  1. Does this non-disclosure agreement have a date where it's ok to talk about stuff, or is it until Lego talks about it? I smell this ND thing as possibly a test, to see who leaks what where & when. Has Lego ever done something like this before, or at other Brickfests?
  2. No need to apologize. Rants are good, especially when informative. I was watching this movie's progression from the start. Here's the guy who had his hands all over the first script, Don Murphy. He went to G1 fans and asked them how the original cartoon could be faithfully translated. But to the suprise of those giving ideas, he just tossed "geek" insults and nerd cliche's around, totally putting down those who were trying to help. Not suprising, coming from a guy who said Soundwave was a "silly" character. >__< January, 2005: At least it seems the script won't begin in the jungles of the amazon, where he wanted it to. But really, how much can the script that was leaked really change? They've already said the people to robot ratio will be more like 50/50, so it's not like they're going to take all the poop in it and completely rewrite just about every scene (as every scene is pretty badly cliche'd garbage). Blech. Anyways, more pics, the bottom being Bumblebee's head...
  3. I mix'em. When making mocs, I seem to have picked up the habit of checking every few hours with a mini (white LED) flashlight that emulates camera flash, so I can see where miscolored / recolored parts don't jive. I don't find too many issues where old parts and new parts have a problem staying together (though those light bricks with the Exo-Force sets are WORTHLESS underneath, clicking to nothing). I prefer the new Lego parts. The old plates WERE hard to separate... way too hard. I'm known for having lobster claw hands and even I could sit there grunting like I'm constipated only to have my thumb slide and get a red impression. :-D The new plates keep together more than adequately I'd say. I've briefly messed with just about every Lego ripoff, and can say any brick from any era beats them all. Color issues aside, there is no moc you could make in the 70's that can't be made with the bricks of today. The strength is there, it's always been there, and that's what keeps Lego alive & thriving.
  4. So I look at your gallery, landing on the first one. I say to myself, "Hey. Cool. Hotrod transforms AND can still pose. Nice job. Looks better as a thumbnail though... pretty bricky when zoomed in". So I backspace and scroll down. Holy poo nuggets... you made a TRANSFORMING PREDAKING GESTALT. Absolutely freakin' amazing. Although it's hard to hold the keyboard and type while doing it, I'm actually bowing down right now and moshing my head in your general direction.
  5. Yah, I wasn't trying to sound defensive, just more like an inquisitive "huh"? Or maybe I was just bored. Probably both. :-)
  6. Indeed, indeed. I'm smelling a joke account here. Hope I don't find myself doing this a 3rd time, Clone Commander. Again.
  7. I know, I know. Tis travesty what smacks us upside the head. I don't mind that he looks different, as Volkswagen wanted to be foofy about him being a Beetle, but "who" Bumblebee is has been removed. Bumblebee was nearly human-sized, walking around with Spike and gabbing the whole time. Here, he's not even the shortest Autobot, he's mute, and there was no attempt, other than color, to even remotely emulate his look. And why is he mute? In the script, everybody's reconnecting lost limbs on a nanite level, but he can't regenerate his voice box? Yeesh... the script is hideous. Just a bunch of cliche'd phrases, cliche'd situations, cliche'd characters, cliche'd pop culture references, cliche'd "humor"... just another crap American movie.
  8. I don't understand the argument that a more violent approach has lead to a dark age, in any respect. It gets more people interested in Lego, and you can turn Lego sets into anything. A few of those "violent" (lol) Exo-Force & Star Wars sets could be turned into a nice town cottage. :-D To say Lego's fallen into a dark age, you can't base it on "kiddy" or "adult" themes, violence, or anything else. What matters ONLY is: --what can I do with the parts in this set? --are there enough (good) parts in this set for the price? Nothing else really matters. I don't understand how "old-time" Lego guys are dismayed at the loss of classic Lego while Lego still makes those big, inexpensive brick buckets. Aside from classic space guys, classic spaceship windshields and house windows, what's not there anymore? And that's a serious question. I actually don't know what people mean by "returning to classic Lego". Classic Lego to me is those maxifigures with bricks for legs and arms that droop. Minifigs were these "newer" guys just BEGGING to be accessorized from day one, and Lego's accomodated that nicely.
  9. vs. ? : / All new boards start off "fast". X-D
  10. Thet thar's poor lil' Bumblebee, the mute robot that speaks by landing on radio stations with music and commercials relevant to what he wants to say. >__<
  11. Well, I've already read the leaked script. Craptastic. Seen the leaked pics of Megatron. Craptastic. Meh... I'm not diggin' this film at all. It was made by morons from the ground up. It'd probably have been fine if they didn't call it "Transformers", but they did. Bleh. Decide for yourself, as I'm a biased, continuity-loving idiot. Unlike the makers of this poop. Script: http://zenixstudios.com/files/ff4trans_script_2007.pdf Pics: http://www.maj.com/gallery/JINZONINGEN73/J...blebee_2007.jpg
  12. Despite the fact I'm wooed by your cool, real-life Laputa robot avatar, no. I never redistribute that which I aquire. I'm strictly hit n' run. X-D
  13. Well, there was some info there. Verification of a train and it's color. It might not be exciting, being that red is a no-duh kind of color, but if he'd said "A bionicle figure was shown, he was purple", I know I'd (and thousands of others) would be slobbering on it. X-D
  14. I'm only in a dark age because I'm poor as dirt. And because my housing situation is unsteady, meaning unpacking my stuff might be bad. And because goo and plaster from a caved in celing has defiled my Lego bins. Other than that, any year of Lego is good with me. Any one part, (as long as they had the brains to make it freaking symmetrical), can be anything.
  15. Yeah, that. :-D
  16. I wonder what stops one from anonymously barfing their informative guts out? ... ...I bet someone's already put it online, and just haven't broadcast it yet.
  17. You're right, yopu're right. We're all just being vulgar now. I mean crap, the littlest bit of moisture and edible undies melt. System / Technic hybrid it is.
  18. Ok ok... ideas... words popping into my head... "convention" ... "bimbo" ... "Lego brick bra and panties" Pure GENIUS!
  19. Oh duh... the guy's right! I can't believe I forgot about peroxide. That stuff cleans tons of junk. :-|
  20. I don't know why, but that cracked me up immensely lol.
  21. Where's the mecha love? I ask you, where's the love?!? V__V This isn't a contest, it's a coin toss! :-D
  22. I already have it burned on CD *cough*. Haven't watched it yet. From what the whole internet fad of it says, it's said that it depends on the theater of people you see it with. And one thing you're supposed to do is stand up and cheer when Samuel L. Jackson starts yelling about "these mother ****ing snakes, on this mother ****ing plane!". I'd post a clip of people in theaters doing this at various locations, but it's probably best not to. X-D ...I think I'll go find that disc, wherever I put it... This is possibly the most crazyassed promo poster for this movie in the world. :-D The French version: So much for subtlety. X D
  23. Political indeed: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5283956.stm So like, out of ALL the people consulted for input on this, the "voters" had to be present at one single place, at one single time, right as they were called to it. It's a tactic used by the politicians alot... like democrat, anti-gun senators used to do... they'd call congress to session in the middle of the night, only having given fore-warning to themselves. All the people on the other side would be dead asleep / away on business somewhere in the country, only to find out the next morning laws were passed. Tricky tricky tricky. And WRONG.
  24. THE coooonteeeeeeeest tiiiiiiiiiime forgooooooooooooooot!
  25. I don't understand a damn thing you just said! Just kidding. Welcome. :-D
