Yesterday, I spend some times in my old LEGO catalogue, and I saw the divers line. In French, the name is "plongeur", that means plunger in English. The name is better IMO. voil

Does anybody else want to vote? Because we need a result...

highlandcattle, here is a like to my LEGO strory and particulary to my City LEGO story. You can find some pics of my town in my brickshelf gallery (the link at the end of my posts. But a new version of my town will be ready soon, with a lot of modification, to make it better than before... Ho, and your town looks good!

You can see the reslut of my experiment: Right to left: a very new white piece a very old one after 5 days in bleach solution, brick that had the same color than the one at its left a so beautifull suned white piece after spending some times under the sunshines! and a tan one, just to see that a suned white is more like a tan than a white! I confirm that the quality of the plastic is the same after than before! So I have some sets to clean on! I couldn't imagine it works so well :'-) AlexGS, are you sure that it doesn't affect the prinnting? Somebody have a solution for pieces with stickers? thanks

Go back to the train! I see one very good point to this new set... The minifigs will have children! In fact, there is a very rare minifig noweday, a woman!

I don't see the problem with the color. In fact, there are like in real. a submarine for exploration is more yellow than black or grey (like the song says, in my yellow submarine...). And I don't think that kids have problem to play in an underwater world, it is not as difficult than in space! A pirat ship with a big calmar would be a great set! Maybe one day! Dream on! the mantaman

I dislike this set. I don't like the UCS sets in general but I have to admit that it is a good think that there is not only SW UCS models. I probably prefer a A380, the bigger passenger, instead of an american one. classic trains have an american look, and now plane! European have alsow beautiful think to build (I dream on an Effel tower UCS...). I have nothing again the americans, it would be great that TLC makes sets with different area inspiration...

I've got the 6559 deep sea bounty set. I would have more of this line but When they were on sell I was too young (so not many money), so after few days of contempling catalogue, I decided to buy it, because it was the best compromise between a good look, new pieces and animals, and the price (6558 was too small and 6560 too expensive!). I was a bit disapointed when I discovered that the red team has more beautiful MF heads! This line made me think of the Cousteau underwater explorations shown on TV. The black fish ( I don't know the english for raie) is my favorit animal. I remembered that I took it with me in school, in my pencilbox. So I could see it all the day!

I dislike this set! It is a my own train mixted with a christmas juce! And I don't think that us, Europeans, will see it on shelves. It's not a problem for me (contrary to the sponge bob sets :'-( ). Has TLC lost its sens of imagination? maybe... IMO (thanks xwingyoda for the glossary link!), it is stupid to sell a train without traintrack. even if it has no motor, you could push it around the christmas tree. without them, it will be more difficult to make it turne around!

MOC Johnny Thunder set -Hero's Tower
alex54 replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like the idea to use the explosion system seen in Wild West sets. It is a good idea that I used for my city bank few years ago... Good set with a LEGO look -
Johnny Thunder and the Key of the castle dock
alex54 replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It feel not as exotic as the LEGO sets, but JT certenly goes to those kind of places to. We can imagine that he will be at the center of a bad plot when he come back home after a very long trip... Good mix, it is not visible, so a good job. I want to see more. And even if you don't have as many answer as you want, I think that some eurobrickers like me read some topics but don't take the time to add reply... I read more than I write. Just 2 questions, what mean IMO and BTW? because I read them a lot and dunno what they mean... -
The french name is also used but like a secondary name. It is used with specific situation, and give batman some more mystery... It's hard to describe. When I discover that batman textualy meens what it meens in french, like the other superheroes like spiderman, i couldn't stop to think that it would be more ridiculous to speak about batman in english. because I will find stupid if they have their french name all the time! It's hard to describe too, and in english is harder! I don't know if other french people understand me on this forum...

I voted for the 6571. I hesitated with the 6389, but after some reflexions, I prefer the 6571: a good general look, some grass on the baseplate, a car, a truck with a lot of accessories, a copter, a girl! I like the heads of the firemen and their closes more modern, whith a better firestyle. It is the station that I regreted not to buy after seeing the so wonderfull :-X <insert that tiresome argument> fire station. So, when I saw the latest 7240, I decided to buy it, knowing that LEGO could do but also what they made with juniorisation. So I hope a more beautifull Firestation like the 6571. The odl garage doors like with the 6571 are so cool, that I don't understand why TLC doesn't used them...another mystery... I was waiting for this poll, and now I will wait for the result! :-D

Classic Castle- What Makes it So Good?
alex54 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that the fact to hacve an entire closed castle make it sucessfull. In fact the old CC were totally closed, I mean there is no space where a minifig could go trough. :-P More seriously, I think the big difference is the design. In fact, CC are more beautifull than the KK and the "new CC that is no one". The new ones have a unfinished design feeling, it is just like bricks are one on other just to look good, but without details. So we find some walls that are not totally closed! An other exemple is the entry of the caste. A sweet drawbridge with great harrows make a very good value. I don't think that the use of few junorized pieces could make a casstle bad, TLC just has not to abuse of them. I don't think that a castle have to be modular to be succesfull. In fact, some beautifull CC like the big lion one (6090) is not so modulare compared to the big black dragon (6085). But all these CC have some playability aspects like trap door, secret way, catapulte and a lot of minifigs! -
Nice review! I want it, it would be a nice add for my town!

I hesitated between 6398 and 6598 (that I have). But I choose the 6398 because it was the police station that I wanted to have when I was younger, and a friend had it, so I have played with sometimes. But I couldn't have all the sets I wanted, so I bought the next generation, the 6598! and It is cool too, with the separeted prison. One think not so great it is that the copter doesn't have a place to go down! But it is so better than the 6636!

Kikuichimonji, sorry but I disagree with you for all the points! When I speek about quality, I not only speak about pieces, but the feeling of general quality! I think it that Hobbes understand. For the railways, I bought a box of them just 2-3 months before, and theey where in old gray! And th old gray were introduced 2-3 years ago (I'm not sure!), so I will think that TLC lets the railway in old grey. Here a pic of the yellows: It is not so clear on the pic, but like said Hobbes, you do see it "with your own eyes", but there is really a difference. For the doctor's car, I recognize that TLC makes its job with the additional paper, but the final quality of the set is dammaged, and more when you have 2 normal ones! And, for the instruction, is the first time of my life that I see such a mistake, and with additional paper to correct it! (Hobbes, I as not sure that it was you who has said this mistake firts ;-) !

I've got it! It is so wonderfull, my best set of this year! That's all ;-)

I have bought on s@h: Coin Bank, 4515 Straight Rails for 9v Trains, 7046 Fire Command Craft, 7900 Heavy Loader, 7902 Doctor's Car, 8666 TunerX 1, 7905 Building Crane And I have some not very good surpises! Fisrts, the 9V track are in the new dark grey >:-( ! I have bought an other box just jew month ago, and they were in the old dark grey! Does a new yellow color will be? Because, in all of the yellow sets (Tuner X, the crane and the big truck), I see some different yellows, the traditional one and a orangier one! All the new 1x1 inclined pieces and technic pieces without stunds (sorry for my Lego english words, but I don't know the words of this pieces, a lexibook for trnaslation would be a good idea for the non english speakers!) are in the orangier yellow, and have a softy feeling >:-( . The big pieces of the crane (yellow steal imitation parts) have some scaled corner like my very old pieces >:-( ! And last, with the doctor car's, the 1x4 traditional pieces in red and white are the same but in technics! a small lego paper shows the traditionnal piece barred and after the technical version! >:-( That makes the car not as good as with traditionnal parts! and the worst is that I have two others of this car without this problem! And the error in the heavy loader building instruction that it has already seen by an other eurobrickers >:-( ! All that things make me *sing* ! The coin bank is a really wonderfull piece, and makes all the people who have seen it smiling!

I'm not the winner! :'-( No, it is not a problem for me! Congratulation to the winner ;-) , and thanks for the people who has voted for me! I think this kind of contest is a good idea to see the creation of the other eurobrikers and the diversity that just few bricks can bring with some imagination. I will let you know when my "new" town will be ready in my brickshelf gallery...

I would think that more Eurobrickers would post some pics of their cities for this contest...
