  1. Wacky is a bit of an understatement. Watch this video and you'll see how super-wacky (and dirty old perv) Master Roshi is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MswXUj1UoCc
  2. That could be one way of doing it, though has any Marvel superhero-based movie done that 'straight-to-DVD' route?Still the best (and proven) way of introducing supporting characters is through cameos/supporting roles in 'Big-name Superhero' movies like in the previous cases of Black Widow in Iron Man 2, Hawkeye in Thor, and Nick Fury in all the individual Avengers movies, with all three chracaters landing their way in The Avengers. For the other possible Avengers, this is how I see them appearing in the cinematic universe (and hopefully in the Avengers sequels eventually): Ant-Man (Pym) (confirmed release 2015) - appearance by Wasp (van Dyne) = both probable in Avengers 2 Black Panther - can warrant its own movie = probable appearence in Avengers 3? Vision - appearance in an Ant-Man sequel? (Ultron-Vision storyline) = probable appearence in Avengers 3? Captain Mar-Vell + Ms. Marvel - important Avengers characters in a possible Kree-Skrull War storyline in a future Avengers movie. They could also make a surprise appearance when the Avengers take on Thanos (the current team aren't enough - they need help with cosmic-powered heroes) Iron Fist, Luke Cage, etc. - a possible New Avengers movie with Spidey? Wolvey? (probably a looong time from now) Those are just hunches (and personal wishes), and like any Marvel fan I wish to see them eventually make their way in the cinematic universe, though not in the expense of 'rushing' their production that it would be done in bad taste.
  3. When I saw the new turtle shell piece from the TMNT line, the first fig I thought this piece would be most useful to is Master Roshi, and you beat me in doing it DD! Very nicely done I must say, everything is spot-on - from the choice of head, beard, torso, legs, custom wizard staff, even the island baseplate and coconut tree is perfect for this custom fig! Posting the reference pic to justify the accuracy of the fig!
  4. Very nice work, the action movements are well-conceived and properly executed. The fighting sounds are spot-on too. Good job overall!
  5. Getting the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sounds promising though I'm not so sure about the low-budget Marvel films. I feel there is a risk of over-saturating the film audience viewership and might lead to 'viewer fatigue'. I'm ok with sticking to the big names (Thor, Cap, Iron Man) and probably just pick only a couple of those heroes like Black Panther and Dr. Strange and just have the other less known characters appear as 'guests' in the more mainstream movies.
  6. def, the train comic is hilarious and I could totally relate to! I guess we have the same habit of "appreciating all the beauty around us" - no matter what angle we'll find a line of sight!

  8. It is these types of unique MOC concepts that I really admire - great job on this exemplary LEGO LOTR Chess set! The choice of the characters and mini-builds for the chess pieces are brilliantly spot-on, though I would have to echo similar sentiments on the checkered part of the board. If I may suggest you could probably make the outline of the squares into one color (probably dark brown) while still retaining the alternating 2x2 tiles inside the 4x4 square area - I think that way you'll be able to tone down the "too much checkered look" but at the same time not making the board too dull.
  9. I've had my fair share of theater experience, though mostly in school stage play levels only. The one that stands out for me is my first and most memorable play - Les Misérables - wherein I was the overall-in-charge (directing, lighting, props, costume, etc.). It was a hectic but very enjoyable and rewarding experience - one that has really made me a fan of this classic theatrical musical. That's why I'm pretty excited for the upcoming movie adaptation of Les Mis.

  11. My main criticism of the DKR set is not the design aspect but the choice of squeezing both vehicles in a single set. I'm pretty sure the LEGO designers are a talented bunch and it's a shame that their creative talents are put under the spotlight just because of those "questionable decision-makers" who thought of this set and put a ridiculous price point restriction for the design team. It still perplexes me why TLG decided to give us one measly set (so far) considering the movie is one of the most highly anticipated of the year. Is it because TDKR is more geared towards adults? If it is then why release a set that is so childish-looking it has little to no appeal to adults at all? IMO it would have been better if they released the Tumbler and BAT in two separate sets, probably at $30 or so, and they could have given us a more detailed Tumbler rather than that unitimidatingly cute Chibi version (the BAT is typical TLG design which gives us lots of "rooms for improvement".) Surely most will prefer more detailed vehicles in a 2-set combo at $30+/set rather than a cheap but silly-looking $40-set right?
  12. Call my POV "crazy" all you want but that is my personal opinion and I don't shove my viewpoint to change other people's opinions. I feel doing "more" to the figs like arm prints would deviate too much from the simplistic LEGO look and approach the high detailing of action figures, so I like the way the Turtles are currently designed - with just the proper amount of detailing - not lacking but not too much either. The weapons you're referring to can be easily modded if you don't like them. Again, that's just my personal opinion no need to react too much on it if you don't agree on it.
  13. For someone who grew up TMNT this is really great news that our beloved Ninja Turtles will finally come in LEGO form! I think TLG did a very good job on the Turtles, they couldn't have been done better IMO. Having a separate head/shell piece makes sense for more customizable and flexible building, and since this is based on the new cartoon series the pupiled eyes and updated torso details are understandable. Though due to nostalgic reasons I miss the letters (M, D, R, L) on the Turtle's belts. Can't wait to get some of these sets!
  14. Not your typical Ninja look - Kakashi Hatake from the Naruto manga/anime. Face and torso decals by Iron Alchemist (Minifig Customization Network) This is still a planned graphic design, and would have to do by this time until I get that Exo-force hairpiece to make the real custom fig. Just wanted to join the fun and support the Ninja month.
  15. Thanks for sharing! Looks like this set will be the first second one to give us the inverted 2x2 tile? (as previously pointed out by SuperKalle in this topic) EDIT: Said piece was already released via the NinjaGo Samurai Mech set.
  16. This is just pure genius. No ordinary mind will be able to come up with this clever concept of a build. Magnificent work! PS: The inverted colored image really reminds me of the Pandora forests at night.
  17. Well it is very clear in the subtitle of this thread that there are SPOILERS PRESENT so I don't think spoiler tags are necessary. Besides, do we have to wait for the current episodes to be shown in every part of the world before we could discuss 'normally' without spoilers? With regards to the premiere episode, even if it's not as 'grandiose' as the other two-part season premieres of the past, I really liked it especially how they've shown that even two badass Sith wannabees can be taken down by a punch of pirates. Brute strength, athletic fighting/lightsaber skills, or even Force abilities ain't got nothin' on a full gang of blaster-wieldin' pirates. Kinda reminds me of this: And even it's sad to see Adi Gallia go, it's good to see it fueled Obi-Wan to take on the brothers without hesitation, it was probably the best I've seen Kenobi in a lightsaber duel, even managing to decapitate Oppress' arm in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Hondo referring to lightasbers as "laser swords" really cracked me up, his underground non-chalant attitude really makes him one of my favorite charactes in the show (and I'm relieved he wasn't killed in the episode, as I really thought he will be - until the Jedi died). Overall, this was an enjoyable watch and a promising sign for this season, even if it is not much directly related to the on-going Clone Wars.
  18. Are you serious? These look like sketchworks of a professional LEGO designer IMO! The whole concept is very unique and the minifig print designs really look great. My favorite detail has to be the comb of the hero and dice necklace of the villain! Great job!
  19. Just curious, why isn't the Gotham City Mafia (co-hosted by ADHO15 and The Penguin) not included in the mafia game index?
  20. Am I being overly optimistic to assume (and expect) that we'll see almost all, if not all, the CGI characters/beasts we've seen in the posters/video game/promotional images in future sets somewhere along the line? - Gandalf the White - Saruman - Galadriel - Eowyn - Witch-King of Angmar - Fell Beast - Mordor Troll - brick-built Balrog - Mumakil/Oliphaunt - Gondor soldiers ...just to name a few. I mean, they already made the designs for these characters/beasts, so it's just a matter of "fleshing them out" and figuring out which set they'll come in (knowing how advanced TLG works they might already know which sets and when they will release these) This is also the case for CGI Star Wars video game characters/beasts (Rancor, CW Padme, etc.), most have eventually been released in sets even if some took quite some time.
  21. Wow! These builds are so realistic that I even have to look twice to see that they are indeed made of LEGO! My personal favorite is the egg beater/whisk - very clever use of the flex tubes!
  22. Man I hate to choose since all are fantastic entries, but I have to go with the Darkest Dragon of all! 5. Darkdragon - 3
  23. Very impressive job for your first Brick Flick DD! The movements are quite spontaneous and gotta love that "imagination" effect - very cleverly done. Just curious what program did you use (iMovie?) and how long did you take to finish this? (I'd like to get an idea how much time to invest when I attempt my first brick flick too )
  24. Another masterful batch of custom figs! Gotta love your work on Flash and Booster Gold - their paint jobs and custom-cut parts (Booster's hair and Flash's head wings) are really impressive! Two-Face's winter trench coat is a nice touch too!
