New poster released for "The Dark Knight Rises" I have my doubts that this movie will be better than TDK without heath Leadger. He was the reason TDK succeeded. Without him.... Well, i'll hold final judgement for when the movie comes out.
-
This is nothing new in movies. Movies recycle bits and peices from other movies all the time. Bay is not the first to do this, nor will he be the last. Becides, had no one told you i bet you never would have known and its not like that 10 seconds of footage is going to ruin a movie anyhow.

The movie was epic. The best of the 3 by far. Much more dark toned than the first two, better writing and and story. So many plot twists... Warning, spoilers people! If you haven't seen the movie, then don't continue...

Thanks for the review. Current finacial situation won't allow me to get any of these sets, but its good to know that there preety much on par with LEGO. Also good to see some unque parts in there. ( I really like the rounded clear plates). So far i have yet to see a negative review of any of the Kre-o Transformers sets. The fact that your a LEGO fan and are giving a non baised review is even more assuring. ONe question, do the Kre-ons fit in the drivers seat as well?

If i ever have the opertunity to get one, i'll use it to tow this. -
There have been a few reviews over at the Transformers forums as well as a couple Youtube reviews. All so far have been very positive. All have said the the brick quality is good; on par with LEGO. The only complaints i've heard so far has been stress marks on the Kre-o minifigure hands. other than that, all that have reviewed have recomended them. I look farward to your full non-baised review JamesBenjamin.

well that "free" network seems to have cost them quite a bit. To be fair part of the cost for the 360's yearly memebership fee goes to firewalls and such. Need to pay people that run them somehow.

Looks like we have our first review of TF-DOTM. And believe it or not, its a positive! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/49648 Although its good to hear a positive first review, i'm not the one that goes by movie critics. I'll take it with a grain of salt, but it does sound like the story is darker and more involved than the first 2. Which is good!

How about a service writer? This is the guy that writes up all the vehicles that come in for repairs and service. And of course some salesmen. And not sure if you have provisions of this in your dealer, but what about a receptionist?
-
Yes, but thats what TF has always been about. High octan thrill ride with actions and explosions galore. Bay is the perfect fit. (IMO) I still stand behind that no one wants to be remembered for making a bad movie. Every director wants to step it up the next level on the next go around. Thats how you continue to get work. That and making money.

Both your fears admittitly are justifiable. But bay and much of the cast has openely admitted that ROTF had some serious flaws and they worked hard to correct those this time around. I enjoyed ROTF, but myself do realise there was much room for improvment. HOpefully their right and they have improved. They have a new writer this time around, so i'm sure thats a good thing. Remeber, no one wants to make "bad movies" (although thats real subjective on what you concider bad). I don't believe Bay hated ROTF even after all the criticism it recieved my critics, but i do believe that he honestly wants to improve with DOTM.

I actually feel a bit sorry for you. Your so stuck in 1984 that you can't open your mind a bit. Like bay or not, he has done wonders for the TF franchise. The succses of the movies is a very large reason we were able to get games like WFC. Also, there a hell of alot more to TF than G1. You really need to get over that bud. Even if it does get re booted, there's no garantee that it will pay any G1 homage. And TF has always been about explosions since G1. Half hour comercials for toys with fighting and explosions. And you complain about story? Stories were never G1's strong point. Heck, up untill TF-Prime there hasn't been all that decent story telling. Stop living in the past. Love it. Best TF series ever IMO. Great stories, action, and every episode gets a litte deaper into the characters, as well as a bit darker as well. I like how they are apeasing so many different age groups. suitable for the younger crowd, but at the same time apealing to the older fans as well. I'd just like to see more of ratchet outside the base.

I thought this was relevant enough to bring this topic back from the dead. New Transformers: Dark of the Moon trailer came out today. Epic , simply epic!

Why is this not front paged?? Possibly one of the best mocs i have seen! You manage to put so much detail in such small places. Fantastic! Very orignal as well. Can't say i have seen a museum moc before. Again great job! Hopefully the moderators see this and front page it for more to enjoy!

First off, thanks for the great review. I now know to pass on this set. Seems rather bland for what you pay for. No interior. At least 4011 Cabin cruiser had a bed, as well as hinged wind screen to gain access to the interior. Only positive thing about this set for me is... well. Darn can't really think of anything.

Pirates of the Caribean?

I don't see this as beeing a major problem in general with pneumatics, unless... 1.- there not set up correctly such as 8421.. 2.- there no strong enough to support the load there handling.. 3.- your trying to lower the arm with a heavy load I don't see them doing anything different with the new Unimog other than whats already been done.
-
This system will work, but if you don't already have two airtanks already lieing around, this fix can become very expensive. The eaiest fix, is to simply use to complete the pnuematic system by using pnuematic hose to conect the unused "nipples" on the pistons to the unused ones on the control valve. This will slow down the the air coming out of the pistons giving you a little bit more control. For mine, i found the most cost effective way to cure this is to add two more pistons to handle the extra weight. Not only will this help raise the boom, but it will increase the load lifting, as well as the extra friction will slow down the "crashing" of the boom conciderably.

Airsoft is a hobby. A large one a that has a decent following. Very rarely does a mod lock a topic with a "catch phrase". So your options in this thread are limited. Funny, like "Alex the Great" already pointed out, the quote that is your favorite, preety much describes this thread. Spam.

Nice set up. Once i get some bills paid off i'm planing on getting an AR15. How's the shot gun working for ya? Always been curious how affective these are in the field.

This commment couldn't be more true. i have to say i find TLC's offical "stand" on tanks/violence incredibly hypacritical. As others have pointed out in the past, Indie sets have used war machines. The fact that they were based on WWII machines is irrelevent. They were war machines with weapons. To me all that says is.. (we won't make a war tank or airplane, but if its a licensed set, all bets are off". Violence is ok, as long as it isn't based on modern type equipment. Its ok to play pirates, who rob, pilage, rape and murder. But a soldier driving a tank is bad. Don't get me wrong, i do understand fantasy vs. reality, but in terms of guns and real weapons such as Indie, Batman, Pirates etc., there really all in the same categorey. Shooting someone is shooting someone. Guns are guns. Doesn't matter if its modern or not. If i choose not to allow my child to play with toy guns, then thats going to be all guns. A six shooter vs. a glock makes no differance.

The Brand has been named as Kre-o, made by Hasbro. Not Cobi. Looking at the parts from other Cobi sets i don't see any other simular parts other than the missiles that link the two brands together. Its possible they took the same missile design, but for now, its been named as Hasbro's own brick brand. So since you have some cobi sets, how is the quality?

Brickshelf: amazing truck
5150 Lego replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, i have. TLC has released several 8 wide trucks over the years that could easily be incorperated into a lego town. -
What evidence supports this? Its very possible that extra parts are included for the joints and such if you decide to build a robot.
