Chapter 1 -- Chapter 2 -- Chapter 3 -- Chapter 4 Well, two chapters in one day. You guys got lucky that I'm in a good mood today. This chapter isn't the only action sequence you'll get, don't worry. (Don't understand what's going on? Check out the profiles of the characters here!) Romance? Perchance. Day: July 5 Time: 5:59 PM Michael Leighton's House/400 N. 600 S. "So, as you can see, the spyglass is our only clue, but Neil claims his cousin Kevin has one of the glass pieces," Michael explained to the crowd. "We'll be on our way as soon as we get an answer from James, who's over there talking with Carter." Okay, this guy is really getting on my nerves. thought James, thinking of how Michael's been drawling on and on for four hours straight, not letting anyone talk except an occasional question. Improvise, improvise, James, come on, you're smart. What are you going to do now? he thought. Wait... the RV... James put on his best "I'm Interested" face for Michael and Carter. He'd already been introduced to everyone, and by the looks of it, the only ones he could trust were this Danielle girl and Neil Richard. Okay, I think I may have something here. I hope to God this works... "UNF!" James grabbed Carter, and tried to charge up some eneregy to push him into the crowd. James shoved as hard as he could... "OH GOOOOOOOOOODDD!" Carter squealed as he smacked into Michael. The collision knocked Michael into Ed, and Ed collapsed on Michael's other thugs, Lionel, Conrad, and Malcolm. James figured by the time all six got up and about, they'd be hightailing it out of town... That's what he hoped, anyway. "Danielle! Neil! Get in, quick!" The two jumped inside the RV with James. Danielle was still a bit confused, but she was sure it was for the same reason she thought... That he didn't trust any of the others. Neil jumped into the passenger seat. "What... the... halibut... are you doing, Grady?!" Neil roared. "Improvising!" James shouted. "You're doing a terrible job! He's got guns in his closet, and big strong tough guys for back-up... Not like he's not menacing enough on his own..." said Neil. Danielle stalked off to the table behind the drivers area, and her eyes caught the spyglass. "Oh, boys?" Danielle waved the spyglass at the two bickering men. James looked at Danielle and back at Neil. "She's got the spyglass!" James yelled as he hit the brakes. *SCREEEEEEEEEEECH!* Neil hadn't buckled his seatbelt, and Danielle was't siting at all. The two flew forward, and poor Neil hit his face on the windshield. "Give me the spyglass!" James flew out of his seat and headed straight for Danielle. "Never!" She backed towards the mini-kitchen. "Danielle, hand it over! Now!" "I don't want to!" "Danielle, fork it over! We need that spyglass! We can't afford ou to break it!" "Oh, so now I'm clumsy?" "Obviously! Hand it over!" "Make me." "Hand. It. Over." She leaned closer, till their faces were almost touching. "Make me." "Oh, you two are perfect for each other... two complete idiots arguing over an inanimate object... Yeah, I see how clever you truly are, James. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must make sure I have all my limbs still." "Alright, both arms, both legs. I'm good." "Danielle, this is your last chance before I throw you off a freeway in Colorado. Hand it over." "What's the magic word?" She has to be kidding. James thought. He couldn't tell whether she was flirting with him, or was just trying her best to be annoying. James hadn't said "please" in a long time. But, it usually pays off. "Danielle, may I please have the spyglass back?" "Yes, you may." Thank God that worked. I was about to hit her with a frying pan. "Loco de amor las aves, grupo de idiotas!" --- Thanks for reading. -Striker

This MOC is awesome! Very detailed! By the way, are the capes dark green, or is it just the lighting?

The Treasure of the Lost Mine: Chapter 4
Luke McAwesome replied to Luke McAwesome's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks! Sorry for the wait, Inconspicuous, I just really have trouble thinking of what the angles of the shots should be, where they'll go next, etc. etc. I'll start ripping them out now that the story's been kicked off. -
Chapter 1 -- Chapter 2 -- Chapter 3 Hello... again! I decided to stop being lazy and get something done today, so, enjoy... (Don't understand what's going on? Check out the profiles of the characters here!) The Crew... and an RV? Day: July 5 Time: 1:24 PM A mysterious building... "Hey... Hey, Michael, he's waking up!" *groans* "What happened? I feel like I got hit in the head with a rake," James said as he slowly leaned upward. "It was a shovel," said a red-haired man with sunglasses. "Ooooooooh, I got such a headache..." "Yeah, we're sorry we had to get you here in that fashion, but we needed you immediately. We didn't have time to have you go allllll the way over to Starbricks and then have you come back here two minutes later. We figured we might as well take you quietly..." said the man in the leather jacket. "Yeah, I figured out that much. Who are you?" James asked as he walked over to the man. "My name is Micheal Leighton, I'm the person who called you last night. I had to try to get you to come without any questions, or you could have said no." "What's the big deal if I said no?" "We need you. We can't do this without you." "Do what?" "Come with me," Michael said as he motioned for James to follow. He approached what looked like an empty room. "Please answer me! What do you need me for?" Michale messed around with a few paintings on the wall of the seemingly empty room. About ten seconds later, a secret compartment popped open in the right-hand-top-corner. Michael pulled out a spyglass. "What is that thing?" James asked. "So many questions... so little time... Look, here's the story, this spyglass has been handed down in my family for five generations. This spyglass is what I think may be a clue to finding what we're all looking for." "What are we looking for?" James asked, about ready to grab the man by the shoulders and shake him. "An old miner, by the name of Jerry Dalton, once found a hollow tavern in an old abandoned mine, and he found an entire room full of gold, silver, swords, shields, armor, the list goes on and on. Nobody knows the whereabouts of this mine currently. It's gone. We have reason to believe he left clues to lead future generations to finding his treasure. These clues could be anywhere in the state. Now, when my father gave this to me when I was only 13, I kept it hidden, I made my own secret compartments in my very own bedroom, and made sure nobody could find it except me. It was a game I loved playing. Here, take a look at the spyglass," Michael handed him the old item. "This is really old, at least one hundred years. I'm suprised you haven't sold this yet, you could get quite a fortune for this thing." "I know. But I'm not going to, I'm the only member of my family who has figured out what it means, and how it works... Er, actually, it doesn't work. Look through it." James looked through the spyglass, and could see in his normal vision. The glass at both ends was missing. "Where are the glass pieces?" James asked. "That's what we want to know. We've been looking for months. We can't find anyone, even through the internet, that knows where these pieces are. Rumor has it that the glass parts aren't normal. They have a clue on each piece or something." "Hrm. Well, this has been fun and all, but I have to go send a report to the police for assaul-" James began, but then a man with elvis hair stepped in front of him. "Not so fast, paper boy." "Ed, back up, give him some space," Michael commanded. "Everyone come with me, I want to show Mr. Grady our mode of transportation." As everyone left the house, they walked out to the front yard, only to see... ... an RV. "An RV?" James rolled his eyes and looked at Michael. "An RV." "Mr. Grady, by the way, I don't think I've introduced myself... I'm Carter." the man with the long hair said. He held his hand out. James hesitated for a moment, and then shook it. "Nice to meet you," said Carter. "Likewise," James responded. Michael leaned and whispered in James' ear: "He's a bit of a history fanatic, you'll have to excuse his, er, giddiness." "No problem, I'm the same. Except I'm not giddy," James winked and stared at the RV. "... ... ... CARTER!" Michael shouted. "WHAT?!" "Unlock the door, bonehead!" "Oh! Right!" Carter pulled a keyring out of his pocket and held a small clicker. *BEEP-BEEP!* The RV was unlocked, and Michael pulled open the door. The three walked inside. Michael set the spyglass down on the table, and James looked around. "Budget cuts?" James asked. "Budget cuts." Carter frowned. "So, you're serious about this whole "treasure-hunt" thing, and all you can give us for transportation is an RV that can barely fit us three?" "I have a few more vehicles, but this is mainly our research vehicle. We'll keep most of our equipment in here, including the clues we find," said Michael. "It doesn't seem like this will be hard," James told Michael. "More difficult than you'd think, James. This may be the most difficult thing I've ever done. It could take months, years even, to find what we're looking for." "Yeah? Well I have one week before I lose my job. I can't do this." "Remember what I told you on the phone?" "What are you talking about?" "If we find this, you'll get your information. You'll get your story!" Michael patted James on the back. "First off, how do you know about my jobs problems? And second, how do you know that this might work?" "I'll answer that later. Let's go get our stories straight in the house, and I'll introduce you to everyone." The three walked back outside. But none of them knew what was still in the RV... *insert dramatic music* ------ Thanks for reading. -Striker

Bah humbug. Stupid Brickshelf... stupid pictures... stupid server overloads...

That truly is odd. I took a quick look on BrickLink and you can notice a few things in the image below. Well, first, Jango has a black waist. Second, the pen has a pattern on it. And I'm not really to sure what else, but heck, here's the pic: Er, sorry, I was wrong. I don't think we'll be getting a set with Jango just yet, and this really doesn't mean anything, because it was released last year... Link to BrickLink

Review: 8957 Mine Mech

*COUGH* -
I can vouch for Zita here, she's not scum. The way she thinks to the way she plans how we can search out the scum, really shows how much she wants this town to be clear of evil scumbags like Jerry and Donna. Shawn, please, calm down. While I realize our town's in jeopardy, we should calm down. (I'm one to talk. ) I'm still rather embarassed about how I argued with Jerry. Even if he was scum, we should search them out in a calm manner by having Chief Stevens here maybe ask some questions.
-
I can't believe I thought Donna was a townsperson. I should have believed all of you, and I'm sorry. I can't believe they killed our only killer left. What are we going to do? By the time we vote off all the suspected scum, we'll all be dead!
-
I meant how she'll die. When we vote somone off, we kill them. Usually, it's in a lot of different ways. Vincent fell down a manhole, Jerry got shot, Michele, comitted suicide(I think), etc.

Warner Brothers planning CGI/live action LEGO film
Luke McAwesome replied to Whittleberry's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Excuse me! Transformers 1 and 2 were very good movies, mind you. This movie may or may not be a bad idea. Before we all start assuming how bad it'll be, maybe we should wait till a plot arises...? -
If there is one. And don't be so sure you'll see her, it kind of depends on how she "goes".

Hello again, everyone! Today, I'm bringing you a review of the Power Miners set 8957 Mine Mech! 8957 Mine Mech Information Name: 8957 Mine Mech Theme: Power Miners Price: USD 7.99 | GBP 6.85 | DKK 69.95 | AUD 12.99 | CAD 9.99 Minifigures: 2 Pieces: 67 LEGO Shop & Home BrickLink Peeron Brickset We'll start off with the box. Chapter 1: The Box Front The front shows the Mine Mech running from what looks like a lava geiser getting ready to blow, and the saw blade arm scratching some rocks and the rock monster preparing to dine on his balanced diet of crystal. The box is awesome, and a shape I've yet to see. It's really tall! Thoguh you all probably could have figured out that much by the pics. Top The top shows the usual "Actual Size" box with this one holding the trans-green rockmonster, Boulderax. "Actual Size" is written in three languages; I'm not sure what they all are, except for English. Could anyone perhaps help me on this? I think they might be Spanish and Frnech, but I'm not too sure... Back The back shows how the saw can do a swirly-bird, and the "crushing" claws that can break most kinds of rock, it shows the combo between 8956 Stone Chopper and 8957 Mine Mech, and the Rock Monster chowing down upon some poor crystal and last shows the accessories, the pickaxe and dynamite! Not many, but at least it had dynamite. The features of this set are modest, and is good for this sized set. I've seen twenty dollar sets with less features. Side This picture shows Boulderax chasing after Brains. LEGO still has their sense of humor. I laughed when I got this in the store. These kinds of aren't on ther other boxes, I may be mistaken. Chapter 2: Instructions and Stickers Sticker Sheet Not too many, thankfully. Picture courtesy of BrickLink. Most of them just add detail to the set, like most other sticker sheets of today. Front The same image as the box, minus the information. This is basically like every set LEGO has ever done. First Page Once again, we get the page telling us not to build outdoors. Minifigure Page It's rather annoying that this step takes up an entire page. Random Page This page shows the "bumper" section being assembled, and attached to the body of the machine. Parts Page 67 parts are listed; not much, but it all turns into an awesome set. Set Page This shows all the sets in action, as well as the sets surrounding about half of the scene. Chapter 3: Minifigure(s) Front Brains is very detailed. LEGO has been doing great with leg printing this year; on the Power Miners they have flashlights and chains. Boulderax has the same "rock" pattern on his body. This is the only set Boulderax comes in. Back At this view you can see the back of Brains' overalls which has a test-tube emblem on it, showing that he's the team's scientist. On Boulderax you can se the hinge that makes the head go up and down. Brains also has a double sided head, the back side is a terrified expression. Accesories A trio of dynamite sticks, a pickaxe, and a trans-green crystal. You know, we haven't seen these since 1999-2000. Almost 10 years ago! And the good thing is, we're getting them in four new colors! Big-Mouth Boulderax He can fit one crystal in his mouth/entire body. The head is hollow which allows a trio of dynamite sticks to fit inside. Rather brilliant, in my opinion. Chapter 4: The Build Parts 60 parts go into the entire build. A lot of lime, too. Which is the main color for Power Miners. Step 6 This is where everything attaches. Notice the genius use of the BIONICLE arm connecter/section from 2005 being used as it original purpose; this is where the arms hook on. You can also see the Exo-Force waist part from 2007 being used as the part that the legs hook on to. Step 12 The body of the mech is starting to come together! The beginning of the arms and legs have been attached, and two stickers have been applied onto the legs. Legs The legs are exactly identical, with some caution stickers applied on the feet. I love that LEGO is using the Exo-Force leg parts; I miss Exo-Force, they were so original. And the minifigure torsos were brilliant, I still use the battle armor on my own minifigures. Step 18 The legs have been attached, and so has the rollcage part. I love that part, it has so many uses. It's been used in one City set so far, 7633 Construction Site. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this piece more in the future. Arms The arms aren't even arms, but more along the lines of tools. A saw and a claw for gripping those tiny crystals. Although we get some old BIONICLE parts in orange. Yay! Completed Everything's finished! Now let's see some more views: Back The back is kind of boring, there's not much to it except some plates and some BIONICLE and Technic parts. Right The right side has a drill for an arm, which I really like. I love pretending to mow the Rock Monsters down with it in cold-blooded murder. Left The left has a pair of claws to grab things, or get a hold of the Rock Monster(s). Orange BIONICLE talons are used on this arm, which I'm very happy to see in new colors. With Minifigure The minifigure adds a lot to this set; without him piloting the mech, it would look very bland. Chapter 5: The Completed Set It looks awesome! It's bigger than you'd think. The set is completed, and now it's time to move on to the summary. _______________________________________________________________________________ Summary Playability: 7/10 - The set can't be played with too much; there's only so much you can do except move the arms and legs again and again. And the "bumper" section falls off if you move the set around too much. Price: 10/10 - You get a lot for your money in this one, there's a lot of good parts and minifigs for the price. Design: 6/10 - This would be for the same reasons listed under playability; there's not too much you can do with it, and a section falls off when played with too roughly. Parts: 9/10 - A load of lime, some orange, and some bley mixed in there. The reappearence of the old Exo-Force limbs made me very happy with this purchase. Minifigures: 10/10 - The minifigs are super detailed, which earns them a 10/10! Overall - 8/10 The set is very nice looking, the minifigs are awesome, and it's a great parts pack. A lot of nice colors, orange, lime, bley and black. The minifigures are awesome, and the rock monsters are cute and funny, and yet slightly menacing. Just don't look them in the ey-ahhh. This set would be nice for display, but it can fall apart if played with harshly. So, if you love Power Miners, or just want to collect all the sets, or even just pick up something when you're going through a withdrawl, this is perfect. Bonus Shots! I've got a little treat for my dearest readers; some shots of the combo vehicle between Stone Chopper and Mine Mech! I present to you... The Cave Cutter! Left The build is ver skeletal, and the place where the "legs" attach falls of if even touched, so this build kind of has a major flaw. Back The back looks just like the Stone Chopper just with a rollcage. Right It's more or less just the same as the left. Front It's just so cool from this angle; it looks really menacing. I'd hate to be a Rock Monster if I got in this thing's way! Leftover Parts I believe every part leftover is from the Mine Mech, though I could be wrong. __________________ Thanks for reading, and I hoped you enjoyed my review. -Striker

Hi, everyone! Today I bring you a review of 8968 River Heist. So, let's move on, shall we? 8968 River Heist Information Name: 8968 River Heist Theme: Agents Price: USD 19.99 | AUD 29.99 | CAD 24.99 | GBP 15.65 Minifigures: 3 Pieces: 203 Year: 2009 BrickLink Peeron Brickset LEGO.com S&H Chapter 1: Box Front An action sequence picturing two boats, a gun, little plastic people, and money. What child wouldn't like this? Also note how Dollar Bill is, like many other Agents set boxes, shooting his gun randomly. Top The top of the box shows three minifigures. Two in one small slanted box, and one in the "Actual Size" box. Back The back of the box displays the few features of the set and a somehow smoking safe that was no doubt stolen from the bank in the background. Chapter 2: The Instructions and Stickers Front Here we have the front of the instructions, the same art as the box, minus the part count, name, and "Building Toy" sign. First Page Here LEGO tells us we can not build LEGO in the grass. I will trust their judgment on this one. Whho wants grass stains on their new bricks? Minifigure Page Here we see our new minifigures and how they are to be assembled. I would think that anyone with eyes could see how to put four parts together, except maybe four year olds. Random Page A picture showing some orange plates and orange inverted slopes being applied on the Swamp Boat. Comic Page LEGO included a couple of extra comics; but they aren't even from this set! The comics are from the boxes of 8970 Robo Attack and 8971 Aerial Defense Unit. Parts Page(s) Page 1 and... Page 2. Quite a lot of parts! Mostly orange(Oh, happy day!). DSS Not too bad. Picture courtesy of BrickLink! Ten stickers in all. Some of them are repeated, such as the caution stickers that go around the lime toxic gas tankards, and the timers on the tankards. Too many "t"s! Chapter 3: The Minifigures Front Three minifigs. Their names are Agent Fuse, Dollar Bill, and Dyna-Mite. Things of notice are the new Agent's armor piece, Dyna-Mite's Irina Spalko hair, which comes in an interesting red, and Dollar Bill's Count Dooku hair which we get in green. All over, these minifigures are unique, and brilliantly designed. Awesome work, LEGO! Back Dollar Bill's back has a dotted $ on it, and Dyna-Mite's back has a bomb with Dr. Inferno's symbol printed on it. These are very detailed, and I'm rather proud of LEGO for working harder on minifigs this year; Agents, City, Power Miners, etc. all had super detailed figures. Armor Front This is Agent Fuse's bulletproof vest, a new mold for LEGO. I just wish it wasn't printed with a big "A" on it, or it would be great for SWAT teams and the like. Armor Back The back is not printed, thank goodness. There is a stud on the back, which makes it good for something to hook on to it, like the winch in Aerial Defense Unit. Dyna-Mite's Hair A red Irina Spalko hairpiece, which I find rather interesting. The possibilities... Dollar Bill's Hair Green Count Dooku hair, very cool. My first piece like this. Very cool. Heads Three heads, from left to right, Dollar Bill's head is this with a diamond in one eye. Dyna-Mite's head has wacky sunglasses and black lipstick with a smile, most likely because of the money they just stole. And we get Agent Fuse's head, which is not really new, but here's his scared side: Something has him spooked. Torsos Dollar Bill's torso has a wad of cash shoved in his pocket, a coat, a chain around his neck, a pocket with the Dr. Inferno symbol on it, and a tie. Dyna-Mite's torso has a jumpsuit with a zipper, and an Inferno symbol on the chest. Fuse's torso is the regular Agents uniform. Legs Only Fuse's legs are printed, the other are just plain black leg assemblies. I'm kind of disappointed with this; LEGO really couldn't have printed the legs? Oh well, the torsos make up for the legs. Accessories $300 dollars, a trio of dynamite sticks, and a golden gun. It appears Dollar Bill "borrowed" Gold Tooth's gun. A lot of loot here, I can always use some more dynamite! (I now have two golden guns!) I'm one of those people that likes explosions and "BOOM!"s. Sue me. Chapter 4: The Set Safe Let's start with the safe, shall we? Front Right Left Back Overhead This safe will magically start smoking when placed(In this case, tossed.) in a source of water! The safe can probably fit about five hundred LEGO dollars in there, if you stacked them properly. The safe is really big and bulky, and really looks ike a safe. Although I did like the one from Doc Ock's Bank Robbery better. But the electronic code panel is very nice. Agent Fuse's Mini Speedboat Right Left Front Back Overhead Speedboat with Agent Fuse Agent Fuse can stand up or sit down; the handle bars are at the perfect height. The boat itself has no way of moving; a rather bad move. Oh wait, I forgot, it can't move! The "No Way of Moving" thing is a major flaw in the set's design. But I'm sure young kids wouldn't really care, huh? The Airboat Time for our villains' escape boat! It's awkward, because this kind of boat belongs in a swamp, see here for more info. Back Right Front Overhead If I had a video hosting site, I'd show you all how the propeller works, but since I don't, I have to tell you how it works. The gears you saw earlier with the tires? The small black Technic gear on there touchs another gear, and that gear touches another gear, and that gear touches the gear on the fan assembly. And when the boat is pushed forward, the wheels turn the first gear which makes the other gears turn as well. Ha! Confused ya, didn't I? This boat has most of the pieces in the set, and a treasury of orange, which is one of the best things a MOCer can get; rare colors! The only other sets I know of that currently have any orange are the new Transportation City sets and Power Miners. The propeller feature was a nice suprise, which I didn't know about until the set was completed. I don't recall it saying anything about it on the box. Either that or I'm blind. Airboat With Minifigs Chapter 5: The Complete Set A very nice looking chase scene right here. __________________________________________________________________ Summary Playability: 8/10 - I'm sure any child would easily enjoy the set itself. The concept is nice as well. I got quite a few hours of fun out of it myself! Price: 10/10 - The price to piece ratio is spot on. 203 parts for $20. Perfection. Design: 6/10 - Too much Technic, the swamp boat leaves something to be desired, and the back of Agent Fuse's mini-speedboat has no way of moving except for "The Hand of God". Parts: 8/10 -A lot of orange, black, some dark blue, and a bit of dark and light bley mixed in there too. Minifigures: 10/10 - Believe it or not, another 10! The minifigures are the best part of this set. The new Agent vest is awesome, I wish they would have made them last year. The villains are perfect as well; two parts that previously only came in one color, are now in green and red! (Christmas colors! ) Overall - 8/10 The set is great if you have spare money or if you like Agents; it's an okay set. LEGO could have had the villains steal a bit more than just $300. Although, if you want it for just the parts and minifigures, I'd go for it. The set has a lot of colors, including some uncommon ones such as orange, and some dark blue. There's better sets available out there, but if you like Agents most of all, this would probably be a good choice if you're on a low budget. (Inspired by Svelte) I hope you all enjoyed this review, brought to you by the Reviewers Academy and Striker Industries! -Striker

Lollipop, lollipop, oh, lolli-lolli-lollipop! I take that as an insult! I'll remove my images.

Wow, you saw that? I didn't. I guess that means I should remove it from my BrickShelf and this thread...?

It's probably the Atlanteans sign of peace and love. They probably have a cult, too. Hey, that's my line!
