I say yes for the King's Castle - big, good number of figs.
But I also say yes for the Skeleton Tower - it's considerably cheaper, has a different dragon and the same barding as in the King's Castle, and is the only set with the Princess and the Wizard [apart from the chess sets].
I started a Colonial One a while back, there are WIP pictures on my Brickshelf Here, ignore the off colors and Viking at the controls, but I quit the project due to lack of parts. What I got done [back, base of ship] might give you some ideas though.
All I plan on getting is Castle and Pirates.
Next year with Pirates, villagers, and a positive carpload of telescopes and medieval buildings will prove very useful for Brickenshoal...
I am quite jealous - my sister would never let me borrow money to get more Lego.
Although I can't handle the awesomeness - it's overloading my body, I looked into the Awesome Lego, nobody's meant to do that...
I'M REGENERATING!!!
Wouldn't this be legally wonky, due to action figures and such? But if not, allow me to put in my two bits -
Indiana Jones Battlepack
Includes 4 Indiana Joneses and a 30's car.
I like to think of him as the old fart. Speaking of farts, cheese-cutting wench? I'm happy with the chicken, rooster, and duck - it works great for me, they're nice parts, and it's more versatile than a new mold.
Your wallet will like 2009 just as much as you will - carploads of expensive Lego is the ultimate diet for wallets!
The waterwheel part looks to be new - it seems that there's also a bunch of them in the farm combine coming out next year. All the tubes are telescopes from next year's Pirates, too. The arches are vehicle fenders, yes. And the only other place I've seen the plumes are in Pirates next year, as flames, so I don't know what they are supposed to be.
If you've seen the new Pirates pics, you'll know that that's what they're for. I'm glad that we get so many in this set.
Yay, jedikermit agrees with me!
Just took another look at those fish, they appear to be pearl grey/silver. Lightsaber hilts, anyone?
And I also forsee a reawakening of the Whacking trend when the fish become available.
Green lightning!
I think we're seeing a bit change in Lego, I mean we've got four female figs next year by the looks of it [Orc Queen, Queen, two maidens in Medieval Market].
Oooh you beat me to it
But squeeeeeee!!!!!!! It's like Green Grocer for the castle crowd!
And it looks like the buildings can be left open of closed, so that's good :)
Agent trace hair! Two girls! One's completely new [looks like a rogue]
A cow!
8 figs!
A little punk!
A beggar!
A whole turkey!
Won't be buying anything else thise year, gotta save up!
Ooooh, very nice. I'm a fan. Looks quite accurate, too :) Although, is there an interior?
And don't make a microscale Galactica, go the whole way! Fig-scale Galactica FTW!
