  1. I don't think you are tall enough to ride this ride!

  2. Thanks - Yes I hunt.
  3. I haven't made the final count yet but there should be about 250 in the new French Army and about the same number in the Spanish. I have lots of extra gold hooks. I forgot I'd have to replace those with hands on all those torsos! I just ordered another batch of red and black epaulettes and heads so at some point I just need about 500 muskets and the armies should be complete, although I may come up a little short on plain shakos too.
  4. The Rum Room turned out excellent. I thought you came up with a very original design on the exterior of the building (a thing not always that easy to do with buildings). The detailed interior and the way it all comes apart was very unexpected and must have required a good deal or trial and error to work out. Very cool idea. The entire MOC is very impressive with the landscaping and all the various elements that you inluded. It has so much going on but doesn't seem over crowded at all.
  5. It looks like white is the overwhelming victor. I have to agree, though there is something interesting about the red pants. I hated them at first but they kind of grew on me. I am going to do 50 with red pants and 150 with white pants. My armies aren't really meant to be copies of the real thing. I like them to still have more of a Lego pirates theme feel. Thanks for the feed back everyone! Here is a quick picture of the current state of the new French army and my new Spanish army as they are being built up. I need more epaulettes. I always need more epaulettes!
  6. Nope I am still working on my project and the big ships also. I have a ton of projects in various stages related to the port (nothing is really ever finished) and all the stuff you have seen before is still there. See....
  7. In my continueing efforts to build smaller support craft on the small lego hulls I created this small supply Hoy. This ship like the others I have built is based on the Captain Green Hair style. It becomes a challenge on the small hulls, especially with just two hull midsections to create the smooth shape. Another thing that I found makes the ships lines look a little different is the absence of any gun ports.
  8. HMS Meteor is the sister ship to Death. In researching these smaller vessels I discovered the smaller the ship the outlandish and audacious the name. Like much of what I build these two bomb ketches were inspired by the Horatio Hornblower novels. I believe the bomb ketches were featured in Commodore Hornbricker (my favorite of the series).
  9. The HMS Death is a small two masted Bomb Ketch. She is close to completion and has a sister ship. You can see that the masts are set back rather far on these types of ships. They were not great saliors but they could really pack a very specialized type of wallop! Enjoy
  10. I have been doing some army building lately. It is something I always end up doing when I don't have the time for a larger building project. I can't decide which version of my French Soldier I like better and decided to get some feed back. Plus I haven't posted anything in ages and didn't want to be forgotten.
  11. Not gone just very busy. I've become a blasted lurker. When the redcoat flag is raised I'll be there with my army and fleet to answer the call!

  12. Love it! Glad to see you set down the guitar and picked up the bricks. The ships look amazing and the scene is very nicely done. Captain Green Hair vs. Captain Blue Hair was an inspired touch! I would like to see more of their epic battles.
  13. If its Lego and Pirates then I am going to need multiples of each! I don't mind using some fleshies in my pirate world. Gotta embrace diversity!
  14. Fair Winds and Following Seas Admiral.

  15. I am writing this in pure shock and with such a very heavy heart. I was lucky enough to work with Dieter on a couple projects at Classic-Pirates. He was such a stand up guy. He really took the business and image of the site very seriously and I think that showed in the quality of the site. He generously shared so much of his time and talent with this community. He was the man behind some of the funniest “titles” I have read on EB. He loved a good title. Twenty-seven is far too young to pass away. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. You will be missed Zorro.
  16. I have been noodling around with my armies a little and decided to add 225 of these (French) and 210 of these (Spanish) It'll take me a couple months to aquire all the little odds and ends to finish the armies. I'll post pictures when they're done.
  17. The pirate army builders should love this. I bought 225 of these a few days ago.....and a lot of other little bits to go with this new French army.
  18. Oh great, next thing we know he'll have plans to take over the world. Congratulations! Certainly the right man for the job. I'll expect to see sails comming over the horizon soon.
  19. Always...I haven't been on for weeks! Unfortunately this trend may continue for a while as I have taken over the top spot at work (at least for the next several months though I am hoping permanently).

I will be mailing out the last of the ToRII prizes this week. I've been waiting on the little ones to get everyones address so I can do it in one trip to the Post Office.

  20. Rats! I like baseball too.

Not so good lately. I spent all my building time doing comics for several months. I have been terribly busy with work and a few other hobbies. Perhaps when the winter rolls around I can move things along. Thanks for asking.

  21. Vancouver, Victoria, Jasper, Banff, Calgary and a few small spots in between. Took the train over night through the mountains. Very nice.

  22. I did. My family and I very much enjoyed our first trip to Canada. We had great weather and went many fun places.

  23. We had some very nice entries and a lot of amazing and dedicated Redcoat fans but their can be just one winner and that winner is Skalldyr for his "Raising the Flag on..." entry. I find his entry to be very well built and while seeing the Redcoat's in fleshi form still strikes me as shocking, I think it is interesting how it foreshadows the POTC line. Great job everyone. Congratulations Skalldyr!
  24. Thanks for all the nice words. I'd cry if I hadn't lost my tear ducts last year in one of Captain Blue Hair's beat downs! I am glad everyone had fun. I did as well.
  25. Great entry. I really like all the work you put into your story as well!
