  1. More insults? When will you silly Drow learn? The next Drow spy caught on Avalonian soil will not be returning home!
  2. I think the map will get too packed in the end. We are constantly building so there will always be new places to add on the map. The best way to combat this however is by placing our builds in the areas that are already mapped. A lot of you guys do anyway. I'm de Gothia builds something for Benoic then it naturally comes under the Benoic area and so obviously doesn't need a new point on the map. So any one building mocs for their areas of land is not really a concern for Jason as those areas are already marked on the map. When it comes to building towers and first across the borders however, these new builds will need to be marked. If somebody builds a new defensive fort they also might add a settlement there as well, which eventually becomes a new area which needs to go on the map. The island that I my Black Knight story is taking place on is in the Mystic Isles, so that will need to be added. It's known simply as 'The Dark Isle'. Which is where the 'Santuary of the Damned' is. The best way to get around all this is as follows: We have are main map of Avalonia which Jason does, this has all the main areas and cities listed. Then we can also have 3 extra maps, one for each area: Enchanted Forest, Mystic Isles and the Great plains. Each of these maps can be a more detailed close up of just that area which can show all the smaller settlements and other parts in better detail. So if we take the enchanted forest area of Jason's map and enlarge it we can add more detailed points to that area. We can do this for each of the 3 areas and this will give a more detailed look into Avalonia. So, Are there any interested in doing these maps?
  3. @jason, I think it's worth having a review of the situation, find out where people are placing some of their upcoming builds and then placing those points on the map.
  4. @Volcanic P, just need a pic of your character on his noble steed.
  5. Don't worry to much about the other guilds, we must concentrate on our own guild. It is true that we have stuck up for other guilds, but that's just keeping the peace. If Avalonia was ever invaded by Nocturnus, would Kaliphiln and Mitgardia come to our aid? Probably not as they would probably be too concerned with strengthening their own borders. Not that we would need any help, it wouldn't take long for just a small part of our army to deal with them! So we must look to our own land and keep building. More towers on the borders and other new defensive positions would be a good idea. We can look at the map and see what areas need a few more towers and deffensive encampments. Nocturnus are always sending threats but they never go through with it. If they want to try and intimidate us then they can try all they want! One of these days those silly Drow will go a step too far and if that happens then it gives us a good excuse to wipe them out!!!
  6. The only downside to peace is that all my famous warriors are bored and out of practice! We might have to send a raiding party over to slaughter some Drow. That will keep my warriors entertained!
  7. The quest for the crystals was never going to be easy, unfortunatly the ultimate sacrifice was paid, but her efforts were not in vain. Its actually kind of good that you killed one of your characters off, as it adds a more realistic tone to this world. We're not all superheros, brave warriors do indeed die, but their legends live on. I will be killing off a few characters when I start my next story line. Great moc, I think 'less is more' works well for this scene. The main focus should be the grave, so in that respect you have done well. The forced perspective is a nice touch wit those trees. Like Z said, maybe some blue sky or a sombre gray sky would have really finished this scene off. Nice work
  8. Thats fantastic Matn! A perfect addition to Albion! Keep up the great Bio's Guildsmen, I will keep adding them to the first post so we have a good 'whos who' of Avalonia.
  9. I've started adding the Bio's. I think it gives a good extra bit of insight into our realm of Avalonia.
  10. Greet work guys, keep the character Bios coming. Just a note, you only need a picture of your main sigfig/character with his/her horse. So feel free to set up a heroic pose of your main character on their steed, as it will be the main pic for the Bio's. So Jason, If you want to redo a pic with just your character I can add that instead.
  11. Excellent work guys! What a great bunch of entries! This challenge has been great fun to see and has produced so many amazing builds. Thanks to all those who entered, you have done your guild very proud. Now challenge 3 is at an end, the crystals have been found and we can finally unlock the door to the most famous and legendary shrine in all of Historica. All of Historica now patiently awaits the moment when the shrine will be unlocked and we can discover what lies inside! In the mean time however, there is work to be done! This free time is not a time for relaxing, but a time for building! We must continue to make Avalonia into the mightiest kingdom. When it comes to free builds, we are the kings! Now is the time for you all to build some more of your lands, tell your stories and let the other guilds know who's the mightiest!!! ZCerberus has posted a group shot of our mightiest warriors which I have added to the front page of the thread. This has made me think that it is about time to work on our famous 'Flight Of Dragons' ! I am asking all members of Avalonia to post a picture of your Sigfig mounted on a horse. These will then be used as a kind of 'profile' picture. I would like to update the first post with a 'Flight Of Dragons' character bio section, so it will contain a picture of your Sigfig on a horse with your sigfigs name and a bit of information about your character. So if you could each post your mounted Sigfig design and then give a bit of info. Here's an example of what I mean- Name: Owain Rank: Lord Age: 30 Weapons of Choice: Long Sword & Shield Character Info: here you can write a short description that sums up your character best. You can post them all here in our thread, then I will compile them altogether on the first post. Once you have all done this there will be a small mini challenge for you all. Keep up the good work guildsmen! REX
  12. Excellent entry Captain! I love the great vivid color tones you achieve in your mocs, its an instantly recognizable part of your style. Each scene is very well built with great techniques and details. I also like the small details you add like the many interesting shield designs, the trans clear dish pieces work so well over those dark bley shields, it gives them a silvery look. The guardian himself(I assume its a 'he' with those large things dangling between his legs ) is an excellent build with great part usage, particularly that green mask piece. He kind of reminds me of that huge Transformer at the end of Transformers 2. A great collection of excellent scenes with a fun story, nice to see that you entered! Great work
  13. Very original idea! I like the scenes you have built and the flower with the round base is so very well done! Unique, enjoyable and well presented. Great entry
  14. Very enjoyable and different! A great collection of well built scenes with great details and presentation. Thats a great perspective shot of the island with the air ship flying off! Love the ending, a very original and light hearted take. Excellent work
  15. Stunning work as usual Gabe! Every scene has so many great details and ideas from the forced perspectitive to the water horse and ship to the beautifully lit cave. So much to like! I enjoyed the story and I also liked the fact that the Island was a giant turtle as it was a nice twist and a different approach. A very fine entry indeed, that final lit shot of the cave is just perfect! Great work
  16. A great exciting entry! The story is well told and I really love the many different scenes you have created here, each one helps bring the story to life. Some great ideas with the figures frozen in crystals and the final chamber is a great build! The guardian looks awesome and I like the fact that he springs up from the pit in the middle of the chamber. A very enjoyable well built adventure, well done sir, you do mighty Avalonia proud
  17. Glad to hear you enjoyed the challenge. We thought it would be more enjoyable if we allowed you guys to build your own adventure scenario and have the freedom with it. It's turned out very well indeed, so many great mocs, settings and ideas. Some of the nicest builds I've seen during GOH so far.
  18. This is truely one of the most beautiful mocs Ive seen. The choice of colors here work so well, it looks like a true temple of the Gods. Very inspiring!
  19. The roof technique Darkspawn has used is nice and easy, its just 1x2 slope bricks and then you build a roof out of plates and it lays on top of the slopes. To hold it in place you can connect it with hinge bricks or technic pins. I think I added this on my guide somewhere, if not I will add a section explaining it all. Then the info will be available for all who needs it. Beerbeard will sort you out anyway, but I will add this onto my guide.
  20. Great entry, the scenes in the pictures look stunning and help to create a great atmosphere. The moc has many eye catching details and the story was good fun. I agree the guardian looks kind of cute but I love it, he would make a gret pet/mascot for a guild. A beautiful entry
  21. Such a great entry! So much to love here, I can see that a lot of thought went into this. The black rocks are very well built as is the lava flows and guardian. A great moc that really stands out with a nice narrative tying it all together. I really enjoyed looking this one over, an awesome entry
  22. I agree with the points made. I have not yet submitted anything to this yet as my current mocs would just not work as a kids play set. However, I've been watching Cuusoo for a while now and I'm going to design some sets that will work as a playable set which could be sold. You don't have to sacrifice detail for playabilty, It's a case of finding the right balance. The problem is, it seems to mainly be well know lisenced ideas that get a lot of backing. If a good set can be designed that instantly attracts both afols and kids, then we as a forum should get behind. Let's be realistic here, isall very well posting huge models and mocs that are based on a license, but it's not really going to work is it? What people need to do is build something that could actually be a set, build it with some interesting colors and parts and then get everyone behind it. It will have a realistic chance of being made, Lego won't have to try and obtain another license, and we get a cool set with great parts and colors. Posting fully rigged custom ships and huge detailed mocs is probably the wrong way to go. I sometimes wonder if people post stuff there just to show off, without real thought into what would actually make a good set. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great mocs on Cuusoo, but the majority will just not work as they have been built as a fancy moc for show and not as a thought out playset. That's why I havn't bothered posting anything of mine on there, as they are just fancy builds and useless as a playset. The western town works well, it might be large and Lego won't release it as one whole set, but it is made up of indiviual buildings that would make good sets on their own as they have interiors and playabilty there. So it has been a good one to support as there's a good chance they could release a singlular building and add a few extra playabilty tweaks.
  23. This is truely a fantastic entry and I'm not just being biased towards a fellow Avalonian here. Both mocs are very well built with a host of great details. The floor patterns, windows and design of the Keeper's tomb are perfect and you have really shown the 'overgrown ruin' effect well. To top it off you have written an excellent background story that flows so well with the great pictures. My fav castle mocs of yours so far Makes me wonder if that 'Keeper' who was crushed is still alive in there, walking around scratching his head extremely angry that someone managed to take the crystal and run off Will we see him again I wonder? Great Entry Z!
  24. Thanks for all your great comment Theprice all depends on how cheap I can get the parts. Im not in it to rip people off, so if I get a parts cheaper then I charge a cheaper price. As I am just starting out, the only profit I make at the moment is the shipping charge, so basically I sell the moc at the exact same price as it costs to build, then I make a profit from the buyer paying for postage on top. This particular model has been sold for £90 which is how much it cost to get the pieces in. However, I could build it again and find that I might have to pay more next time, so another version might sell for £100. So it really all comes down to how much I pay for parts. I am trying to push selling smaller models like Blencathra to start with, as they are cheaper and I can produce more. However there will soon be lots to choose from. These are based on the 'Lilliput Lane collectable minitures' so people can look at the list of Lilliput lane models, pick one they like and I will then build it in Lego for commission sales. These are a few designs that I am working on which will soon be ready for sale:
  25. You have far too many 1x1 rounds!!!!!!! I don't have many in trans blue. This is looking very impressive so far, one thing I have to mention is the fact that your really mainly using 'basic' bricks for most of the structure, which really is an achievement in itself, as its a lot harder to create good details. Im impressed Those black half-arch pieces used to create a pattern up the wall is another effective detail that works very well. Very 'you' and all the better for it.
