LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 poll
Big Cam replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The bio-hazard is pretty cool, but I had to go with the Frankenstein to hang out with all my Zombies. -
Way to go Hink! The banner is great, and I like the theme color too.
-
What a great turn out so far, encourage your friends to post, this should be good.

Now that is down right amazing, I don't think I've ever seen so many ships in one place. I love your sails to the yellow is a color I've never seen on a sail before and looks really good, as do the rest of your sails, this is really impressive, nice work. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

My personal feeling fall like this. Retail stores should not be able to mark up anything beyond the manufacturers suggested retail price, it just seems wrong to me, that price is determined allowing profitability for LEGO and the retail store selling the item. Now for person to person transactions, I feel raised prices are justifiable at the point that an item becomes no longer available to the public for purchase, ie. Sold out, or discontinued. Because at that point you now have an item you cannot replace and so additional monetary value can easily be added. In the end though, the truth is an item is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay foe it, so by paying $149 for the Hogwarts castle, you have effectively let the system know that that set is worth that much to you. Its easy to say my item is worth $3,000 but if no one will ever give me that much for it, then its really not worth that much.

I have an original bsb, I'll have to check and see what pieces mine has. This is interesting, especially the instruction misprint.

Of course I'll be attending this feast. My avatar is pretty easy to recognize, torso and head are Luke from jabbas sail barge, although the same torso is in other sets. A hook, red epaulette and a Blackbeard hat with a red feather. Gold teacher badge is optional.

L.E.D's consume practically no energy so a battery should rum them for well over a year depending on how often you have them on. Also L.E.D's don't produce any heat so there is no fear of melting LEGO. Using Eurobricks as an image hosting site is a bad idea since you are allowed so little space. You need to upload your pictures to an external hosting site like brickshelf or my favorite Flickr.

That is too cool, I love that dragons head and all the fire in the back, like usual its got so much detail you must check out the additional pictures. Really cool.

When are we going to change our banner?
Big Cam replied to pr0visorak's topic in Forum Information and Help
Are you currently using the Halloween theme year round? Or do you just have bad memories? I thought that's theme looked awesome and was very Halloween oriented. Excellent job on the Harry Potter banner and theme, you guys even nailed the font perfectly. -
Is everything LEGO, including the chrome ate the end?!?! That's awesome, the proportions are just perfect. You just need a stand and a glass case for it.
-
I can't wait to see these entries. A Harry Potter contest is something I've certainly never seen here yet. The new banner and skin look great too! Now if only adults got a winter break.
-
I get the same message. I'm guessing he decided to take different pictures.

Welcome to the LEGO Action Forum!
Big Cam replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It currently is the winter theme, I'd suggest clearing your browser history. -
I Agree it would probably be really easy to implement a limit, the technology is there, but I disagree on the need. Granted it is annoying when someone quotes a book, but after one reminder it shouldn't be a problem for that individual, and hopefully most new members read the rules and this never comes up. Plus there are some instances when a larger quote might be justified, such as quoting someone from an entire page ago in a really active thread. Some people quote a 100 line quote and break it up so They can reply to specific points. You couldn't do that with a 10 line limit, also I know it was previously mentiones, but the forum does define things by lines very easily since the lines can be extended or shortened depending on browser size. Limiting by characters would make more sense, but again in my opinion it is not needed in 98% of the cases.

Do you think Lego is insanely overpriced for a good reason?
Big Cam replied to Geki Brick's topic in Community
Its all about profitability, with inflation over the past 20 years and the abundance of new molds and colors compared to say 30 years ago, its not really that bad. Since we don't know their actual costs to opperate and produce our beloved bricks, we can't really judge. -
I'm on my phone so I'm not entirely sure what's in the tutorial, but every computer with any version of window's has a program called paint, its my last choice but it works, and the windows 7 version is actually alot nicer than the XP version. The XP version kind of degrades your image, where the 7 version does not. Or my favorite free service is www.picresize.com. they allow you to adjust the size by pixel which makes it easy to adhear to eb's image size requirements.

I think its a good thing that things like the Olympics and world cup makes their way around the world to countries that usually don't host large events, it can sometime help boost their economy, but sometimes they are left with a multimillion dollar stadium that no one in the country can afford to operate or use, so I hope Its the countries decision to hold the event.

carefully I'm sure. This has made a spot on the famous pirate blog. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

New sets come out every year, but that doesn't mean they discontinue sets after exactly one year.
-
One word. Jealous. Thanks for sharing.
-
That's alot of Taun Taun's! Clever sleigh, very festive.
-
See now the duplo line is clearly aimed at younger children, so a maximum age seems more appropriate on the duplo line. I would really like to hear TLG's official word on this.
-
I am liking these smaller ships, the more I see them. I want more of the building in the background of the last picture.
-
As much as I want to believe that the ship silhouettes are previews of future ships, I think it' just coincidence.
