Fraulein Bloodbrick: The Conclusion
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah ok it's now clear, sorry I wasn't aware of the 5+1 in the first Bloodbrick since I wasn't able to follow it. If I had known that fact, then it would have made sense and I would have certainly considered the possibility of conversion early in the game. Which makes me wonder why the Townies who played Bloodbrick I didn't bring this up during the game (except for Rufus privately)... -
Fraulein Bloodbrick: The Conclusion
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
With or without the conversion, I think it would have been better if the "initial" number of scum was not mentioned on the start and simply just remained a mystery like in most of the past EB games. Just out of curiosity, what's the reason behind stating the specific number of 5 Frau's agents at the start of the game? To be different with the other previous games probably? -
Fraulein Bloodbrick: The Conclusion

Seriously, does the Town have a chance beating that scum line-up? What a damn luck of the draw cup! Ah yes, my "Best Character" award goes to Flitwick, who could ever forget Koilette, I love that fish.. (Am I hitting on fishes too now? ) -
Fraulein Bloodbrick: The Conclusion
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
First of all, when did 5 = 6??? I never saw that conversion coming, even if Rufus brought up the idea in our discussions, I never entertained the idea thinking that the "simple med-swapping" thingy is all the twist we'll have in this game. That kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and it ruined the overall fun I had in the game. I would have rather been defeated by a "Clear 5" instead of a "Surprising 6". Oh well, I guess it's just me sourgraping that all the hardwork of the committed townies was laid to waste. Sorry for the minor rant, just being honest with what I feel. With that out of the way, I'd like to thank def for letting me play and have my first regular mafia game experience, it was a blast playing with and against the great mafiosos of EB. The refreshing med/ability-passing idea is highly-commendable and hope to see it reincarnated in some sort in future mafia games. Special thanks to Rufus/Pandora, I've learned a lot interacting with the both of you. You're like the Obi-Wan of my Anakin: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=lIWm1GSHJ2o Thanks also to my Town allies Tammo, Ron, and Sandy (briefly). My apologies to Cornelius, Flitwick, and Brickdoctor for the wrong accusations. And congratulations to the Scum Team, even if I badly wanted to beat all of you. Now seeing the five six of you, you sure are a formidable heavyweight team of a scummies. -
Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum II: Fraulein Bloodbrick
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks def for letting me play in your insane asylum game! I had a blast playing with the "vets" so to speak. Good luck to the remaining players! -

If that is your strict definition of iconic, then I respect that as your opinion. Unfortunately, I have a different way of looking at the term iconic myself. I view iconicity as a generational thing, and again, please excuse me if I'm going with non-LEGO, non-SW, real-world analogies: If 'original' icons such as the OT, Madonna (music), Michael Jordan (basketball) are trailblazers in their respective fields, etc., then does that mean newer concepts/ideas/personalities who have recently sprung up and followed in their footsteps such as PT/CW, Lady Gaga, LeBron James/Kobe Bryant cannot be regarded as icons just because they are based off from something original?
-
Funny thing is even before you mentioned that I thought of trying it out in LDD after it was brought up in this discussion, I'll start with that and try to work things from there.
-
Now that I could accept, given the fact that OT vehicles have the benefit of being the 'original' and have more than 30 years of exposure under their belts compared to the relatively new vehicles from the PT/CW. In StoutFiles's opinion, yes. But as a general opinion, that's taking it too far... I also think it is very possible for a UCS RGS, given that the LEGO medium is very flexible and ever evolving that newer parts/techniques may develop in the near future that would accommodate a larger-scale, better-designed, and more detailed version of the RGS.
-
The question is, is there a particular way to tell if a certain SW vehicle "can be recognized instantly and certainly as a Star Wars vehicle by someone who has had little or no exposure to Star Wars" and hence confirm if they are "iconic" or not to these people? Any study/survey/data that can claim this? I cannot tell since obviously I am not one of these non-SW people, but to tell a certain SW vehicle isn't iconic is purely subjective and is dependent on the personal opinion of each individual. I can understand the veteran OT fans saying the X-Wing is iconic, but to claim that the same cannot be said about the younger generation's RGS is a bit biased IMO. It's like Michael Jordan fans saying LeBron James or Kobe Bryant isn't iconic. The way I see it, each generation of SW vehicles has it's own "flagship"/iconic vehicle, and that is how TLG is marketing the UCS sets. As mentioned countless times in this thread, it's all about the target audience, and it just so happened that right now the intended market of the UCS sets are the ones who grew up with the OT in the 70s/80s, and hence have the most "financial flexibility" at this point to buy these expensive UCS sets. Fast forward to the future 10-15 years from now (if the LSW license is still running), then we'd expect the target market of the UCS sets to shift to the CW previously-KFOLs-now-AFOLs. I'm just glad I got into SW in the 90's, right smack in the middle of OT and PT/CW eras, so I tend to appreciate the best of both worlds. We already have the UCS X-Wing, which is my iconic OT vehicle, and I'd like to see a UCS RGS to represent the PT/CW, as it is one of the unique and better-looking vehicles in this era and isn't based on an OT vehicle. Though I recognize that a UCS RGS have to be substantially larger and more detailed than the system-scale one, which is already a large set in itself. It may pose problems in getting the appropriate parts-price balance but I'm still curious to see how TLG will pull it off in case they decide to release this.

Vote: Dr. Bethany Bovary (Brickdoctor)

You see, even you admit there's no better alternative. At this point, not convicting someone is not option so we'd rather go with something than do nothing. That's the same litany of all the three previous scum before you. Kinda expected from someone in the chopping block. I'm sorry but this is just how cruel this game of life is, sometimes we have to make sacrifices and we're willing to take this risk and hopefully our decision will be correct (for the fourth straight time).
-
Then who do you think are these scum that's trying to set you up? When ultimately it is the two of us who's the source of this accusation against you. We've been analyzing everything that has happened since Day 1, and it just so happened that you turn out to be one of the most suspicious ones. As I've said, we could be wrong, we could be right, but it's a calculated risk we're willing to take, much like the three previous 'gambles' we took. So I'll ask you publicly, if you don't think you should be voted off, then who do you think we should go for today? Ever since you've not contributed significantly in the discussions, unlike most of our dear dead innocent friends who have in one way or another made an effort to speak out and contribute something for our cause. So I ask you now, who's the better alternative to be lynched out today aside from you? Hmmm?
-
I did not say that our best lead today, and that is convicting you, is absolutely correct. As I said before, in this crazy game that Frau's playing on us, the only way we could ultimately know the 100% truth is by convicting someone, like all the results that was confirmed to us after all the lynching that we have done since Day 1. And think about this, if Pandoo and I were scum, then why have we successfully led the conviction of three scums in a row (Heng, Janie, Imes)? I think it would've been monumentally stupid for us to convict three of our own, if we were part of a scum group of five. The truth is, we're not, and we're simply two of the most hardworking innocent people here that's trying our best to lynch out Frau's agents. Can you say that to yourself if you're really a concerned innocent inmate? I guess not, since I assume you've done nothing for the Town's cause. And why would you, if you're MO is just to sit back and stay off the radar like what your fellow scummies do.
-
With the loss of all the investigative meds as they were taken out one-by-one by Frau's agents, I assume we all realize that we have no way of fully identifying if a certain inmate is Scum or not, and we could only rely now on 'reading' what people have said and done throughout this ordeal. Like what we've been doing the past 4 days, we've been following the best lead that we've had and it has successfully worked 3 out of the 4 days (of course counting our crucial mistake of convicting Sunny instead of Heng), and it just so happened that our best lead today based on what Pandoo revealed is pointing towards Bethany. It is just so striking that the only one to have publicly noticed of Bethany's behavior yesterday got killed last night. This might not be as strong as our case against the past 3 scums but I'm willing to take the risk of convicting someone based on these laid-out suspicions. We wouldn't know if we won't try. But if someone else has a better case against somebody, then bring it out so we could discuss.

Two more dead... I was honestly expecting only one of us will be killed last night. What confounds me is Perry's death, why the megabluck is there a pistol again?? It could either be of the two: 1) Perry broke two of Frau's rules (messing with the med list on Day 1 and not doing the "I'm innocent!" thingy) that's why she had to be killed OR 2) One of the last persons who took the Paint Thinner before it was taken out invented a pistol and again gave it to her scum buddies, took a 1-day break of pistol killing for her not to look suspicious, then Boom! The scum strikes back last night. Go figure who that might be... Just stating the possibilities... Though I'm more inclined to believe it's the first scenario, considering it was not a Walrus who killed Perry, probably one of Frau's "Space Police III" guys?

What an amazing and highly-entertaining collection of MOCs to look at! The Garfield-crossover idea is truly a winner and you've pulled each of the Garfield impersonations beautifully in brick-built. This really made my day, great job HAGGAR and thanks for sharing!

Minifig Customization Workshop Contest 2011
XimenaPaulina replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
This promises to be an exciting contest for sure! I had a blast joining last year () and I'm excited to see what our creative customizers, veterans and new blood alike, will come up this time around. -
Happy Birthday Erdie! Have a great one mate!

Lots of lovely green.. Yet another beautiful work ISC, I simply love the combination of the eco-green elements in this futuristic but 'Classic-Space'-looking set-up.

Vote: Imes da Booey (iamded) I need not say more.
-
Possible, but the chances of the protector/doctor med (if there's any) successfully protecting its target is highly unlikely especially in the first night. I'm still inclined to believe this 1-day delay theory of the gun inventor pill, and Imes is the best candidate to be lynched today, unless a better lead surfaces my vote is pretty much cast on stone.
