The piece that connects the large torso armor to the sides of Stormer XL's legs, while still allowing for a smaller piece of armor to be connected to the other sides via traditional means.
-
Voltix has no new bone piece; in this picture, you can clearly see how his arms are constructed. While the TV show variant is different, the TV show usually takes artistic liberties with set designs in order to "neaten them up" persay. I disagree with the way Voltix's arms are designed, I think they look cluttered, and I would prefer the version depicted in the TV show. But that's not what we're getting unless they radically alter his arm design. Regarding XT4, he doesn't have any new bone pieces either. He simply uses a standard "upper-arm/leg" bone piece with a size 5 armor piece attached to the side. He does, however, appear to have a new piece that makes up his central torso design. But who can really say?

Wow, I have to say, I love Speeda Demon. Though, it's not what I expected. It's basically a 2.0-styled Furno Bike. And coming from someone that didn't entirely like the Furno Bike, it's a little bit of a letdown. However, the set looks good. The pieces look amazing (if I'm counting right, 20 golden spikes - the same type as in Witch Doctor), one of Stormer XL's crystaline armor piece in purple, as well as one Skrall/Vorox armor piece in purple. Lime BP head, gold Waspix blades in a HF set, etc. Very good variety of pieces. The color scheme is a bit jarring at first, as I already stated, but I actually have begun to enjoy it. It's unique. And the set looks well-built in general. The rest of the sets, nothing really new. Core Hunter looks amazingly well done, Nex looks marginally better, Bulk's armor now looks orange instead of trans-orange, sadly. Stringer looks excellent, XT4 looks very unique, Voltix is really the only set that looks lackluster to me. The purple is wonderful, obviously, but the colors (yellow, purple, black, red, and gunmetal) is too cluttered for my tastes. But I still have hope! Haven't given up on Voltix yet. Stormer XL looks good, but not worth the $25 price tag to me. Just as I figured. Still going to wait on him sa well before making my final decision. The wave looks nice, I gotta say. Looking forward to Toy Fair even more now!

Looks to me that in the TV show, his torso plate is colored in a color commonly referred to as "Metru blue", or Earth Blue properly. I'm hoping this is the case.
-
Perhaps I'm just being absent-minded, but to me it looks as if the color blue seen in Captain America and Batman is the same as Surge's; plain "Mata blue" persay.
-
Bulk's will be silver, but whether Nex's chestplate will be white? It likely will be, sadly enough. Seems like all the $8.99 hero sets have more of their secondary color than their primary color. Evo had a great deal of gunmetal compared to yellow, Surge had a great deal of lime compared to blue, it's looking like Stringer, while not necessarily having more, persay, will have a great deal of blue, and Nex will likely have quite a few white pieces intermixed with his orange. Too many, IMO. I liked Nex 2.0's color scheme, with orange being the primary and a litle bit of white and green intermixed, but this is just going overboard. Not that I'm complaining about getting a white armor piece, but I just wish i wasn't on Nex.

Hah, don't thank me, thank the Lego Club I completely forgot to even notify you guys about the new pictures. How... interesting of me. I got them from here, a high definition (and slightly modified) Rocka vs. Black Phantom video.

Nah, as I said, the gallery's up and running in a sub-folder over here. Decided to re-structure things.
-
Yeah, my theory is they had to make a version of Stormer that would work with the other heroes in the movie, but they'll have him upgrade to "XL" edition ala Rocka at one point or another. Interesting, considering Rocka had both an XL version and a regular version, whereas Stormer did not.

Well, I recall with Savage Planet, it took several days, but we eventually got the preliminary poster shot from the catalogue which showed off the sets in better quality. Doesn't appear we're getting that this time, however, though we still may. I'm making the rounds on the online shopping sites like always this time of year (mainly looking for any trace of Speeda Demon), so if we DO get any new pictures I'll let everybody know. Only a little over a month till Toy Fair now, though it seems like much more. Also regarding your comment on the electric guitar; I never even thought of it like that. I just assumed he had a massive, two-handed gun. That's awesome. One more reason to like the Stringer set for this year.

Hah, apologies. I was moving some of the pictures in my gallery around, creating a seperate folder for the summer line called "Breakout Part 2". Didn't realize you had linked to the picture while that was going on. It was just the same one we've already seen, however. They'll be back up momentarily. EDIT: Gallery's back up over here. Much more concise this way.

If the game wasn't so horrendously glitchy, I would enjoy playing it, despite the bad camera and simplistic gameplay. The fact you can completely modify and upgrade the existing heroes to create your own custom variants and play as them is a great feature, and the amount of upgrades and to the extent of which the customizability is explored is refreshing. But I can't give the game a pass when it doesn't work. =/ I sincerely hope in a week or so, they take all the feedback into consideration and patch the game, but I doubt that heavily.

Attempted to play the game again, and I daresay, it has more errors and glitches than my first attempt yesterday. Where to begin? Saving doesn't work for me on both Firefox and Chrome, despite the error message disappearing that claims I'm not logged into my Lego ID. So right off the bat, broken functionality that they masked by taking away the error message, without fixing the actual problem. Secondly: the game seems to "lock up" in certain areas, not recognizing that I;m actually in the game. For instance, at one point, in the Mission Select screen, after selecting my mission, it cut away to the Hero's back and stayed there, not progressing beyond that. Nothing you can do, either, except reload the page and, guess what, start from scratch. Another instance is where, in the first mission, you're prompted to upgrade your gun in order to progress. After you do that, and go back to the wall, the game does not recognize Rocka as being there, and as such, doesn't let you blast down the wall. Another problem is the camera. It's horrible. At one point, when you're introduced to "Secret Items" and you're prompted to pick up the hamburger on the first level, the camera goes haywire, flying all around the screen and trapping you, as every time the camera switches position you have to press a different arrow key to move, making it impossible to progress. At one point, after playing through the intro sequence for the fifth time, on the loading screen, the entire screen turned a sickly shade of brown, and when the actual game came up, it was distorted and brown splotches covered the screen. It was at that point that I gave up trying. They shouldn't have released the game at this point; far too many errors making it unplayable. If they'd just delayed its release long enough to fix these problems, the game would be decent. But as it stands, it's trash.

, , , , , and to Kahinuva's Breakout "Let's Play" have been uploaded to youtube. He didn't even bother with Surge due to being so tired of playing the game by that point, but he did the missions for Rocka, Furno, Evo, and Breez. Very entertaining.Oh, and some hilarious stuff happens in Part 3, let me tell you.

Breakout playthrough by a friend of mine over for those of us having... difficulty playing the actual game. More parts incoming.
-
Well, never mind. Cheers to Aanchir for saving the day. Liking the new website less and less even still, however, now that it's apparent that they removed several unique features such as the Call Ticker. =/

For those (likely few) people that have attempted to play the Breakout game a significant level, has anyone else ran into a rather large bug directly after Rocka learns about the upgrading process and upgrades his gun to level 2 where the game's controls lock up and he can't shoot through the wall? I'm curious to see if there are others, or if its a problem exclusive to myself.
-
Just a heads up: The Breakout game's available to be played over here. All I'm going to say is this. The graphics are horrible, the control scheme is awkward, and the camera is one of the worst I've seen in a game, HOWEVER. The amount of content that they packed into it was a bit shocking. I didn't expect every level to contain secrets and collectibles, not to mention a fully functional upgrade and ranking system. Seems like something I could invest some time into. 'Cept it still looks like they're working on some bugs; game doesn't save yet, even if you're signed in with your Lego ID. Oh well.

Just an FYI: Nether the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, or Harley Quinn are even featured in the actual comic. Mr. Freeze and Harley Quinn are on the cover, though, as previously stated.

Ever since it came out, I doubted that it would continue for much longer. But after hearing about how well it sold, I have no doubt it will continue for years to come. I can't see this ending something that has become immensely popular unless it stops selling well. Of course, I'm neglecting to remember what happened to BIONICLE, so I suppose anything's possible.

I asked him a while back if there was a "Speeda Demon" set in the catalog at all, and he responded saying he showed all the sets pictured. However, several other themes, such as Monster Fighters, Ninjago, etc, were not showed fully in their respective videos, so perhapss he had an out-dated catalog? Not sure.
-
Pardon me if this has already been brought to attention, but you all realize that the prizes on that site are steeplymarked up compared to what they will actually be sold for in most places? That website charges a significant bit more for sets, similarly to TRU, and as such, any prices shown there should not be worried about.
-
According to this website, we now have piece counts for the summer 2012 sets. Nex: 39 pieces XT4: 39 pieces Stringer: 42 pieces Voltix: 61 pieces Bulk: 61 pieces Core Hunter: 51 pieces Stormer XL: 89 pieces (85 pieces LESS than Rocka XL) Speeda Demon: 192 pieces (143 LESS than Witch Doctor) Keep in mind that Stormer and Speeda will be (presumably) sold for the same price as their respective counterparts from last year. I'm very disheartened by the amount of pieces in Stormer XL; it's a worse deal than Scorpio, who I thought deserved a $20 price tag. I'm a bit more forgiving of Speeda Demon because he still has a sizable amount of pieces to justify a $30 price tag, though only 18 more than Rocka XL. Still, I could rant about the amount of parts all I want, but this could all change come Toy Fair, so I'm going to calm down.
-
The site's prices are marked up. Judging by the price they sell items for, he's the same price as Witch Doctor. Stormer XL is the same price as Rocka XL, so he's only $5 more expensive. Likely a Witch Doctor style build, though I guess it's possible for him to be a vehicle.

From what I've seen, the site has markups on all of its sets, similar to Toysrus. So no, those won't be the actual prices for those sets. Just the prices for the sets on that site.
