  1. It was a pleasure, thanks so much for asking. :)
  2. A beautiful review, but the Doctor Who fan in me was delighted by the Auton reference. I know what I'm MODing when I get the Emporium. ;)
  3. Seeing that list of sets at the beginning of this thread, I can safely say that this man and his incredible creative vision is the main reason that I returned in such force to LEGO after years away. I eagerly look forward to what the future holds for Mr. Berard's career and my wallet. :)
  4. Also looks like at least one trans-green goblet inside the second story window, suggesting there's a full store in that level too.
  5. I'm officially now in love with this set. Beautiful pics, thanks!
  6. I hate to tip everyone off since I haven't decided if I might go for one extra CC myself, but I'm in the Maryland area, and I still saw some at a couple of the nearby stores here and in Virginia. So it's not impossible yet.
  7. ...Oh and please if you care to share, instructions on the Dalek! :D
  8. Speaking as the co-author of Howe's Transcendental Toybox (the guide to Doctor Who merchandise) and an enthusiastic returnee to LEGO (thanks to Cafe Corner), may I just agree that these are the most incredible, brilliant Daleks ever achieved at that scale in LEGO. I've seen lots of attempts but this has absolutely nailed it. Beautiful job!
  9. I think that has actually been done in the past when CC first came out. I certainly know a bunch of folks made their own versions and showcased them on Brickshelf among others. I just thought it would be cool coming from LEGO officially. :)
  10. This sounds better and better, and I only just got finished building the fire station. :) You know what would be really cool, but resides firmly in the "Will Never Happen" category? If LEGO would offer for sale - maybe just at stores or through the online shop - a small kit that comes with interiors for the Cafe Corner to make up for the lack of that detail back when they were more cautious/cost attentive on that set. It would be a small, inexpensive set with some furniture, extra set dressing, whatever. Would be neat. :) But I know, I know, I can do that myself.
  11. Well that sunk me, I was holding off for a long time and now I had to go and make a huge order. Those light blue berets are just too hard to resist. :)
  12. Just got Fire Brigade this weekend for my birthday, perfect gift. :) I agree with the idea that more Market Street/thinner-style buildings with a lower ($80 or so) price point would be a nice way of continuing the series, with one larger building per year or so as an anchor. I'd love to see some thing boutique-type stores, the usual bank and post office requests, but smaller buildings would be really welcome.
  13. Wow, but the amazing thing is that all this independent confirmation proves it's not just someone making it up. Well done! :)
  14. Anyone have any other news/sightings of the revelation now on bricktowntalk.blogspot.com that the next modular building has been seen in a LEGO store and it's a dark red fire station?
  15. Nope, we're in the Camden Yards complex right next door to the Orioles and across the street from the Convention Center. Personally, I think a lighthouse sounds cooler. :)
  16. Yup that's me, but don't hold it against me. :) Ooh, Who customs, I'll check that out! Well that's changing a lot these days thanks to the new show, BBC America and Sci-Fi. Happy to be here!
  17. Thanks all, it's a pleasure to be here!
  18. Having seen those early building examples, I'm now thinking the next one would be sand/beige predominantly. We've had Cafe Corner - brown/red Market Street (I know, but still) - shades of blue Green Grocer - duh So what's left in the basic colors except a toned-down variant of yellow? I think a Post Office would be superb. But another corner building as well.
  19. Hi all! My name is Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg, Curator of the pop culture exhibition Geppi's Entertainment Museum in Baltimore and author of books on comics, zombie movies and more. My main fan passion though is Doctor Who, and I'm a moderator on a big Who forum elsewhere. I've also,of course, been a LEGO fan all my life but went through my Dark Age a while back and Cafe Corner brought me back with a vengeance. I'm thrilled to be plugging myself back in and thought I'd make it official by joining here and saying hi. :) Arnold
