  1. I really hope that 2.0 fixes those bugs.... Bugs that I know about: 1*1plate with cliplight brick, is Wrong dimensions compared to real one. (the 'ring' portion is too low) 1*4tiles have their 'snap' connections in the wrong location, approximatly 1plate Below the bottom of the brick technic bricks in generally do not snap correctly to anything lastly, it would be nice to have a precision brick placement tool, pageup and pagedown lets you move a brick 1 plate at a time vertically, but some horizontal motion controls would be nice too (sometimes you need more accuracy than your wobbly mouse) Of Course I've emailed them about this stuff... but theres no guarantee anyone listens to just me... Anyone else care to remind them of all the bugs to get before 2.0 gets shoved out the door? Last Chance to get your inputs in, because once that gets released.. they certainly won't update for quite some time.
  2. Called my local Lego Store SantaClara CA, USA They said it should be there Tuesday.
  3. Hmmh, good point. With all the other nice stuff coming out, this is probably near the bottom of my list. I notice from this year as well, that I tend to buy Creator stuff only after I've gotten all the themed items I wanted... They're like fresh parts packs, for when I get bored with everything else...
  4. Oh noes... you've made me realize a big flaw in my plans! a lot ot my stuff is Space too... and helmet-hair is not going to work that well... I guess I could go with 'casual space', no helmets or airtanks...but that doesnt work so great unless its a SHIP with airlocks... fighter pilots would still want suits..
  5. So far I've been getting all my bulk parts at PaB in Lego Shops. Best price you can ever get probably, but you have to be patient since good stuff doesn't show up every day. If I see something good on that day, I'll just hoarde a whole bunch of it; even if I dont have a specific use in mind yet. (its just nice knowing that I'll never run out of this rare part if I ever need one...) So far both shops I visit have Always had the 4*6 train roof covers. It must be a standard PaB item or something; I figure that for making a SHIP, those would would be great hull panels...
  6. Wait a sec... Looking at the pic of the controller, I see two levers on top, and what looks like a channel selector switch. So, it controls only 2 motors? How does the Bulldozer model work then? with 2 motors for the tracks, 1 for the blade, and (maybe) 1 for the tooth in back?? Do you get 2 controllers? (im afraid they might 'cheat' and use the channel selector so that you only do one function at a time)
  7. Just wondering, given the lack of female minifigs as of late; if any of you have transvested your excess male population? You know, taking the gender neutral oldstyle smilies, and adding some female hairpieces. I was considering it, since I have a few hairpices from a minifig accessory bag I bought a while back... but it seemed... kind of wierd, changing minifigs' genders... 8-
  8. *looks closer* Are those the new Car Mudguards being used as the rounded window trims on the top floor?? And I thought those things were only good for Spaceship engine nozzles....
  9. Right, but theoretically, there can be no 45degree diagonal walls on a brick grid, that are an integral brick length. example, suppose the diagonal was crossing a 4*4stud area of floor, the diagonal length is... Root32, or 5.658studs long -obviously we cannot build a wall this length to fit in the diagonal space... 5*5 gives 7.07studs diagonal 6*6 gives 8.48studs ...there just arent any possible ways to make that diagonal wall fit just right between two normal walls, so if they are using hinges, then they are probably under stress... which is what i'm wondering, is there a magic triangle which is officialy 'close enough' to be inside of the plastic tolerances, or is there a special part that offsets the difference?
  10. Righto, so now that you can see the pics... can someone tell me what's going on at the 'corner' of the building? where the wall is at a 45degree angle. How was that achieved? As far as I know... there are No 45*isocoles triangles who have integral(brickunit) sides as well as integral diagonal. So either a special purpose part is used to attach the wall... or some 'almost triangle' relationship that uses the error tolerance of the bricks. Townbuilding experts, know the technique?
  11. Nice, its using the new windshield. Now, these promos; how do they work? offered through specific airport shops? or airlines? I don't travel much.. but here in the USA I have Never seen any airport shops selling legos... so where do they usually appear?
  12. I think what he probably means is, that on LDD it is very common for the 'best models' gallery to consists of Gigantic detailed houses that people have made; but due to the pitfalls of designing on computer with no brick limits, are incredibly innffecient in terms of brick use (a billion darkred 1*2 plates???) and tend to cost far far too much for anyone even their creator to purchase. and that this Cafe Corner, looks pretty much the same in terms of detail and expense. Now, this one being a production model, of course will be much reduced in price compared to a typical LDD model. as well as having a better brick pallete available. But it does really 'feel' like those digital models...
  13. Well, in that case the pic in question is probably a prototype like suggested before; and they don't want anyone getting wrong expectations when the real one is smaller. So it doesn't really relate to the EF situation. *shrug* most of the stuff you mentioned was at ToyFair, so in a way thats already released even tho not a catalog. That might also be the reason its different. i guess the policy is for EB to remove pics when requested, and they just didnt request for any of those other ones. at any rate... all we can do is speculate since none of us works for TLG mhkay?
  14. Well, I think it would be nice to understand the motivations before I or someone else gets the idea to mirror the pics someplace else. Right now I have a neutral stance on the matter, but if it's somehow doing some significant harm the I'd like to know first....
  15. So, if rather than comply with taking down the pics; we leave them up, and spread them around. Then for the sake of reputation they'd be forced to improve the real one, rather than go the path of so many good prototypes of the past? I'm not seeing a good motivation here for why we bother taking down 'leaks' in that case.... so going back to my above question, why?
  16. I was wondering the same... Maybe its a small rural town and they use FirePolice instead of separate services?
  17. Well, it looks very nice (before pics were taken down) I thought I saw... 2 women minifigs and one grey haired spielburg? I wonder if its just those 3 or if more might be hidden from view.... probly not Nice to see a set where the women outnumber the men for once. Not sure I'd buy it though, because I don't buy UCS display models, and this strikes me as the City equivilant to that sort of thing. -a beautiful ultra detailed model that you'd never want to take apart (at least no city I'd build with the parts would be a match for the original) -but whats the point of having one if you never take it apart?... ohwell, I have issues with UCS quality sets...
  18. Just wondering, Why do we bother taking things down just because they say so? I remember on BZPower (back when i was silly enough to be on that forum) that the reason they always agreed to take down 'early' pics was because they had a TLG employee (gregf) on the forum, and if they didnt agree he would threaten to stop giving them hints about future bionicle story stuff. as near as I know, here on eurobricks we don't have any special arrangement like that... so why? P.S. did everyone remember to save those pics to your brickshelf?
  19. By 'malfunction' do we really mean that their adaptive-programming evolved to the point that they gained conciousness and realize that they were slaves? ...the story is essentially told from the Humans' side... but if we actually look at the background situation (without the character stuff), that explanation makes sense...
  20. Lots of ebay descriptions like to call a set 'mint' even if it's an opened box. They don't litereally mean that its 'mint', the mean that the 'condition' is mint. Condition meaning the bricks are clean and not worn out... Yeah, I think its kinda sneaky and splitting hairs when they describe stuff like that, but ohwell...
  21. See those piston cylinder things on the back of his ankles? can someone tell me how those work? Is that a normal technic rod that goes into them? do they have friction? like maybe they could be used as a support for a robot arm? or do they slide easily?
  22. *shrug* I can see giving away old junk in the attic that belonged to a deceased person. (to goodwill charity or something) So selling off on ebay isnt that far off. the real question is Do you want to buy Haunted Legos?? 8-
  23. Not if its designed to make money.
  24. well... a crossroads *almost* looks like a Space landing pad You'll just have to build up some kind of walled structure around the outer edges to cut off the road areas.
  25. a Collector's Guide?? now why do we need something like that? When we can just look at Brickset, Peeron, Lugnet, or the TLC website if see a list of the sets that exist?
