nice build ! kinda reminding the spider in a star wars episode, which is a great point ! the simple design looks great, and the driver minifig is awesome !

nice ! the look great, their shape is cool !

20 supporters in 2 days on cuusoo ! hope it'll continue like that :D

yeah i'm gonna add details on the outside, as it's quite a simple design so far, but i need to find a tchnique to do it with lego parts Thx for the comments !

here's the final mini scene, but well not so mini as i imagined at the beginning It's steamerton warehouse, where he experiments magnetic fields and so much things, but now he spends all his time on the magnetic train. In the previous scenes i've built a part of this moc, where you can see the mag field production unit, i've completed it with a steamer for heat and lights, and with the other part wich iswhere he tests his magnetic train. Here you can see a prototype of a magnetic engine, the first ever produced. as you can see steamerton lost a leg in his experiments, and the other has been repaired with some metal plates, because his legs been broken by the mag train prototype at the first trial, caused by a power failure in the mag field production unit ... He survived but is now more injured than never, but he keeps working the prototype uses a single mag wheel, a simple little boiler ans there not any bodywork or streamlining, just a chain to keep steam-man on board, but it runs, and it runs pretty good for now. Next step is to do a bit of grass and such things inside, i'll try later. This moc can be divided in two separate scenes Thx for watching

man that's enourmous :D would be a real challenge to build it IRL, i'de love to have such a great amount of parts to build a gigantic MOC like that
-
really nice ! could you tell me how many parts are there in this MOC ? i wonder there's around 10k , am i right ? The cool thing with it is that it's fully playable, i mean there's a lot of scenarii possible, with this border and check point
-
ahah thanks, that was the goal :D yay, i want it to be steampunk as it drirectly belongs to my steampunk train ;) it gonna have a steam engine to provide light and so on, but even if it's only digital it takes quite a long time :) steamerton prefers spending his money in experiments such as steam super cars, what already costs him some scars, and a hand would be overnice to customise the minifig as i want, with a chain watch, some more details, but LDD don't let me do what i want

this digital MOC is awesome ! you got so many great ideas, and the basis of the set are cool ! it reminds me a bit of the avatar movie ;) Hope you'll be able to build it IRL one day, would be awesome to see it in real bricks

hi all Im' posting here as i'm now creating a lil story for my steampunk train you can see it here : http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=82776 so let's go this story takes place in the early 20th century, at the beginning of the industrial era. Steam trains are crossing country for several years now, but they are slow. And here come our guy, georges "steam-man" steamerton. He is in the steam things since his childhood, and is now a true steam creator. To meet some other inventors, he uses trains as his steam super car can't travel long enough. He always thought about some super train, traveling fast enough to crossing the country in only a few hours. But the biggest problem was that the wheels scratching on the rails were slowing the train, the loss of power and speed was really high. So this thought: "hey why not trying something else, like if the train was not using rails anymore for traction but only as a guide. As he was an inventor, he had already tried some magnetic field production, but only for fun. Now it was time to create a BIG one. So he worked, worked and worked again, and finally came up with one of the biggest and powerfull magnet ever seen. so he buyed an old warehouse, restored it and began to work. unfortunatly while working he lost a hand, quickly replaced by this awaiting to have enough money for something better so it's all for now, our guy is actually destructing the right part of his warehouse to build a rail way, because now he got his magnet, he needs a train coach to test it :D Thx for watching, see ya folks !

what can i say ... MY GOD !!! it's just awesome ! this is just one of the biggest thing i've ever seen, wonder how many parts are composing it ;) u did an amazing job, congrats !

i kept the traditionnal design as i left them forward, i think it looks better and it allows me to add a big light on the front ;) i've finalized design, adding some stuff to make it slicker (son roof tiles or so on), and as it's a really big train (11482 parts fully assembled), it needs more than one magnetic field production unit, so i've re used the tanker and changed the inside here it is: so the engine can produce its own magnetic field for itself and the tender, and for the whole train it needs 3 more production units with their controlers the train counts: the engine, 2 tenders, 1 restaurant coach and 2 travelers coach for now, but why not something like a fret trailer to load 2 steam cars for the richest passenger ;) i'm happy with it, now i'll work on the full train station, and on the mini story coming with it, relating the beginning of the first mag field train, with its creator and so on, but for the station should i move to city or something else ? you can see the lil story comin with this train here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82956

so here is the trial for the smoke stacks I put 2 cause there are 2 boilers, and here is xhat i came up with side view: front view: 1st possibility: 2nd possibility: what ya think ? EDIT: repositionned the stacks, i think it looks better ;)
-
ok thx, i'll test it and post a snapshot ;)
-
tHe smokestack is streamlined too, so that's the technic bricks with 1 1/2 m connectIng bush on top of the boiler ;)
-
i've tried with one wheel per side, and i've tried to hide them more, but i didn't managed ;) Here are the final shots, after some troubleshouting about the frame and designing the interior, it's done inside you got an access to the boiler, the magnetic field producer, the pump for coal and water, and the necesseary commands and controls to get all this steam engine workin great, 3 minifigs can fit in this tight area the engine with the tanker coach the full train: engine, tanker, restaurant coach and two travelers coaches hope ya like it as i do :D
-
thx, i tried other design but it wasn't lookin nice, it was kinda like some butter would have melt under the sun ;)
-
hey, sorry for no editing the previous post but as the exterior is finished i think it's better to post a new one so as said there are now 2 mag wheels per side, less gears, and it's now really long, 72 studs long exactly for 20 wide ;) there are pistons but they are hiden by the wheels, and now i have to design the interior thx for watching,
-
hi all ! i've done some modifications, it's a WIP now but i've done something i think is quite good I've shortened the cab of 5 studs, and added 14 studs of lengh, and said i've integrated the magnetic wheels in the body now i need to add mechanics a bit to make the side less empty and all the slick parts will be movable as under them there will be the gears and others, detail the interior and do a magnetic field production unit Here's the lil snapshot hope ya like ;)

well as i've seen here it's quite hard to get a train that can run the lego tracks nicely, but for now it's a static display train, i don't want it to be motorized, first of all because i haven't enhough room to have a full track in my 35 square meters flat, and because since it's really big i think it will be hard to get it run nicely, softly and fast ;) I'm gonna build it, don't really know when cause it already counts more than 10k bricks with engine+tanker+3 coahces, so i'll have to get a lot of bricks, but i really want to build it since it's my biggest lego project ever, I already got like 2 or 3k black bricks, and the same in the 2 greys, so now i need to see what i lack and order it but in future why not motorizing it when i'll have a larger space to dedicate to hobbies, and if it's the case i'll certainly use what ya say for the tracks thx for your comments !
-
ok i'll take that in note, i've already get rid of that piston, and tomorrow (it's midnight here :D ) i'm gonna do it again, less gears, and more streamlined bodywork
-
i'm kinda inspired by Jules Verne, he is my favorite books author, i got all his books at home and i read'em all the time ... I kinda love his wolrd, when i was a kid i firts read 20 000 leagues under the sea, and i was astonished, i dreamed about it for a long time Thx for your comments, it really helps me I'll test if i can hide some of those gears to make it slicker, and i'll show you the result ow and by the way, i think it's to short compared to my other coaches, so it will be added so more brickes so that i'll be abble to add a second big wheel, and a second piston, i want it to be huge, really huge
-
a new lil update, i've quite finished the first side mechanics for magnetic wheel ;) see ya !
