That's a really nice technique for posing! It was even featured on The Brother's Brick: Link Just one question: how do you pose the legos, and how are they attached to the waist and feet?

How do companies get away with copying Lego?
Spyder replied to Shoc's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Is there any way to get pictures? I'm actually quite interested in this topic, and I wanted to see what the sets look like. -
My little cousin loves to play with Lego, and owns a ton, although within the first week he has it, it's all spare pieces on the floor. Whenever he comes over, he always annoys me, asking to play with my Lego. (he's only 5) So usually I'll give him a limited amount of pieces and see what he can come up with. (sometimes he actually builds some pretty cool stuff) However, a couple times, I let him play with an assembled Lego set under close supervision. He then wants me to play a Lego war with him. Only 5 seconds into it, he smashes his ship with mine, sending pieces everywhere, then pretends to make a crash landing right in to the floor, destroying the ship. I have been careful since it happened at first, but sometimes it happens accidentally. it's not too hard to assemble my sets, although whenever I come to his house, I'm constantly fixing his Lego sets because I am a perfectionist. That's why everything I've typed so far is perfectly correct grammar. (I hope! ) So i guess I personally haven't dropped any thing, although I dread the day when I do, as I have just jinxed myself!

Review: 8971 Aerial Defense Unit
Spyder replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I agree that the more you play with a set, the more you like it. The dual-bladed helicopter is a great idea, something I've never seen done before in Lego form. The inside might be a good place to mod it, and maybe make enough spce so that the jet ski can shoot out the back, maybe even make the jet ski a four-wheeler or something like that. -
That is a very nice Clawcraft. I really like the shape of the wings. By the way, I would be interested in seeing that UCS B-Wing in the background.

Review 7078 King’s Battle Chariot
Spyder replied to Cardinal Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's sad. The chariot is nice, except for the fact that the scale is off. I doubt that one horse could pull that very far. The new king is nice, but not worth it in this set. I would rather get a bigger set that has the king in it with a better price/parts ratio. The set is okay, the price sucks. -

Thanks for the link! Great review again! -
Oh my gosh! That's the best of 'em yet. Look at that bluecoat! And that Union soldier! I gotta get this one. Amazing job Lego! Two thumbs up!

I found a Mutt torso and legs on my school bus. Kinda random, since I know no one on my bus has any Lego.

What figure represents the castle line?
Spyder replied to Tom Bricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What? There's only a princess, a dwarf, a troll, and some vikings on the banner. You mean the black falcon fig? -

Probably the king would work best. The rest are obvious: Indy-Indy, Chase-Agents, Vader-Star Wars, etc. -

It was a great review, and I love the figs. I want this set, but not enough to pay TRU price for it. Maybe if it goes on sale. One thing though, could we get a shot of the Magma commander with his helmet off? Please? -
Those are amazing! I especially like Strikers! I can barely hold the excitement in for mine, 'cause you kknow when Hound Knight draws something, it's awesome!

I'll have to try out a guitar pick, seeing as I have a couple at home. (I used to play guitar.) EDIT: The guitar pick works great for separating the flat pieces off studs! Thanks for the tip!
-
Oh! I see it now! Maybe you could cover it up with a black 2x4 plate. I know you have limited pieces, but it would look much better.
-
I would suggest smoothing off the roof and getting rid of that yellow 1x4 plate and replacing it with a windshield piece. Other than that, it looks great, and the colors are good. Hope you can get that horse trailer set and upgrade it! EDIT: You double posted, but the title was changed somehow.

Darth Revan is my favorite Sith lord! I'm planning on making one myself. Do you know exactly where you got the decal? And where did you get the lightsaber, I know I've seen it before. I know it was a quickie, but I can't wait until you upgrade the head. he torso looks great.

REVIEW: 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins
Spyder replied to Alldarker's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Pictures are WAY too big. Even with a fast connection, they still took a very long time to load. You need to re-size them. The temple is a set I would like to get very much. And 18 printed pieces! That's a ton! Those accountants must have been very angry at the set designers! The set looks like it comes with a lot of tan parts. and look at those baseplates! I wish Lego still did that today. Anyways, it was a great review, except for the pictures. You can find out how to re-size them here: Tutorial -
I didn't mean it was bad, it was just a question. I like it. I think it completes the look. Maybe you could create a scout, or a pilot like these: Scout Pilot The rest of the femtroopers
-
Holy Crap! And I thought it couldn't get any better! I love the crownies, so I almost want them to win, except I don't want that beautiful castle to be destroyed.
-
Great idea! I can't wait to see the entire army! She doesn't need armor because no male trooper would ever shoot her! Is that a necklace on her stomach?
-
Oh boy! Here we go again!
-
Yeah! Show 'em the true power of the Tuskens! :skull: You did a great job on the mountain side. I'll have to try some roast Gamorrian pig soon!

UK Chrome Vader @TRU ! + set update
Spyder replied to The Rancor's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
It's on Brickset. Chrome Vader Article And what's up with this? Since when has the US been screwed like this? (I am happy for you Europeans, but why is this offer not in the US also?) I don't even have a regular Vader! -
I think they should definitely release more 3-D baseplates. I don't have any as I started collecting only last year.
