I think the return of that piece would be great, with or without it this looks to be a excellent set. The return of the 'Tap Piece' would just be a bonus to me. We are been given the ultimate of Civilian Themes, the Farm, as a Child this would have been the greatest Lego of all time, as an Adult it is even better. The 2010 line up seems the perfect mix of Child Friendly Emergency Services, combined with a few great (for the AFOL) sets of The Farm. I did not buy the Big Farm set of 2009 (I was happy with the tractor), and I am very pleased this theme continues with the Piglet Set (an absolute must), and hopefully an impulse set (again an absolute must buy).
  2. What an excellent subject, and a well executed MOC, good secenery and an original idea. Lego Viking's have so much character don't they? They have to be one of my favourite (dead) themes. Do not worry about your lack of Decal, in my opinion they are not needed, we should be able to use our imagination (surely we still play with Lego!). On the subject of Rune Carving, my favourite has to be 'Thorni bedded Helgi carved', graffiti carved by Anglo-Scandinavian treasure hunters, onto the Maes Howe passage grave on Orkney.
  3. My main interest is to see New Classic Pirate Sets. If these are released along side a POTC theme, fair enough, we get the best of both worlds. I'm sure I would buy POTC, alongside the Classic Sets (the Classic Sets would be my favourate). I have no problem with a POTC line, and can see the potential in it. But realisticly Lego (if the speculation is correct) are not going to do this, if they have decided upon a Licensed Pirates Theme for the next few years, then we will not see our beloved yellow faces on the shelves alongside those sick looking fleshie efforts. I'm not a Space Fan, but from what I can gather Lego Space is just beginning to recover (if it has recovered at all) from the attack of Lucas Arts. My problem with a POTC theme lies with the Flesh Tone. I can not mix Flesh and Yellow togethor, and when I buy Indy I will often make the figures Yellow if this is possible (russian soldiers, gangsters from shaghai chase), so that I can use them with my Castle/ Pirates/ City. But when I have a torso which clearly displays the Flesh tone, I can not do this. For me the beauty of the 2009 Pirates was the MiniFigs. Yellow Faces that I can use with Castle, or as rough characters in a town MOC. Or the great Pirate Princess equally at home in the Medieval Market Village, or with her Pirate Friends. I would even settle for a handfull of new Classic Pirate Sets alongside a shelf full of POTC Sets, but I know that for Lego it would be one or the other. I vote for Classic Pirates Only.
  4. Sorry, my attempt at some humour to see us through these dark days. But saying that, yes, Pirates Of The Caribbean Lego would be a joke. But not as funny as mine, and in really bad taste.
  5. Pirates Original Theme Crushed?
  6. I don't have any, but, my suspicion is that they will not have 'anti-studs'. Like the Fridge Magnet 2 x 4 brick. So you can build on top, but not connect underneath. I would like to be proved wrong though because then they would very usefull. They are nice to look at though.
  7. I really don't think a Petition from the Adult Fans Of Lego will make any difference, when they have decided this. But of course I want to support it, I hope we will see more Non Licensed Pirates soon. I think the 2009 line was excellent, amazing MiniFig's, great sets, so much potential to continue on into the future. Please continue the original lego pirate adventure.

7684 looks great, a Deutz Fahr coloured tractor! The tractor design looks nice and chunky, the colour excellent, the trailor does not look bad either, the enclosure seems to have an interesting fence (new vertical fence?) Very impressed. The pigs will be a bonus, they look quite similar to the design of Lego Cows (unlike the Horse, but nice and pink!). I can't wait for bigger pictures for a closer look at our little Bacon Making Friends. A great idea Legoist, i'm sure an Animal Pack would sell well with both the Kids and Adults. I would deffinetly jump at the chance to buy a Farm Battle Pack!
  9. It really is a worse case scenario, because we loose the very usable and interesting heads, and all the torsos that show that dreaded flesh tone.
  10. This is my glimmer of hope aswell. In the UK the smaller sets (Cannon Battle/ Kraken Attackin) were available in supermarkets (in Asda at least), alongside the usual Toys R Us & Independent Shops (the full range), and I got the impression that they were selling, and then restocking. I do think that, as Bonaparte states, they did sell well. If this is the case, and they were testing the water with the 2009 line, is it not better for Lego to spend 2010 developing the theme, than rushing out poorly thought out sets for release next year? The new parts, printed flags, Minifigs with prints on the back, are surely a big commitment for Lego, so IF the theme did sell well, they will not want to waste this investment for the handfull of sets so far released. The dreaded spectre of a Fleshie Licensed Comeback is worrying, but on the other hand they have a well developed cast of characters that they do not have to pay royalties for, so it makes sense to exploit these for all that they are worth.
  11. So true.
  12. A big thank you to Kanal-K1, you have totally lifted my mood tonite (after the bad news about Pirates). I'm not overly keen on the big red vehicle sets, although I do like the Small Red Impulse Set... But I am really into the smaller black sets, one looks like an excellent submarine and the other like some sort of squid creature. Also the big set with what i presume are the Atlantis ruins looks intresting... But the MiniFigs? Wow! I absolutley love the Shark-Man Minifig (pic5), I also really like, who I presume is the Atlantean Figure (pic4). The human diver in the Impulse Set is great, a very clear picture. For me the Shark-Man is just so... Shark Like I am giving this theme a big thumbs up. Great. How long untill February?

On the Fire Boat: I am so loving the little Yellow Boat, a much more realistic colour! To be fair it looks like a nice set, I don't really buy Fire Sets, but I would be quite tempted by this if I saw a good price. But even better it floats.... Bath Time Fun! How long before we see Piglets and the Tanker Truck? And thank you for taking my mind off the disaster that the End of Pirates has arrived so soon! And of the Fire Station: I think you are quite right here.

Its not really my cup of tea, but I don't think it looks that bad really. For a City Fire Station it's OK it would deffinetly integrate well with the last one, the truck has a nice windscreen, and that might be a yellow stretcher. But surely this is the first of many 'leaked' picture to appear, i'm sure the better sets will be before our jaded and overly critical AFOL eyes very soon, I hope?

You manage to integrate that into the Standard Road Plate brilliantly, and create a very good solution to muti level roads.
  16. This indeed is sad news, but perhaps we should think ourselves lucky to have been able to buy the sets from this short lived theme. I'm glad the theme has sold well, as that gives hope that they may think about continuing the theme again in the future. I suppose we should be glad about what we did get, and I will continue to buy what sets I can untill they sadly disapear. I will hold on to the glimmer of hope that because the theme made good sales, and good profit, they may well decide to continue development again in the future. It is not beyond belief that the sets were a 'tester', and they wanted to see a return on the the development costs before they commited more funds for the next wave. I am so gutted, and I feel for all you Diehard Pirate Fanatics, that your favourate theme will not continue. I think im going to go and lovingly stroke a few pirate Minifig's now... Ohh God, Please No! Pirates does not need Fleshies and High Licensed Prices!
  17. What a great idea, Agents are not really my cup of tea (although I am very tempted by Robo Attack), but putting them in the Artic really appeals to me. I think this could yield some really interesting sets.
  18. Yes, a great review of a superb set. A set that I have fond memories of, I thought it was big at the time as well! I suppose when your only 10 many things seem bigger than how they appear now. This review has brought a smile to my face it was a great set to play with and build with. It contained great pieces to MOC with. My favourate pieces were those big curved windows, I can remember the offices, swimming pools, shops etc. that I built with them. Many other usefull pieces, a palm tree, plants, the white pillars together with the great MiniFig's, including of course the Lady sitting on her own drinking wine! You are lucky to still own such a great set, which looks in excellent condition!
  19. I think LEGO is essentially a childrens toy, and is likely (and quite rightly) to remain so. The Adult Fan Of Lego makes up a tiny minority of the Adult Population. I am proud to be one myself, but I realise that my hobby is some what unusual. Whilst I would accept that Star Wars is a theme about war, it is Sci-Fi, a fantasy. I presume by this you mean a set based on 20th century, or contemporary warfare, I would be of the opinion that it would be shame upon LEGO. There are many avenues for children to explore warfare, through Computer Games, Little Green Army Men, making warfare with their Lego. All of which as a child I participated in, but I do not think that Lego should, or actually need to, create a specific 14+ War Theme to allow children to engage in this type of play.

A very neat and well thought out display, which I am sure will look superb upon completion. I wondered the same thing when I first saw this in development, when I looked again tonite I realised that the Slope Road Plate is from the 6600-2 Highway Constuction Set. This piece has been blended in with plates to meet the wider Standard Road Plates, an excellent idea.
  21. I wasn't been argumentative, there is a good chance they will say keep it anyway (the piece is no good to them now). From my expierence they are not that interested in getting a low value faulty piece back (although with your case the piece is relatively complex), I sent mine back out of principle. I hope they are quick to send out the piece that you needed anyway.
  22. Perhaps you could sell it for $40.00? Or maybe if you had a conscience, you might offer (they might not want it back) to return it back to Lego, before you auction it off?
  23. I complained about one faulty White Mini Fig Leg Assembly, from a Cannon Battle, and I was sent White and Brown Legs very rapidly. So I have no complaints, I am sure if you e-mail them they will sort this out in an effecient manner.
  24. A very interesting topic, which I have mixed feelings about... I mainly agree with this, and am not a fan of violence for the sake of it. Although occasionally I will see a MOC, where it has been done creatively and with an aim of shocking the viewer. I have no problem with this, which I see as a type of confrontational Art. I can think of several pieces like this which are intentionally disturbing, but once a statement like this has been made once, it does not need to constantly repeated by, who I presume are, Teenage Boys. In the same way a Medieval Brothel MOC, which occur relatively frequently, was mildly amusing the first couple of times I saw one of this subject, now I just yawn and scroll down the page. Generally I do not agree with Mini Figs in disturbing scene's, although there are a handfull of disturbing scene's which I would consider as a valid form of confrontational Art. Personally when I dabble with Castle/ Pirates/ Indy, I may use some Cartoon Like Violence, but this would be in the context of the MOC, and enjoy looking at creations built like this. The recent MOC by slyowl is an example fresh in my mind, yes they are having a gunfight, but it is not real violence in my eyes. I totally agree, the violent nature of the subject has been handled brilliantly by the designers, to create a very tongue in cheek game.
  25. So you do think it should be available then?
