  1. I think my problem is I'm from America where everyone is crooked. I think I'm so used to scandals and people doing the wrong thing that I immediately wonder is this a cover up, damage control or a sincere concern about the issue. By everyone I was being dramatic, but also referring to companies, not individual people.
  2. Do you think Apple had no idea why they got stuff produced so cheaply? In the corporate world, you can't just trust that someone is doing the right thing.
  3. Give the guy a break, it's the holidays,, besides fat it's the new, um....fat.
  4. Haha, that's great.
  5. Now that is just clever. It looks really good, your rooms are divided nicely yet still completely clear.
  6. Congratulations CopMike! I know you're been planning and participating in EB events longer than I've even been a member here, your new position suites you perfectly.
  7. Contests Mr. Moderator, all pretty in blue too.

  8. Rock on, my avatar even made the calendar page. Thanks again to CopMike for creating the baddest raffle on the web.
  9. All these videos simply make me smile and then I'm sad because I remember the days when LEGO made awesome commercials that made you really want their product. Thank goodness for youtube.
  10. Really? What stores, I've love to stock up on these. I see them fully stocked in Wal Mart and Target, all at full price, plus the Black Pearl barely came out.
  11. When you get them, be sure to do at least a mini review in this thread since it's on the index.
  12. I wonder why, Pirates of the Caribbean. It was placed in the Pirate forum because it was about Pirates. Where would you suggest the LotR theme go? History forum? Maybe.
  13. This is very interesting, being the critic that I am I wonder if TLG knew all along and they are just doing damage control, or if they are actually upset about it and caught off guard. Especially with the whole apple suicide situation.
  14. For me that is why it works, imperfect water looks more natural. I was gone for a few days and then I had to go on an indexing spree, I made a mental note to come back, but I must of had to do something and I forgot. The blog is running again at a pretty good pace so hopefully good MOC's like this don't get overlooked again.
  15. I used to collect unopened sets. Then suddenly one day I decided I was running out of room, and the reason I was collecting them, was just that, to collect them, not to re-sell them. So I made the decision to open them all, and store them in individual ZipLoc bags. I folded down the boxes nicely and I save those too. By doing this it opened up the opportunity to build them and review them, which proved to be successful for me. I from time to time go dig out a set and build it, but it only stays built for a few weeks, then it goes back into storage. I am very particular about my LEGO, and this has worked for me so far. Here is the last picture I have of my sealed sets, I have probably more than tripled this amount by now, plus a grand worth of collectible mini figs .
  16. Congrats to all the winners so far, many more days to go!
  17. You churn out some very nice creations, but may I make a suggestion to try to create some kind of white backdrop to take your pictures with? Even something as simple as two large white sheets of paper or foam board. Without this it makes the picture distracting with everything going on in the background. I only say this because I like your MOC's and it would do them justice.
  18. This is going to be one epic scene once it's done. I really appreciate the process pictures, it makes it that much more exciting to follow.
  19. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Look for it on the 9th.
  20. Happy Birthday!

  21. It's some good reading, I'd look into them.
  22. A very Happy Birthday in this cold cold month. I got you something, but it got cold.
  23. Where else would this discussion go?? LEGO may not have the license but since we are discussing what a LOTR LEGO set would be, would the licensed forum not be the correct place? If they every do get the license and start making sets, since it is based off of a movie they would need a license to produce toys based off it, therefore it belongs in the licensed forum. Absolutely not. Pirates of the Caribbean was a blessing to the Pirates line, I've seen lots of MOC's with flesh colored fig's right along side old school yellow figs. It's all about your point of view, from the sounds of it, you'll never do that, but others will. I guarantee you if this license happens the figs will be flesh colored, all licensed themes are, and the simple reason is to better resemble the product line.
  24. Since this may not get a lot of attention right now, I'll add this to the index so when someone is looking to build a ship later, it can be found. This has been added to the master index under Libraries.
  25. Although I sincerely want this theme to stick around, you have some very valid points. The UCS version of the Flying Dutchman doesn't really make sense since there is no advertising for PotC right now, so it would fall all on LEGO. Of course if LEGO would get their heads on straight they'd realize that they would sell plenty to the growing number of AFOL's in the world.
