REVIEW: 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4!
cottonwood replied to Tung T. Le's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wish I had it! Hopefully I will have it in about seven days, I'm wishing to recieve it as a birthday gift. -
I for one understand your problem with the scale of the tie. Without the minifig having to fit inside, the scale looks more accurate and realistic. I think you absolutely nailed it, good job.

Damn, now I'm torn! I thought the Spyder version just looked kinda bad so when I bought I was going to build the regular! -
REVIEW: 8169 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4!

Good review. This is a must buy for me. How long is the model when completed? -
Well unfortunately when I built my set a week ago tomorrow I was not surprised to see that the brown is still noticeable.

Probably a bad idea to resurrect this old topic but I was extremely angered to open up my shipping box and find this awesome set in a trashy flip-up box! Let's hope this year when I receive GG there won't be such problems...

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
cottonwood replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If this includes UCS I say 10174 AT-ST or 10188 Death Star, if you can find them. These are two different extremes in terms of lego Starwars sets, one an incredible build, although out of minifig scale, and the other, iconic little accurate scenes placed with tons of minifigures. Otherwise best set for me is 7658. -
Oh my! That's absolutely miraculous! Teddy, you certainly are a one-of-a-kind builder. How you have the bricks to build all of these incredible MOCS I will never know. One after another your buildings have surprised and pleased me, at least! Now I'd like to know how you curved those pillars... PS nice shout-out to Fire Brigade with your "1904" and "Public Library" signs. Also I think it would be nice for all of us if you shared a few interior pics..

Yes you are right, in fact I used some of these parts in my latest LDD MOC. I am extremely confused

Ah, but see Market Street a has been listed as out of stock for a while.
-
The acclaimed Factory Model 10190 Market Street is no where to be found on LegoShop.com. Is this the end of the line for Market Street? Does this mean Lego will taking the other Modular Houses off of production soon as well? Or is this just a mistake? Only time will tell. http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Default.aspx?cn=301 Judgement day is upon us. EDIT- I am frightened because of my theory that the other sets will soon disappear. Also troubling is the fact that I missed out on Market Street. Thanks

Damn this set makes me wish I had subscribed to BrickMaster. The design in my opinion has no flaws and is a perfect representation in that scale. I love all the useful parts, too, of course, like the "T" things and dishes and clips. Now I just need to wait for the RGS...

Hey I've cleared up my Cafe Corner dilemma, but not without a trip to the States. Has anyone in the Halton, southern Ontario area seen the 7778?
-
Finally, today, I got around to purchasing 10182, Cafe Corner. I will be picking it up in Buffalo this week. I am so very excited! I plan to take a few pictures and maybe (maybe) write a review (I don't know how much good that would do, considering that this set is two years old). Much anticipation ensues...

Wow, what a creative little design! Great use of the click hinge flaps (don't know the correct term). I love the details like the guns and cockpit. Maybe a few more pictures showing different angles of the overall model would be better.

Lego Architecture® instructions now available

Make sure you don't need all those plates back when you go to build Fallingwater... -
Today I decided to build my own midi-scale ISD. It started off well, and I eventually even got as far as having the frame, side greeble sections, and engine bay at the back. Unfortunately when it came time to add the shapely plates, my annoying lack of angle plates intervened and destroyed hope forever. The point of that story is to convey my feelings for this line of sets. I like the scale, it is relatively easy to replicate it own your own, in the form of a MOC. I plan to buy this MF (I have none so far anyway) and as soon as TLG comes up with their own Midi-scale ISD, I'll be in line to buy it.

I've updated the design to close up some gaps and actually be a convertible. I think it looks a lot better while also being much like the one we got from TLC this year. Full gallery here.

An outlet (for any kind of store) usually has older products and therefore can sell them for less. I'm not sure if this is the case for a lego store, so really this reply is meaningless.
-
Looks cool, but I want to see it with the top on.
-
Yes, it can, on perfectly flat surface. Unfortunately the only area of my room without stuff on it is my bed, so it is my photography site. I do agree with you guys, it looks incredibly awkward. Another flaw of the design (which came as a result of trying to use as many pieces from the battle pack as possible) is that the underside of the feet is a modified plate with an offset hole on the end. This means that I cannot stand the walker on a baseplate for example. Now that I'm done pointing out my own MOC's flaws, I will proceed to justifying them. I built this with limited part selection. There you go! I will not discuss the reasons behind my sloppiness any further. I prefer to MOC on LDD (is MOC a verb now, too?)
-
Let's hope this time I haven't completely failed.
-
MOC time. Walker, I didn't like the battle pack walker so I broke it up ant made one better suited for me. Comments welcome. Sorry for bad pics Uh how come I can't upload anymore pics? I haven't any experience for posting MOCs... damn
