  1. I wish that the next Modular Building will be like the GG in that it's brick count is higher with a keen focus on exterior design with a lesser but still evident dedication to interior decorations. I also hope that this design with three completely separate layers (unlike GE) and the sloped roof (unlike GE and FB) will continue. These buildings look better at this scale to me than ones like GE, that lend themselves better stacked with many levels.
  2. Disappointed at this point. I'll have to see better pictures, but right now I have no desire to get this set. Frankly I like the exterior of my design better. Very anti-climactic for me - I've been waiting for months and now that I've seen it I don't want to buy it. Thanks for the pics anyway!
  3. That's too bad. I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed until I see it.
  4. To any of the members who have said they've seen the set - I was wondering if you had any recollection of a decorated sidewalk (such as the 'CAFE' of CC, the tan tiling of GG, the big 3 of FB, and the diamond shape of GE). Personally I'd be disappointed if it was all plain grey, the sidewalks are one of my favourite bits to build on the modular buildings.
  5. This is my "creative interpretation" of the descriptions given by BudhaBoss and Follows Closely. They don't feature all of the factors mentioned by them, but I just wanted my own visual for anticipating this release.
  6. Sounds wonderful! Thanks a lot for the info. :)
  7. Any news recently? I'm so anxious.
  8. $87 bucks for Dropship and $170 for Falcon earlier today, now $262 for Dropship and $500 for Falcon. I wasn't quick enough.
  9. Ah, finally. Thanks so much, I think they look fantastic!
  10. Couldn't have done a better review, thanks a lot Svelte. Between your excellent reviews of this and 10210 Imperial Flagship I still haven't decided which to get first. I know I would like to see some pics of the new guy hanging around with his friends Craig Corner, George Grocer and Fred Brigade. Maybe even Marge Street if you so insist!
  11. Are they counting the faceless ones in the windows then?
  12. Okay well really what I meant to say is that is looks better than all of the previous ones except perhaps GG, so you could say my statement was correct, and yours is meaning that you think the previous three are all better than this. But who cares anyway, we can all agree that this set looks spectacular (I hope)!
  13. This looks to be about the best Mod.-Build. since Green Grocer. Perhaps even better! I definitely need to get this one to go with my CC and GG. Here comes the big question- should I get this or 10210 Imperial Flagship??? :O
  14. Sounds exciting! My wallet won't stand for this though, between Green Grocer (which I must get), 10210, and my other hobbies! Good price, btw
  15. Hmm, as I recall, the Beach House set from 2008 had a very similar number of pieces. It was also nearly half the price! Jeez, these prices are getting unbelievable. Sure, it looks like an awesome set, but probably not of the same caliber as 4996!
  16. Yes! This is exactly what I was hoping for! A detailed, modern, Imperial ship! I MUST GET THIS. It's too bad my christmas list is already filled up... Edit: is that Brickbeard I see? And an anchor? And an original shark, in bley?
  17. Question - Is this ""box display image" just a photo set up to look like one similar to the sets image? Or must it have all of the graphics that we see on the front of a box? If that is a little difficult to understand, how about this - "Is Photoshop required to create a box display image?"
  18. I missed out on this set in 2005, and I even remember that I looked for it with intent. I always enjoy reading reviews about sets I don't have as some sort of compensation... Hopefully next year the Clone Wars version wil be as good or better, but I can already expect fewer minifigs and a less reasonable price... Great review, I appreciate it!
  19. I would say that the best set of the 2000's (that I own) would be the cafe corner. The best building experience that I've ever had the cash to enjoy. The worst would probably be a Jack Stone set that i bought a very long while ago. I haven't the slightest memory why I purchased the little abomination. http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/4601-1.jpg
  20. I got this set last week. I don't mind the stickers, because I know I'm never going to take this set apart! As for the scale, I LOVE IT. So swooshable! I look forward to more models like this one. As for the design, I think they nailed it. I think the design is very "creator-like, in the way that they don't have to worry about a scaled-template (minifig) . I love it (except for the freakin price!) P.S Good review. P.P.S Okay, I have a problem. I rushed right through the build so I ended up with a one by four plate and a two by two plate, both in light bley.
  21. What a clever way to make the wheel coverings (that's not the right word, should know it) ! Although I think Maybe you should only use one stud by four studs for the grill, not two studs by four studs.
  22. Just picked this up today. Can't build it just yet, not feeling well today and I thought I'd save it for a better time. Since I'm in Canada I reeeaaally dislike the OUTRAGEOUS cost of the set. It's a terrible deal. Although I figured 'I've been waiting for this a looong time might as well get it'
  23. Today I stopped by and had a look. They were sold out! Fortunately my town has two Wal-Marts for me to shop at, hopefully I can find some at the other one.
  24. Just as already suggested, maybe a LARGE ship intended for AFOLS (16+) with the design standards of the CC, GG, and even the UCS of Star Wars (although still in minifig scale) I see some of these huge MOCs that I am sure would be miraculous to build (ahem, Bonaparte) and I just think that with the overall quality and authenticity of a LEGO designed set would be dandy. If not that, I'd like a new Imperial ship, large as the BBBounty, in nice colours like navy blue, white and yellow. And plenty of cannons - I missed out on the Bounty this year :(
  25. While you were there, did you happen to notice any Midi-scale Millennium Falcons?
