with new BIONICLE; the Vahi's appearances thus far haven't been the actual Vahi. They've merely been easter eggs that have hinted towards the Vahi's relevancy. The actual Vahi isn't buried inside a rock, or hidden inside a lava pool, for instance. It's done how it is so the fans can recognize and comment on it.
  24. Pretty much this. The whole "Masters are really G1 Toa" falls apart if you assume that means we will visit the old universe again. We never will; that ship has sailed. Just because there's a possible link between the two universes does not negate the fact that BIONICLE 2015 is a reboot; the Vahi theory would only serve to connect the two universes, not to force a hardcore continuation onto everyone. Heck, Lego may never even confirm this one way or another. They may leave it open-ended and let the fans draw their own conclusions about where the Toa are from.
