Another thing you should consider is that there is a substantially smaller amount of straight tracks generally produced and sold. In all their "complete" sets (train + track), LEGO include curved tracks as >80% of the entire layout. As a rule of the thumb, the oval layout which is favoured in all official sets consists of mostly curved pieces, so there you have another reason for the abundance of those in comparison to straight track.

Once again I'm amazed by the timing of reviewers here on EB! I just bought a MIB 10133 BNSF train and TheBrickster posted a review of that set; right now I'm considering splashing out on this one and voila - you've posted THIS to make my decision even tougher... First of all - great review, thanks for that I might consider doing one as well though (if / after I get the set), seeing as we've both been dreaming about getting the Green Grocer for quite some time now! Regarding the set itself - what do you guys think, will the Green Grocer be cancelled after this year to enhance its status as a rare item? Or would CC be the first one to go? Actually, do you think LEGO will stop producing & selling any one of their modular sets within the next year?

A very nice rendition of the police force's fleet of highway patrols. I also believe that using only black parts for the front and the rear of the car would give it a much more "menacing" look, so good luck on getting those parts! Other than that, I really enjoy the simple solution of using the rounded edges of the hood piece in order to to shape the headlights. It has really worked out well. Btw, the light bars are a really nice addition. I'd take that over the slicktop any day!

Rerman, you rone there with my rettle? I'd very ruch rike to have it rack, if that's OK with you! ...Thank you. Since rome of you reem to be a bit rorgetful, let me remind you that I only joined your weird lil pack o'ravelers after you rot out in the fields, remember? I raven't seen your rang rain OR any radies. I have rowever seen most of what both this ere farm and the entire Rilloughbie town have to offer... I ron't be joining you in your tour of the rables... I'll be waiting here at the ront porch in case anyone rould rike to see how rood rogs are at chess. * game aside *: There is no dog in Twilight Zone, let alone a talking one. So I don't really thinking it is appropriate to draw any parallels...

Thanks a lot Freddie! Of course, I know this can't happen overnight. Basically what was most interesting for me was the extent to which lugnet has helped you in setting up your LUG. You say that you started off with a paid membership - was that @ Lugnet or someplace else? We've already got a few ideas regarding our local LUG - we've got a forum set up and a blog for all information regarding LEGO in Bulgaria is being worked on. We're not planning on getting official just yet, we'd rather take it slowly and go one step at a time - but the thing we really need advice on is registering our club with LEGO - was paid membership @ Lugnet enough or did you also take other measures in order to "appear" on the map of global LUGs as a national club? Thank you once again and sorry for my seemingly endless questions...

Who the ruck is that Relizabeth lady anyway!? And ry should I know her? Rerman, I was roping you were rormal... but I think I'm rarting to see the right now... Oh, and ry the ray, back in the ray I used to carry around a small sign rat read "Ron't pet the rog". It's not that I've rot the rabies or romethin, and I think I'm quite riendly. It's just that I ron't like reople messing up my hair alright? Resides, I'm a Reat Dane! I'm almost as tall as you, if you raven't noticed so far! Ro you really find that I am a roper object for petting? Here, Rerman, you can reck out my rettle. Fancy, eh? * Puts kettle down on the ground for Herman to examine it * * Nighttime has fallen and the field suddenly gets extremely quiet * Well, rere we are then. I ron't know about that roise you think you heard a minute or so ago, but sometimes during righttime the silence out rere is reafening. Ranyhoo, are you ravin a rinkin session or do you refer slumber parties? (I think I know rot you're roing to say, Rerman...) What are we roin, now that we're at the rarm, it's retting rate, so some of you right wanna hit the sack raight away! I'm thinking of combining my BNSF train with a few MOC waggons - I was thinking of a couple of grain hoppers or a car/digger transport with some cargo carriages as well... I've bought a 10013 Open Freight Waggon along with the GP-38 engine, so I think I'll turn it into some other kind of rolling stock (replacing blue with yellow/orange/green as basic colours, of course) As far as the Super Chief is concerned, I'm not sure if anything other than its standard cars would look good coupled with that train... Sorta like the Emerald Night - I can't imagine it pulling logs or petrol waggons, for example :)

Howdy guys and gals, As most of you might know, I've been trying to set up a Bulgarian LEGO Users Group for some time now. So far I've managed to contact a few local LEGO fans and with a bit of help in terms of popularisation which can be taken care of by a popular local LEGO store, I believe we are now in a position to finally start thinking about founding our own LUG. However, this is precisely the part where we lack information or experience... That's why I would be extremely grateful if you guys could share anything regarding your LUG with me, so I can good that experience to good use. To start off, how was your LUG founded, was it registered anywhere, what role did lugnet have to play, what were your group's initial aims, what measures did you take in order to popularise it, etc... I know all this stuff is very specific depending on the different regions and countries, but I feel that you can really give us some invaluable information. So please share as much as you can. Thanks in advance! Bobby

You're right about the need to see the Ferrari car on a more "typical" racetrack before drawing conclusions... However, both Kimmi and Massa had some very good, calm performances over the entire racing weekend which went undisturbed by team errors. And that's definitely nice for a change - even if I wouldn't mind Ferrari finishing as far back as possible In comparison, Hamilton has been trying real real hard to get the maximum from the weak car he's still got, but he's pushed it over the edge at least twice throughout the weekend and it shows in his driving that his confidence is definitely a bit shattered. I do hope these hard times will prove to be a character-building challenge for him though, Lewis is not a quitter... I was also sorry to see Nakajima hit the tires... Bearing in mind it was only his second race in Monaco ever, he did show a lot of desire to perform well on that track. He drove a fine race but the lost control for one split second and that cost him, just like Vettel earlier... However, unlike Vettel I can't quite see Nakajima mounting a serious title challenge in years to come.

Our first title (given by Hinckley ;) ) was "Chopper Otters" owing to the multitude of minifig-scale motorbike MOCs I posted over a short period... My bike frenzy is most definitely going to return later on this summer! After requesting that our nickname be shortened and thus dropping our first names from our username, they were added to the title which then read "Asya & Bobby Otters" - in case there was still anyone out there who didn't know us by our names Currently, owing to our/my participation (as you know, I've set up this account to show creations which we build together, however I'm the only one who writes in the forum) in TheBrickster's Murder on the Emerald Express as Scruffy, I guess our title is a throwback to the early years of my character, hence we're now called "Asya & Bobby Otter Pups". A bit of cross-breeding there, but hopefully there's no implication that we're an abomination of nature

I'm so rappy I'm able to ring our the best in you! Obviously, rost of you ruys have some rerious rissues you really reed to work on... Rowever, I'm retty rositive that either Rethro or Jeb needs to finally rake an appearance and ronfirm we're already rere, since after all I'm not the rowner of the rarm and even if I rot you rere, just standing outside won't be too ruseful. @ Rerman: It's rice to have round a reemingly rormal rerson around rese parts. I'll be rookin out for your rack ( OK, I mean your BACK!) ruddy. Us Reat Danes make rerfect rotchdogs. Oh, and about that rettle - I just found it lying around in the rields an hour or so ago. Ridn't you guys rave a train to fix? * Constant metallic sound of the kettle's handle hitting its body due to Scruffy's ranting seems to disturb the last few crows flying overhead as they decide not to accompany the small gang making its way through the corn fields*

Rupid ol man... What's the roint in raring reople off!? The roys are from outta rown, and as far as I can rell, the further the retter for them! Rood thing Jethro is not rollowing in your rootsteps. Ro, and ry the ray, I could show ru a rortcut rough the rields. It's rettin rark and the nights rout here get righty cold, so you'd retter get runnin or rollow my read. You romin' then?

Rat "flee-bit'n rog" rould rather rend the night outside, rank you very ruch. The rest of you can ruit yourselves at the hay-rilled rable. I rill accompany you to the rarm though. Rowing how good Jeb is with rathfinding, I sometimes wonder row he still ranages to find his own rackyard. So are we roing then? * Picks up kettle once again after having finished the rant and waits patiently for the other guys to decide where they're going*

Murder on the Emerald Express: Characters
MetroiD replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, I guess you know this by now, but here goes... I'm playing Scruffy (the Mystery Dog). Yes, I can talk, so you guys will have to live with that. I don't like being compared to Scooby Doo (why would you want to compare me to Rooby Roo anyway!?). I've lived in Willoughby ever since I was a little (talking) puppy. And I'm damn happy I don't have a last name -

Ha! Great to see you pop over to this side of the forum As always, any LEGO bike meets my total approval... This one is quite special though, combining Technic and regular elements and yet achieving a Town-like feel & look. I wouldn't worry about those legs if I were you, people ride bikes in all sorts of ridiculous positions these days, why not experiment with some yoga-leg-crossing for this one I'm sending you an invitation on MOCpages to join a bike-builders group... will be happy if you'd post this great bike there as well :)

Want it. Will have it. 100%. LOVIN IT! P.S.: Hinck, I also hope that this will be the first one of a lot more christmas sets in the years to come... what a WONDERFUL surprise by LEGO!
