That house is really great! It's going to look out of size compared to the new gas station and harbour though. :-P And I also hope it comes with some figs in the final product.

Last Adventurers set - Destiny's Castle
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the replies everyone! :'-) I might do a few sets from other themes. I already have a pretend Exoforce plane ready to have pictures taken of it, and I will try to post that soon. I was also hoping to do a few pirates sets in the future, because it could be a fun topic to explore. ;-) Advice I will have to remember. I use a software called the GIMP. I really should be using photoshop, but I don't have it. Sadly, I still rely on MS paint for a lot of the pohotoshoping. :-P -
Most likely in summer -they usually are when we recieve protos around this time anyway. My thoughts on the 2007 castle line:

Last Adventurers set - Destiny's Castle
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the replies! My bad on the colours, but I didn't think they were that bad at the time. The castle has the same colours as King's gatehouse and no one complained, so I figured people didn't mind them. I guess you're right. -
Last Adventurers set - Destiny's Castle
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the reply! Though it seems this set isn't too popular. :'-( You're probably right, maybe an actual seat for a king to sit on would be better, instead of just the platform. -
Recap: Johnny Thunder, Doctor Lighting, and Harry Cane have finally made it to King Leownis's castle. But guess who's waiting for them? The long awaited General Veeronis and his men that's who. A showdown for the crown is about to begin! With a familar guardian watching in the background... Destiny's Castle Click the picture of the set to go to the folder. (Pic = Link) And for a change in repetition I made a nice sky-blue background for the castle. Please note the green glow on the building is from the green screen I used to photoshop the pic. Note: When viewing the pic of the whole set, click resize -otherwise it'll look disorted. ;-) The set has 624 pieces, possibly more (the plane was not counted) and it has 9 minifigures (originally it was supposed to have 8, but I had to put in good ol' Harry). It has 3 traps, a jeep, a plane, 2 skeletons (castle style) a ton of weapons and Fire Nation flags, and 4 stories of a castlely goodness. Some prices for you guys: 99.99 Canadian, 69.99 American. And just for fun: Take a look at the first four sets if you haven't: The whole JT folder Hope you enjoyed the final set. I know it wasn't perfect, perhaps too many figs, but I really wanted to put Harry and his plane in this set. I hope you all liked it anyways. I have to apoligize for my absence, my computer caught a virus a few weeks ago and I lost all my pics, but I finally got this online at the end. As always, comments are appreciated. :-) Graynar

Thanks for the replies guys -I've been away too long. Sorry for my long absence. :-$ But I have finished the final set -I'll be posting it soon (about time lol). -
New Adventurers set -King's Gatehouse
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey thanks for the comments! I know many people are complaining about the minifigure inconsistency, well as you very well know, I am no official LEGO expert. ;-) I had so many cool ideas and figs to put in the sets, I decided to put in most of them. But the imperial soldier fig is not out of the picture yet -as you all will soon see. I wish I had more time, school isn't very time friendly, but I should be done the big set soon -I hope. If anyone's intrested, after I finish the JT theme, I was thinking of starting a new pretend theme. Ideas would be great. But a few warnings are -I'd make a pirate theme but I only have one ship to use and no sails. So pirates would be tough for me, even though I have plenty of blue coats to use. :-/ -
Not to mention that the Republic Gunship came from the time period where LEGO had no flesh tones yet. So putting Mace in the set would not work because he is black. And that would make Mace look funny among yellow raceless people. This mistake was done for real in the LEGO cloud city, with Lando. This is probably why TLC starting producing fleshtones, so yellow minifigures could remain raceless... The new SW sets look great by the way. But the walker is way to expensive -should of had a couple ewoks included.

New Adventurers set -King's Gatehouse
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It has been a while friends. I just wanted to post an update that the last set will be posted soon, as I have finally gotten some free time and finished building it. Actually it's one more, unless I have lots of free time to make 2. I just combined the small set with the big one, and it turned out quite well. *y* New set, coming soon. ;-) -
That's pretty sweet. I marvel at your MS paint art, I know from expirience that it's hard to draw good with that system. But you drew a pretty awesome mech. *y* That'd be great in LEGO form, who'd the pilot be for this puppy?
-
I have the set, the blue piece is just a flag pole coloured blue. I always though it was supposed to be a trickle of water. :-P

Not much for moi: Clone scout walker All KK2:3 except for Gargoyle bridge Fire Nation ship Batmobile vs Twoface Grand Titan That's about it I believe. *n*

New Adventurers set -King's Gatehouse
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the replies! 2 more I think. The main big set, and one more small one. ;-) Thank you! It's like a combo series as you mentioned, after the dislike of the Imperial guards, I kind of removed them and put in the soldier figs instead. *n* Playability feature. The croc was imported from a rainforest somewhere to destroy Thunder. :-P -
New Adventurers set -King's Gatehouse

I wasn't thinking when I typed the title (second time *n* ). "Set" in the title can be changed to MOC easily enough though. ;-) -
Recap: With the Key of the castle dock, and the priceless sword of King Leownis in his belt, Johnny Thunder (and his friends) travel deeper into the land of castles, to the mighty castle of King Leownis! This also leads Thunder closer to General Veeronis, the dreaded lord of war! Now: Johnny Thunder and Dr.Lighting have used the Scroll to locate King Leownis's mighty castle. But to get into the castle, the duo must get past the King's Gatehouse. The King's armour is located inside, but where is his golden crown? Trouble brews when JT runs into General Veeronis's right hand man - Huskar Von! Read the back story Take a look at the first three sets if you haven't: The whole JT folder Now, the newest set: King's Gatehouse http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/renovin/...4/01fullset.jpg Box art http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/renovin/...under/04/03.jpg Figs 29.99 American, (44.99 Canadian) with 378 pieces, 4 figs, one skeleton, and another piece of the King's armour. Hope you like it. Comments are appreciated. :)

Hey guys, Here's my first real set review in a long time. After building this set, I thought it would be nice to do a review on it, it's one of the best part's packs in years. (If you like Bley) Here's most of the information you might want to know: The price is steep, 79.99 Canadian, and 49.99 American. But compared to the Mistlands Tower set (same price as FNS -but with half the amount of pieces) the FNS is a great buy! *Please note this is completely my opinion so I hope this review does not offend people who like this set.* Now then, onto the review! Over view of the whole set The Fire Nation ship crew The Heroes Accessories The Bottom of the FNS The Ship's lower interior Engine room The Top Deck The Prison The Catapult The Smoke Stack The Main Tower The Main Tower The Tower's interior The rear of the ship -including all deck pieces Errors and Mistakes The Instruction Manual (2 Errors) (Box) Katara's hip mistake (Back of box) Two too many For fun (The two other sets you can build) The two sets The whole folder when public The Good The set is an awesome parts pack. I'm very impressed by the amount of usable pieces in the same colour. There is also dark red, black, and stone grey pieces but in smaller quantities. Here are some awesome piece counts: 54- 2 by 6's (Bley) 16- 1 by 12's (Bley) 26- 1 by 3's (Bley) 25- Ladder hinge pieces (Bley) 13- Cylinder pieces (Bley) (for the smoke stack) The set comes with 3 good Fire Nation figures, and Aang's torso is supurb. Katara's dark blue torso should be usefull. Onto the the ship it's self, the amount of Fire Nation flags (10) is very welcome, the addition of the speed boat and boiler room is very sweet. The anchor design is also very nice. The Bad Poor amount of accessories for the figures. There is no form of food or untensils for the crew aboard the FNS. There's not even a treasure chest! (TLC likes to include those) The roof of the main tower is flismy, but works. The speed boat has no controls and it has no engine. The ship could use a few more Fire Nation men as the ship is seriously undermaned. The interior of the whole ship isn't very exciting, it's very plain. The 4 differen't floor pieces of the main deck (Catapult, prison, Main Tower, and Smoke stack) come off easily, except for the prison piece, because the nob you use to pick it up with break's every time. Also, the trap door piece is pretty useless. The plastic flag isn't great either (cloth would have been better). The Ugly The Crapapult is a piece of Megablockim trash. As it functions horribly. You push the lever to launch the dark red brick (sad, should have been better fire ball pieces) but there isn't really enough room to fire it properly, and the shot usually sails straight down. The prison has no door, there for the prisoner can probably escape even if he/she was tied up. Also, every time you see an official picture of the FNS, you see the prison sitting up right, on top of the deck. This is in fact, not possible as the prison fall's right back down, unless it's on top of the catapult. I think it's just an advertising license so kid's can see the prison. But it's kind of annoying when you can't really do it for real. But modifications can always save the day. The euro armours on the Fire Bender and Fire Nation soldier are brown and not red as we see in official pictures. The brown is pale and boring, but the figs still look cool. Conclusion Part's pack for sure. Some good figs, nice set design, not many flaws besides the prison and catapult. The holes in the main tower are a little unpleasent, but they don't degrade the set much. The errors in printing on box art and the instruction manual are rather annoying, but they only serve as false advertising. I think LEGO's gotten cheap enough not to have editors to fix these mistakes. But it doesn't ruin the set. Here are my ratings: Pieces: A strong 10 Figs: A 7 (Demerits to Flesh tone and FN figs pale euro armours) Playability: A 6 (Could of had more accessories and a better interior. Design: 9 (It was pretty functional, minus the prison) Overall, final score: I give it an 8. Please feel free to discuss the set. :)

This is megawesome news. The fig packs are great -I hope those are the final fig numbers and not protos. The lander sounds disapointing, I hope it's still a good set though.
-
Nice fig's eNiGMa! I like the king, great use of that head. And I think fleshies have great uses -they make awesome villains! *y* The head is from Avatar but it is not the uncle. LEGO has not produced the Avatar uncle fig as of yet. Quote from Fire Nation ship on LEGO.com That fig we think is the uncle is actually just a soldier. Not that it really matters...
-
We shouldn't get our hopes up though, TLC has been known to dissapoint. But maybe we'll be lucky this time. *y* -I'm thinking the AT-ST will be the Hoth version. With one pilot, and maybe a snow trooper or rebel soldier. -The landing craft should be awesome. It'll probably be like the Emperor's shuttle remake -10 figs! But it better not come with Vader and two red guards. *n* -GG's spaceship probably will come with obi and the general. So you can have them fight over the ship. ;-) -The Y-wing I think is going to be just like the newest X-wing. Lot's of new/old figs and the ship. -As for the battle packs, I can see three figs per set and a small ship or turret of some sort. Just my humble speculations.

Johnny Thunder MOC- Battle for the Scroll
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Lol, no biggie! ;-) Me too. It's easy not to put catapults in sets anyways. I really don't think they add much playability though. :-/ That's a job for minifigures! *y* BTW: Sweet! Thanks for the new title! -
Johnny Thunder MOC- Battle for the Scroll
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the replies! Gail Storm was in the Hero's tower set. And don't worry, we have several other of Johnny's friends to appear in the next set. ;-) The Knight was the tower's Guardian. He's a natural villain to that set, but not to the whole theme. The threads was an atempt at me trying something differen't. I thought they were kind of cool, in a mini sort of way. No, that's not a face, it's just the tank's front window. There was a catapult in the Dragon fortress (7419). I put in the catapult for xwingyoda after he asked me kindly to put one in twice. ;-) Thank you! I never got the chance to buy the only female villain Alexia Sinister, I suppose I could make a new one. But you will see some of JT's side kick buddies appear soon. I didn't want to put them into these sets because I already had too many figs. Three for a small set is pushing it these days. *n* Ditto to that! -
Johnny Thunder MOC- Battle for the Scroll
Graynar posted a topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
With the Key of the castle dock, and the priceless sword of King Leownis in his belt, Johnny Thunder (and his friends) travel deeper into the land of castles, to the mighty castle of King Leownis! This also leads Thunder closer to General Veeronis, the dreaded lord of war! Read the back story Take a look at the first two sets if you haven't: The whole JT folder Now for the newest set (you'll notice and increase in the use of the story): Battle for the Scroll The smallest set, only 14.99 American, or 19.99 Canadian. With 3 figures and 122 pieces. This set features Sam Sinister's mini tank, one of General Veeronis's soldiers, and Johnny Thunder. In this set JT is fighting for the scroll, so he can locate King Leownis's golden crown. But Sam isn't going to make it easy. Battle for the Scroll Special Feature: The small castle included can be destroyed by removing the spear from the wall. A spring system similar to the Pirate set -Volcano island is used. But it features a bit more as the spring also removes half of the wall. Hope you enjoy the set. Please tell me what you think of it. ;) -
MOC Johnny Thunder set -Hero's Tower
Graynar replied to Graynar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm not much of a customiser. I customise sails, and sheets for LEGO beds, but that's basically it. I didn't keep the custom torso's on long because I like using offical ones more.
