Lego Ninjago 2016
The Brick King replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Question: after a year or two of being not interested in Ninjago, I am back in the theme, and I had a question. What is the storyline for this summer's sets? I've looked and I can't find anything anywhere. -
Yeah, I can pretty much guess that not many of these sets actually happened, except for the Airport Battle. Lego hasn't been known to make very movie accurate sets in Superheroes lines. *Cough* The entire Iron Man 3 wave *Cough* On a slightly unrelated note, the movie good? I'm seeing it anyway if it isnt , but is the movie a solid MCU movie?

REVIEW: 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1
The Brick King replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Man, this review is great. Now, all of your reviews are great, but still... If I had money, I'd definitely get the whole box set off of Shop@Home. And if I had more money, and the Cinderella Castle is real, I would by that too, because the mental image of Mr Incredible and Syndrome battling it out on one of the spires of the castle is awesome. But I don't have money. So I'll probably only be able to pick up a couple of these. -
Gen 1 Figures: Is it worth it to buy them?
The Brick King replied to Anthony12901's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I say that if you know which set you want and spend some time (and money) on the bricklink and eBay prices, than yes, the Gen1 sets ARE totally worth it. I am a relatively new Bionicle fan, and a couple of weeks ago, I caved and bought an Inika Nuparu and Ahkmou from bricklink, my first Gen1 Bionicle sets, and I was not disappointed. I guess its really a matter of what appeals to you. If something looks cool to you, get it. Now. -
If you prefer yellow people, I've seen Giganta built with the Cavewoman's torso and legs from Collectable Minifigures Series 5.

That Cloak and Dagger are great! But, to my knowledge, that face is purist, unless you erased Rhodey's cheekbones.

Holy $&(@!!! That is amazing! All the different sections...I can't wrap my mind around it! And how you've crammed stuff from the comics, the novels...amazing! FANTASTIC!!! Allons-y! Geronimo!

Thanks for explaining.

Also, could you tell me what a 'clone set' is?
-
Wow. Thanks. I'll have to make a 'to buy' list, apparently. For my first sets, I was looking at a deal with Pohatu and Tahu.

So, I have recently discovered the magic of Bionicle Gen1, and I've been wanting to get some of the Gen1 sets on Bricklink. So, I need some advice. Which characters are the best to enter the world of Mata Nui? Someone already suggested the Toa Mata or Metru. But I would like some input. The Brick King

Thanks. I guess I will start a new topic. And yeah, I was looking at a Mata or a Metru. Thanks for your input!

I hope that this is the right place to ask this question, but I have recently been exposed to the wonder of Bioicle Gen1, and was hoping to get some of the old sets off Bricklink, and I was wondering, who I should I buy first? A Mata, a Nuva, a Metru, something completely different...any input?

Touché.

I actually think the head on the Nexo Knights soldier is better...it was used a couple pages back.

Holy crap, man! This is awesome! I love all the little details you've packed in, especially Jack meeting Tonto.

Vader is absolutely adorable. I love the Chibi-esque aspect of these.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
The Brick King replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been watching the reviews for the Civil War sets...man, that Crossbones stinks. I am going to try to get the whole Civil War wave, though, and add whatever (i.e. Brown arms on Falcon, burn Crossbones at the stake...;) ) -

That looks really good! Could you post some instructions so I could try that? -

These are, to qoute the ninth version of a certain Time Lord, FanTAStic! Can't wait to see more! Hmm, can't seem to place which episode The Pit is from. Care to elaborate? -
Got the set for Christmas. It lives up to all my expectations. I won't say much, but I will say that 11 is adorable.

Which is basically the whole cast of the movie (aside from all the extras). LEGO actually did pretty good with the mini figures this time around. Almost all major characters from the movie (except for Snoke) were created. They at least did much better with TFA then with LotR. (Still mad about no Faramir or Eowyn...) After seeing the movie last night, here is my opinion on the sets: -Rey's Speeder: Obviously a bit to big, and there should be a big net instead of tools just stuck to the wall, but pretty good. Mini figure wise, of course Rey should be included, but they should have taken out Unkar's Thug (got about 30 seconds of screen time) and make it easier to get either Finn or BB-8. That would have made it infinitely better. -FO Snowspeeder: I did not see it at all it the movie. Very 'blink and you'll miss it.' from the Hasbro toy, it's a bit too big. Mini figures obviously make since. I think they should have not made this set and just replace it with like a $30 'Rathtar Attack' or something. -FO TIE: Really good. Looks a lo like the real thing. Mini figures make total sense. Any other choices would spoil the entire first part of the movie. -Poe's X-Wing: Pretty good. The blue rubber band is still annoying, though. Again, Poe should be in it, but I think they should have replaced the Resistance Ground Control dude with Finn. Finn seriously should be in a cheaper set. -FO Transporter: Too small, but otherwise very good. I hadn't seen any actual images of the vehicle until last night, and I recognized it thanks to the set. For mini figures, they really should have had more normal Troopers. Phasma makes sense in the context, don't really know what other set she would be in. -Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle: WINGS DON'T TILT!!! And the color is off. Other than that, the shape is pretty good. Again, figures make since. -Millenium Falcon: Again, pretty great. Not much else to say about the actual set other than the mini figures. All make sense. Would have liked to see a little variation on Rey and add a breathing pack or something. There's my two cents.
